I am considered to be quite gentle and pleasant for a squid. Well, at least I try! I'm curious at the sights around the lake and what all these students are doing here, but I sometimes get a bit rough. Not enough to fatally wound a student, mind you, but enough to give them a trip to the school hospital wing. I'm normally busy doing giant squid things by myself, watching the world around me, but wishing I could see what's new in the world outside of this pesky lake. Until then, I'll sit here, like my mother before me, and simply observe.
I enjoy the residents of Hogwarts visiting, interacting with visitors, merpeople, keeping the lake clean, and gifts.
I despise sweet foods, people dirtying the lake, disrespect towards the students or staff, cold weather, and people pinching my tentacles.
I'm afraid of thunder and lightning storms.
My strengths are my enormous body and my strength. Although not as big as my mother was, I'm still able to extend my tentacles out of the lake high enough to stand out. My appendages are also pretty strong. When I can get more than a few around something, there's almost no limit to what I could break! Though I'm very careful around the students and residents of Hogwarts. I wouldn't want to harm any of them.
My flaws aremy tender skin. It doesn't take much to make me bleed, and I'll usually retreat back towards safety when I can feel that something's not right with my appendages. I'm also pretty naive, or so I've been told. When something new or interesting is near the boundaries of the lake, I'm willing to go investigate no matter the consequence!

There's something else I need to tell you... I'm actually quite young! My mother who was the previous resident of the lake was centuries old, while I'm still around several decades or so!
