It was fluke, it had to be, that Cordoba sent herself to her wonder.

Luck? Chance? She had no damn clue, but the Page walked the street now with a penlight in her pocket shining on the buildings around,.

Buildings made of crystals she sure as hell couldn't identify; but the wonder was quiet and somewhat cold but not terribly; however the Page wasn't sure what to make of it.

She walked though, searching and exploring and wondering at the wonder as she realized she could get perfectly lost there among the buildings, and the Page sighed before a boot nudged something.

A ring?

She knelt to lift it, studying the ring curiously before trying it on, finding herself immediately embassed to be wearing a dead man's ring, until a voice thick with Chinese accent much like her mther's spoke behind her.

"It's yours, you know."

Cordoba turned, turned to the etheric sight of another woman she could barely see with long black hair and eyes fixated on her. Based on the uniform, she was a knight too, at least, at some point, but at what rank, Cordoba didn't know.

"Pardon?" She asked. The spectre motioned.

"The ring is yours. You need it to communicate with the others." She murmured, then snorted in Chinese. Cordoba's eye twitched at the use, and frowned, blinking.

"Care to repeat that in English?" She drawled. The ghost shook her head.

"Not important; not important. You are my descendant, then?" She asked Cordoba conversationally. Cordoba blinked.

"Do what?"

"Ai yi..." She groaned.

"You are to be my successor. My descendan. Yes?"

Cordoba shrugged widely, making a confused noise.

"Probably? I'm still new so. Uh. I thought looking around was good. Is it always so dead?" She asked. The woman msade a face.

"No. Not long ago. Not in my time. But it has been horribly neglected. The archives and research may be damaged. You must-"

"Hold up." Cordoba held a hand up and frowned, brow raising. "Who are you anyhow?" Cordoba asked, eyes glaring. The spirit blinked, and bowed.

"Hua Xifeng." She said calmly. Cordoba nodded slowly, then pointed.

"OK, cool. But I'm just here to look around fr now." She said. Xifeng scowled.

"The knowledge!"

"It's dry. They should be fine a bit longer." Cordoba dismissively waved a hand to her ancestor, and Xifeng seemed annoyed a moment before recomposing, sighing.

"Besides, wouldn't they be written in alien? I can't read that. And what do you mean with the ring?" Cordoba held her signet ring up curiously and Xifeng smiled.

"It will aid you in speaking to the other knights."

"Clarify."

"Clarify? Clarify what?"

"Dead or Alive, just Mercury if there's others, that sort of thing." Cordobsa frowned. Xifeng smirked.

"The living. What use have the dead for rings?"

"Hell if I know. For all I know I picked up a cosmic Ouija board." Cordoba shrugged again widely and Xifeng sighed, not fully understanding the terminology. Cordoba shrugged.

"So this is my place?" She turned her light on another building, marvelling at the low glow of things, and Xifeng nodded. Cordoba sighed and looked around before sitting, frowing a bit.

"Looks like a dreck. What happened?" She asked. Xifeng sighed, or seemed to.

"Time, child. Neglect, as I told you."

"Puts out light when I flash my flashlight on it though." The page admitted. Xifeng smiled, nodding.

"Oh my yes. They were made to do so. Once every building glowed with a beautiful light. Now now the city is dark. One day it may shine again, but..."

"We need to find a way." Cordoba completed. Xifeng nodded, smiling faintly.

"Yes. Yes and that will be an excellent first task if you feel up to considering it, child." Xifeng murmured.

"I'll think about it. Uhm." She paused. "How do I get home?" She asked. Xifeng blinked.

"Like many things, it will come to you. You found the way. You can use it to return. Come any time you need guidance. And please, consider relighting the City." Xifenge said softly, seeming to rise, and move off.

Alone again, Cordoba sighed, rising as she walked a bit longer, studying the ring on her finger before nodding, and closing her eyes.

Within seconds, she had returned to her own bedroom, and the page looked up as she powered down, sighing.

"Guess I got some things to think about..."
