A cheer from the staff rang loudly, as the photographer called for a wrap. It was a small photoshoot but Lumiere appreciated any work that she could get, in hopes that it would lead to something further. Without changing yet, Lumi looked at the community staff schedule, her violet eyes scanning for a name. He should still be around, if she wasn't mistaken. Hopefully, he didn't leave early. With the way he was, he probably hadn't even heard about the plans yet.

Assuring the staff she would be at the after-party as she walked along the hallways, she looked around at the open doors. Nope, it was empty. That one too. Ah, that closed door might be the one. She knocked lightly on the door, before opening it. She stepped inside, tugging her fashionable summer scarf looser. She paused in the doorway, pausing to scan the room.

"Levi? You here?"

Levi's eyes didn't leave the screen of his laptop where he sat at one of the tables in the break room, though a small nod indicated that he had heard the model speak.

After their initial meet, Levi had been offered a job with a local media company. Though he loved working in the music store, he had to admit that it was a dying business and working with the media provided many of the same opportunities he'd wanted. More than that, it'd meant that Lumiere (as a local model) was often drafted for many of their projects. As far as models went, she was much more tolerable than most and, even if he wasn't going to admit it without prompting, even kind of fun to hang out with.

"I hear you Illuminati, give me a sec," he muttered finally. He'd gotten off work ages ago but simply moved from the tiny office space he shared to the break room instead, where he sat finalizing some small piece of paperwork. He liked it better in the break room at the end of the day - few people bothered coming in when they could leave and it was a hell of a lot quieter than the boisterous offices where everyone was congratulating one another on the end of a long work week.

A few minutes passed before he finally looked up, leaning forward on the table some to stare at her.

"What is it?" Not rude, but no sugar coating, either. The typical Work-Levi response. With that tone, it was a wonder that he actually enjoyed talking to this coworker at all. She'd probably gotten used to it by now.

Lumiere couldn't help the private grin to herself, as Levi nodded. Hiding her grin, she turned to close the door. Ever since he accepted that local media job, Lumiere always made sure to spend a couple of minutes with him, when she could. Sometimes it was just bringing horrible break room coffee or just peeking in on what he was working on, on breaks or at the end of the day. She called it building connections. She just put a bit (a lot) more effort into it, with consideration for Levi's brooding personality. She couldn't remember when she last enjoyed a co-worker's company without strings.

She took small quiet steps, stifling a smile at his nickname. She stopped at the side of the table, leaning against it. Mindful of his work, her fingers swiped across her phone's keyboard rapidly to reply to some of her own. Levi's voice snapped her out of it, sliding her phone smoothly back into her purse. Leaning forward until she was in arm's length, she tapped the desk, with his laptop and papers.

"All work and no play makes you a workaholic. So the staff is especially insistent that you come to the closing bar party tonight." She pulled the pen from his hands, from the paperwork. "They asked me to convince you to not disappear this time. So how about free food and drinks?"

Levi's bright eyes swept from his laptop, to the pen she'd stole, and finally up to her pretty little face. For a moment there was no answer but silence. She was always so persistent. At last, he simply sighed, with more emphasis than was truly necessary.

"I get bored and go do something more interesting, that's not my fault," but even as he seemed to protest, he'd begun to shuffle the paper into a neat pile, sliding them carefully back into the pristine manila folder that had been lying open and empty next to them. One hand reached down to stuff them into his bag, though it came back with what appeared to be red licorice. He set the tip between his teeth and began the process of shutting down his laptop, still avoiding a real answer.

"I guess free food isn't bad," he looked up at her again, trying to hide the small smirk at the corner of his lips. As much as he tried to be a hard a**, he truly was just a (spoiled) kid at heart. Lumi knew him well enough to get past that prickly exterior without much effort these days. Even her presence seemed to lighten his mood considerably, which was probably why they always sent her to ask. He didn't mind so much.

"Alright, fiiiine," he drew out the 'I' as he put the laptop in his bag with the papers. "Is there a decent arcade machine at least? I don't want to listen to these people talk about their relationship problems all night."

It would be a lie to say that Levi's discomfort wasn't enjoyable, as she stared at him directly, as if daring him to refuse. Which was often, but she usually took it gracefully. (Or persistently.)

As he sighed and started to pack up, Lumiere couldn't help but reflect on his appearance, as a habit of an aspiring model. Casual clothes but still party material. Levi was easy on the eyes and had a fan or two in the staff department. However, they rarely approached, offput by his personality and his disappearances. Who could socialize if he was always gone? Not that Lumiere would tell him that, if he wasn't around to notice it. Her elbows on the table and chin in hands, she glanced over his papers and folders. As he packed up, she was hopeful he would come. On the not-so-bright side, he could just be packing to go home. Her smile grew a little bit wider as he accepted. She walked towards the door, heels perfectly in step, waiting for Levi to exit the room.

"You're not interested in who likes who? You could be pleasantly surprised, you know." Lumiere's smile, her enjoyment in gossip obvious. She was a girl .. but this kind of information was extremely useful in personal life and the business. But Levi never heard any from her, rumors stating that Lumiere was rather private, so she apparently kept those secrets well.

"But I suppose we could sneak out to a nearby arcade when all the drama starts."

The thrill of his acceptance was visible to someone used to studying Lumi. She was a model and, as such, entirely used to being stared at and picked apart - it was perhaps part of the reason his critical nature and bad attitude never seemed to bother her terribly. He found that quality in her to be admirable, if only because nothing turned him off faster than people prone to pouting and whining. It was irritating. Just like gossip.

"Do you think I care who likes me?" Although it sounded irritable, there was an amused smirk curling the corner of his lips. He leaned down, grabbed his bag, and slung it over his shoulder in one, practiced motion. "I spend my entire day trying to get people to leave me alone, Lumi. I couldn't care less about anyone's crush."

Although Levi preferred to be left to his own devices, he did frequent the music scene often for the sake of the music. Now and again he found a pretty girl, lost himself to the thrill of the beat, and spent a night with someone other than himself. It wasn't often and it never amounted to his ever wanting to speak to the person again. Relationships were an amount of work and personal feelings he didn't have time for.

It didn't mean he never noticed a pretty thing, though.

The tall, willowy man followed Lumiere out of the room, watching the grace with which she stepped in heels. Her beauty wasn't lost on him - he wasn't an idiot. He stared at her when she wasn't looking, the same way he might stare at a painting, or a sculpture. Her body was her art form and it was meant to be appreciated. That would be his answer if she ever caught him staring, and there'd be no apology for it if she did.

"I'm going to hold you to that, don't think that I won't," the smirk on his lips didn't die as he caught up to her outside the doorway. One hand reached up and unbuttoned the top button of his shirt, giving himself more breathing room as they made their way to the parking lot.

"I'm driving then, eh?"

He could care less? For reasons she definitely knew, she could find comfort in that.. or not. Either way, it just meant she should tread carefully. But then again, that was she always did. Lumiere's private life was often consumed by her professional life, unless one counted the occasional date with a fellow model. She checked her phone as she spoke, "being anti-social like that sounds equally hard as being social."

With careful consideration to the fact they would be eating, she pulled a hairband from her bag as Levi caught up to her and they walked towards the lot. With an expert motion, she twisted her hair into an updo with record time. The nape of her neck was bare, with the exception of a few stylish tendrils. Pulling a bobby pin from her teeth, that she placed seconds earlier, she made sure to pin back her bangs as well. "Oh, sounds dangerous, is that how you get a gorgeous girl on your gaming arm?" Now, she couldn't help but return his smirk as she slid into the passenger seat carefully.

"Arcade night is on me," She proposed casually, a person of trade by occupation and nature. The bar wasn't far and parking was generous, so they arrived fairly quickly. Most of the staff and Lumiere's manager littered around a reserved area, by the corner of the bar. With a quick touch up of her lipstick upon entering, Lumiere waved as they approached several empty seats. The food was plentiful but Lumiere was mindful of her intake, selecting cautiously. It would have been nice to snack like Levi did but Lumiere's snacks would be granola bars.

With an almost indiscernible sigh and a bite of her food, she prepared for social hour.

The tall man let his gaze slide to her nimble fingers and the flawless updo she managed with such little effort. The slope of her neck was enticing, but more than that, he had to wonder how good at PC gaming she might be with a little practice. She certainly had dexterity on her side.

"I hope you're up to that challenge, Illuminati."

The thought drifted away and was lost by the time they entered the bar. With his bag abandoned in the car and his button-up left open to reveal a crisp undershirt, he looked almost as if he'd intended to be here all along. The surprised looks that their colleagues donned and quickly covered up were not lost upon him, but he took a seat on Lumi's far side regardless, placing the petite blunette between him and their chatty work friends.

At least at the beginning of the night he could escape the more demanding needs of social interaction by busying himself in food. He managed to pick the sweetest things the bar had to offer - a selection of fatty, bready foods for the most part, and as much syrup as he could stomach. His body type was always in demand of calories, more than he could usually fill it with, and he made no effort to restrain himself for the sake of her limitations. One of the girls on Lumi's opposite side laughed as she regaled them all with the story of a recent ex. He gave her half of his attention, staring blankly between bites, but didn't even bother with the comforting nods and smiles most disinterested people would have faked for social propriety's sake.

Some of their coworkers were drinking, but they weren't drunk enough to be foolish yet. Levi, himself, had a fake ID - every good music fiend did. He just wasn't sure these were the kinds of people he wanted to drink around just yet.

"Are you drinking?" He asked, of a sudden, leaning in to Lumiere's space so he could speak to her below the drum beat of a cheesy bar song. It was a question without predetermined judgment. Just curiosity.

"We'll see, won't we?"

Surprise and cheers greeted them, the party still in it's prime. She hung her purse from her chair, settling into the seat. She noted his strategic seating but since that was one of the many silent conditions for his presence, she used it to her advantage between the more interested staff members. She couldn't help stifling a smile when somebody pointed out Levi's tastes, joking that he would order the entire dessert menu. Sliding deftly between Levi's lack of interest and the girl's desire for comfort, Lumiere gave her a soothing practiced hug. This was exactly what Levi was avoiding, Lumiere reflected. As the noisy stories paused, someone else chiming in their own similar experiences, Lumiere turned towards Levi. In the body heat of a full table, she left her cardigan droop off her shoulder, down to her elbows.

She leaned in, the bar becoming increasingly noisy with music and voices, shoulder-to-shoulder with Levi. As the person on her other side bumped her shoulder, the closer proximity more than she intended. With no hint to move for the moment, she plucked the drink menu from Levi's side of the table. "I don't think I could get away without it, do you?" She opened the menu to the more trending drinks, assuming that Levi might want to look. Even if he wasn't drinking, there were the non-alcoholic drinks on the page. But she was actually the same age as Levi. However, turning down drinks at social events was much easier said then done-- so she had a more appropriate identification for such occasions.

"What do you recommend?" She scanned the menu, as she pulled her stylish long wallet from her purse, pulling out an ID.

Levi's only response to eating entirely off the dessert menu was to raise his fork in a mini solute and then stuff another large mouthful of cake into his mouth. Everyone always had something to say about his diet, but sugar was fuel for the brain - and it was delicious.

"Probably not, they generally don't accept no for an answer, especially once they've already started" he admitted with a small quirk of his lips as he threw a skeptical glance at their mingling coworkers. As she bumped his shoulder and leaned into him, he threw his arm across the back of her chair casually, but the gaze that drifted across her bared skin before settling on the menu didn't go entirely unnoticed. One of the girls chatting near them watched him as he watched Lumi, escaping his notice but undoubtedly sparking some form of rumor that would spread like wildfire. Fortunately, reputations and hearsay did little to phase the antisocial twenty-something and he never let the fear of gossip determine his night.

"Oh, I know just the thing."

Abandoning their scan of the menu, Levi leaned back in his chair a bit and waved his free hand at the waitress winding through the tables of guests in various states of inebriation. She probably didn't much appreciate being flagged down in the middle of her routine, but Levi didn't appreciate waiting, either.

"Two old-fashioneds, please." The please was tacked on almost as an afterthought and likely not because he felt like being polite, but instead because he recognized politeness simply got things done faster. Whatever the waitress thought of his propriety didn't seem to phase her much, as she instantly asked to see their IDs. Though he emitted his best, most annoyed sigh, he fished in his back pocket for his wallet and set it on the table. In moments, he managed to open it with one hand, then slid the fake toward her. It passed her inspection, as she handed it back with little more than a once-over, but extended her hand for Lumi's as well.

Lumiere looked back as Levi looked at their fellow staff, with a knowing smile that just plainly said it was easier to give in. She didn't notice Levi's moment, much less anyone else that witnessed it. If someone asked her later, she certainly wouldn't have been encouraged by idle gossip or speculation. She might be amused, but there was much more going on that night than just that. Already, Lumiere could see stories in the works, especially with several members who disappeared.

"Old-fashioneds?" She tipped her face curiously to the side, before turning her torso slightly to hand the waitress her own ID. As she turned, she couldn't miss Levi's arm resting casually on her chair. For a nerd, he didn't have the usual nerd physique. As Levi handed his ID towards the waitress, Lumiere couldn't help letting her eyes wander as Levi took out his wallet and slid his card over. Her iris eyes caught a hint of Levi's unbuttoned collar bone, tracing it to arms that worked out from media work. Her breath caught, hitched, tucking a strand of blue hair behind her ear. With her turn next, she struggled a small bit, to keep her glances and timing, excusable and discreet. Flashing a bright and practiced smile, Lumiere thanked her as the waitress handed her own back. The girl who caught Levi, with feminine perception, might have noticed that Lumiere was a little uncharacteristic herself.

"If you're drinking, does that mean I have a better winning chance?" With a lining of reluctance, Lumiere leaned back in her own chair. She took sips of her water, preparing her parched throat for the incoming drink. Her scoop of fruity gelato, arrived moments earlier, was her diet splurge. Without her usual careful consideration, casually considering Levi's sweet teeth, she cut a neat spoonful. She offered it to Levi, noting that he didn't have this particular item yet. "They're supposed to have great gelato, for summer seasonal flavors."

The waitress seemed content with both their IDs and wandered off to turn the order in to the bartender, letting Levi's attention slip back to the blunette at his side. He didn't noticed her trailing eyes, having been too busy studying the waitress for any sign that she didn't believe them. He knew her job though - she was too busy to start picking fights with any young twenty something that rolled through the door. With several other people drinking at the table already, it was clear they weren't the average run of the mill teenage goof-offs.

"I doubt it. I might let you win, though." The smug smirk on his lips didn't falter as he glanced at her eyes, showing how confident he was in his own skills. He wasn't as dedicated to his games as he had once been since he had to balance his time between work, the negaverse and music festivals here and there, but there was hardly a day that he didn't sit down for a few hours to indulge himself. He leaned forward as she offered the spoonful of gelato, not bothering to take the spoon from her. The sweet, cold mix hit his tongue and he smiled around it, nodding with approval even with a full mouth.

"Pretty good for a place like this."

Yet he was cut off as the waitress returned with their glasses. He pulled his arm from behind Lumiere, brushing her exposed shoulders slightly as he did. The touch of skin on skin had been accidental and, though a shiver rushed down his spine, he managed to conceal it with his usual flippant nature. Instead he grabbed the glasses from the woman so she could tend to something else, and set one down in front of each of them. His arm returned to its position across the back of her chair and he leaned over, pointing at the side of the glass for Lumiere to see.

"They start with a sugar cube, then dissolve it and coat the sides. Its whiskey, though, so don't just gulp it down." With her size, he assumed one glass would be all she needed to feel the buzz - and all she'd want, given her general careful calorie counts that she didn't have to voice for him to notice. He picked up his glass and held it aloft in salute to her before he took a careful sip. "My favorite."

"I know when I'm outclassed so," She paused as Levi leaned forward to eat from the same spoon. ".. so I'll take my chances." Lumiere finished the challenging sentence, with another spoonful of gelato. Lumiere looked like she had never touched a game in her life, besides a crane machine. As for her schedule, it was distributed between her personal life, modeling gigs and classes, finishing with her evening tea. She technically still held the spot of the senshi of crystal .. but that held no priority in her life. Even now, her henshin pen sat at the bottom of her bag, subtly hidden in a glasses case, with very little use. She was on her third spoonful when the drinks came. As Levi's arm brushed against her shoulder, Lumiere couldn't help the heated feeling that washed over the area. She reminded herself of the timing and place, jolted by the noise that surrounded them.

There was a subtle sign when Levi returned his arm, but Lumiere guessed that was the natural actions of a well practiced flirt. She would have pegged Levi as that type, considering he wasn't an unpopular type. She lifted the cup slightly as he spoke, tipping her head to look at the drink with pleasant interest. Following his explanation, she gave the sugar cube particular attention, or what was left of it. Generally, sugar or salt were the chasers so this was new to her. Following Levi's actions, she tipped her glass in his direction. She took her own careful sip, surprised by it's sweet and bitter taste.

"Good taste, much better than beer. But I thought I'd get to see you with those fruity umbrella drinks, considering your tastes," She teased, with a mockingly impressed expression. As a rule of thumb, she never drank beer, due to the empty calories. The warming of her throat was welcome, although more than expected, as her fingers traced her neck with surprise. She blinked, realizing why Levi warned to take small sips. It certainly wasn't something to drink whole. She sipped cautiously, using the glass as refusal as several others ordered another round of drinks. Using the moment where everyone started to call out their drinks, she leaned in to whisper in Levi's ear, one hand cupped to maximize volume. "Did you want to sneak out after this?" After all, there food and drinks would be mostly done, with the party prepped to go into another round.

Levi didn't miss the subtle way she traced a finger along her neck, smirking lightly to himself. For his part, he simply relaxed back in the chair, slumping a little and letting his long legs splay comfortably under the table. It was an undeniably 'man pose, an aloof comfort only accomplished by someone who gave literally no ******** about who was watching.

"I don't mind the fruity girl drinks, it's only that I'd rather serve purpose over taste if I'm going to bother drinking at all." He brought his cup to his lips and took another sip, letting his eyes half lid as he relished the sweet burn of it. As the people around him started to get rowdier and rowdier, his interactions with them grew more and more minimal. Even direct interactions were ignored, passed off with a supposed inability to hear anyone.

It was only as Lumiere leaned over and asked him if he wanted to dip out after their whiskey that his face brightened. Though he never gave an outright sign of being overly pleased with anything, the corners of his lips quirked. He took a larger sip of his whiskey, hissing a little as the heat erupted down the back of his throat. Worth it.

"Yes," he managed, once he could speak again, swilling the remainder of his whiskey around in his glass so that it could soak up any remnants of sugar clinging to the glass. He did lean in a little so he could speak to her again, abandoning his casual sprawl in the chair. "I'd rather not stick around to listen to their drunken declarations, really." His gaze flickered to a girl already midhug and giggle, showing the first signs of drunken girl syndrome.

"There's a video game bar not far from here, actually."

Levi's eagerness was contagious. Following Levi's example, Lumiere took a larger sip, wincing at the alcoholic burn. She didn't take it as well as Levi did, ending it with a cough. She reached for the water, unable to brush off it's effects. She followed Levi's gaze, nodding to his suggestion. With a light pat on Levi's nearest shoulder, she smiled, with the silent mouthing, "Leave it to me." To Levi, discreetness had no factor but to Lumiere, it was everything.

Lumiere pulled up her cardigan, arranging her purse on her shoulder. She didn't play the farewell game, that had a habit of pulling members back in for 'one more drink,' turning to much more. She tapped a nearby girl on the shoulder, whispering. "I think I heard somebody wanted cigarettes? I'll grab some," she offered, as the girl nodded. "It's not safe to buy it alone so I'll drag ..." She looked around, as if checking who was free at the moment. Her eyes landed on the lazy green-haired male, in the midst of the drunk party. ".. Levi." She smiled brightly, as she stood up. She slid the chair back politely after exiting, repeating the excuse for whoever was coherent enough to ask along the way. Lumiere tugged her cardigan closer, raising her voice for good-byes. The heat of the bar was swept away by the cool evening air outside, as she opened the door. It felt good against her slightly heated skin, warmed by whiskey.

A video game bar? You could play games and drink? It sounded dubious, Lumiere forced to assume that it was safe if Levi knew about it.
