The park was almost like his second home; a home away from home for an active little boy like him. His parents would often leave him for hours in the park, usually on the assumption that his older cousin would eventually swing by, per their arrangement, to pick him up and take him home. As it was, on this particular day said cousin was simply nowhere to be found. Not that Clifford was at all scared of being on his own. In fact, it was quite the opposite. He loved being left to his own devices. Life became a live-action CYOA and he was smack in the epicenter, the star, the hero!
And he liked that, for the most part.
He'd spent the entire pre-evening swinging from the monkey bars and challenging other kids to climbing contests and who would jump off the swinging swing the farthest and other such games, until finally things started winding down. So there he stayed at the foot of the tree with the park's version of a "treehouse" set in its branches, enjoying the scenery and ignoring the throbbing in his ankle while he waited for his parents to come get him. He was still smiling though, recounting the day's events when he heard a nearby rustle. Turning to it, the brightness in his smile turned up a notch, he looked carefully and tried to see what the cause of the sound was.
"You can come out," he coaxed in his most gentle voice, "I won't hurt you. Unless you're a snake, then I'll probably freeze or start running away like my friend did when he almost stepped on a snake and nearly got bit."

Hadaya was probably not making the best choice by coming out alone, without Navi or Camelot or Shalott or even the ever increasingly awful Chaonis to keep him company. He was a very small little guy, after all, and not exactly good at... most... things. Having help was always a good idea.
Yet he still felt like he needed to come out here and patrol on his own. Looking for... what? Senshi to help? Senshi to awaken? Maybe. If he even could. It was not something he had much experience in, though he knew the basics.
Thinking about it made him very anxious and nauseous, so he tried not to.
He thought he was actually getting pretty good at the hiding thing, though, and scooted along under the bushes. When a voice that was clearly directed at him broke the quiet, though, he was reminded that he did not have any skills at anything, whatsoever. Feeling a bit deflated, he scuttled out from his hiding place, twigs sticking in his fur, and looked up at the young man.
It was always a challenge to pick playing 'normal' cat or speaking, and he tried to ere on the side of caution. he didn't say anything, but did make a very pathetic looking face.

"There's the little guy!"
And little it really was, this particular kitty. Even for Cliff, who always thought that cats were huge because he'd seen his friends' cats which were all so big. And the super-cats were also rather average size...so this one...was interesting. Which had him smiling even wider. "Hey, what are you doing out here on your own? Are you waiting for your parents too, hm? That's cool; we can keep each other company! I'm Cliff, what's your name?"
He half-expected an answer, actually, which would have been a happy surprise, but if it gave him a purr he would have been happy with that. At least in that case he could take the cat home and see if his parents would let him keep it. Who knows, eight time's the charm?

Hadaya was a very tiny cat. Not just because his legs were short and he had no tail to add to his length and height. He was just... generally small. He tried to ignore that, most of the time, but it certainly impeded a lot of things in his day to day.
And humans were always acutely aware of his size. Most of the time, though, it actually worked in his favor. They thought he was cute, and wanted cuddles.
"I'm Hadaya!"
The answer came out before he realized what he was doing. Why was he so terrible at everything?! He was not supposed to let people know he could talk, as most of the time people did not take to it very well. No one wanted animals they thought could not understand them suddenly holding conversations! He was such an idiot, and he hated that he could not control himself even with something that was supposed to be beaten into his head at this point.
He wrinkled his nose and made a very unhappy face, for a cat.
"I... I mean... meow...?"

Turns out that unhappy face did, in fact, add an priceless cute-factor to Hadaya's already adorable face, far as Cliff was concerned. His already wide and bright smile brightened all the more when the cat spoke rather readily--more like fearlessly, actually--and introduced itself. "Man, there sure are a lot of you!" the boy said plainly, extending a hand politely rather than reaching to stroke the feline's head. He asked his cousin--posing it, of course, as a "what if" scenario--about how to greet a talking animal, and his cousin replied rather seriously, saying that it was only right to treat it as you would someone you were meeting for the first time.
Obviously you didn't go around petting your friends on the head when you first meet them, so. Handshake it was.
"I've met a couple of others, Hadaya, so you don't need to hide it from me!" he said, still grinning as he inspected the harness-looking strap on his new friend. "I'm also called Chibi Sailor Urda, if that makes you feel any better," came a quick follow-up, in case the other was still wary of his awareness of the talking cats.

Hadaya was more than relieved to learn this kid knew what Mauvians were, or at the very least some other cat had blown their cover before him. That was a huge weight of his shoulders, and now he could just run on the assumption that someone else messed up first, which made his mess up less... messy.
Or something like that.
Lifting his head up and closing his eyes, he fully expected to be pet or scratched behind the ears, or something, in greeting. When he did not feel any contact, he opened one eye and saw the young human holding his hand out.
"Oh. Uhm."
He lifted his paw awkwardly, settling back on his back legs and lifting his front half up to do so. Thankfully, he was pretty round, so balancing on his back legs, and bottom, was easier than it might have been without the added weight to keep him rooted. He offered his little paw out for a shake.
"Oh, you're a senshi! That's great! It's always nice to meet senshi! And a chibi, too! Oh, that's wonderful! Have you been a senshi a long time? What other cats do you know? Not that I would know them I'm not really, uh... popular..."

His smile went lopsided briefly when the idea of Hadaya not being popular was mentioned, and as he took the feline's paw to give it a little shake he waved his free hand to dismiss the idea. "I'm not sure what's not to like, so if you want you can hang out with me if you're feeling lonely or just wanna hang out!" the boy said with a wide smile, then as soon as he let Hadaya's paw go he proceeded to answer the barrage of questions in a single breath.
"I am a senshi! It's...mostly okay. It's hard because I'm a chibi, but being a chibi also makes me feel special for some reason. I dunno. It hasn't been long though, which is why I'm still learning a lot! I've met at least two others, too." Finally though, he had to pause and take a dramatic deep breath before continuing. "Snowball and Arthur, both white and seriously fluffy cats! And honestly there could have been more. Cats like to run into me while I'm out here, which is cool. Another thing that makes me feel special for some reason. Anyway! Sometimes they're just regular cats and sometimes I'm really not...sure."
When he was done he looked at Hadaya expectantly, forgetting to even ask any questions while at the same time expecting him to answer as many questions as he'd answered just then, and just as fast. And in a single breath, if he could manage. His smile only widened as he blinked and waited.

"I would love to hang out!"
Hadaya was generally always feeling at least a little lonely, and was always in need of company. Even though he could be awkward and bumbly when he did meet someone, he still preferred that to being alone! Who would pet him and pick him up when he inevitably fell down or messed up something if he had no one around?
He needed people. He would have been a goner a very long time ago if left to his own devices.
"Chibi senshi! Oh that's awesome! I mean. I know most people think it's not fair for chibi senshi to be awakened, but I think it just means you're so badly needed, and destined for so much, your starseeds call to us a lot louder than older senshi might. I think it means you are going to do something awesome! I mean. I don't know. I can't say that for sure. You could be like me and uh. Not. Do anything cool. But! I think you'll do a lot better. Am I talking too much? Oh! Well, I do that sometimes."
He smiled despite himself, one ear flattened a bit down on one side, while the other was perked up. It sort of looked like he had an itch, and was refusing to tend to it.
He sat there silently as the other looked at him expectantly, not really understanding what he wanted. Getting nervous, Hadaya started pawing at the ground, then bounced up to give the young human an enthusiastic bump on the underside of his chin.

It was always fun to hear that there were people out there willing to hang out with him, even if he was just a young, not quite all that battle-savvy, chibi senshi. They could always do other things in the downtime, though! As soon as Hadaya agreed, Urda was already starting to formulate what sort of things they could do together. Always exciting! And it was quite evident on his face until the feline start speaking, to which he turned his attention and nodded along, still totally happy that he was being acknowledged despite, again, being a chibi senshi.
When he finished speaking Urda absently crouched down and reached forward to start scratching him behind one ear first, then the other. The silence passed as he continued to look expectantly at Hadaya, but eventually he just decided that maybe the cat didn't want to answer the same questions he'd asked, so he went ahead and broke the silence. "No, talking's a good thing," he replied with a small nod. "I like talking most of the time, but when I'm reading I like total silence. It's easier to concentrate and--"
The butt-head to the chin was unexpected, making it a bit more...effective...and causing him to lose his balance and fall onto his back from the crouching position he'd taken. Slightly dazed, Urda only made a quiet groan as he recovered from the little surprise-attack.
