The 9th Division wasn't one of the original divisions, of which there were far less than thirteen. It started as an off chute of the sixth Division. A sort of mix breed between the sixth and fifth Divisions. They specialize in elemental Zanpakutou and Kidou. Their power with their particular element almost always exceeds expectations. They are very in touch with their spiritual power and are highly specialized, deadly fighters in combat.
Description of Division: Masters of the elemental zanpaku-tou. Though Hitsugaya and Yamamoto have the strongest Fire and Ice zanpaku-tou, the masters of the other elements can be found in the 9th Division. Since the 9th division is traditionally an artistic group, for generations they have published the Seireitei News, which makes the Captain the Editor-in-Chief. Many Captains and Vice-Captains have columns and serials in the newspaper, and various people in the Seireitei contribute photos or illustrations. They are a creative and mixed bunch of people.

►Daisuke was at the head quraters drinking a cup of tea. He wondered what his other squad mates were up to he felt like having a quick spar. He has been taking it a bit easy as of late. He had a bit of paperwork he put off which piled up. He perfered to be in the field not at the division doing reports. He was probably going to see if there were any missions when he was finished with his paperwork..
Aidoneus made his way into the Headquarters of the 9th division giving slight nods to members that were making there way out on patrol. With the lock down lifted things were quickly getting back to normal which was in large part due to the swiftness of the Seireitei's response in dealing with the Ryoka. He was initially planning on making his way straight to his office until someone caught his eye sitting out in the common one enjoying some tea taking a closer look he noticed it was Daisuke the divisions 4th Seat.
Making his way over to where Daisuke he looked over briefly at some of the paper work he had on the table."Good Afternoon Daisuke I see you are in rather good spirits, I take it all has been well in my absence." he spoke clear and precise looking over Daisuke with a keen observant eye. Perhaps he was due for a promotion he certainly already possessed the aptitude for Shikai he would have to bring it up later.

►Daisuke smiled warlmy when his vice captain came in and poured him a cup of tea. He figured he was off dealing with the ryoka. "Yup things have been going pretty we'll its been a bit quiet here. I am just finishing up the paperwork I let pile up. So any new updates on the ryoka?." I would have went myself but I let my paperwork build up. So howd they even get into soul society?he asked as that would be a difficult task due to the many safe guards they had in place. He liked the vice captain he was a bit serious mostly but he was a good person. He wondered what his shikai was as he never seen him use it in combat.
He thanked his 4th Seat for the tea taking a seat across from him, after the fight as quick as it were he could use a breather at least for a moment. "Well as for how they managed to get here I suspect they may have infiltrated the outskirts of Rukon District, then used one of the Ryoka's abilities to sneak into the Seireitei." Aidoneus mused in truth they had no idea how they had managed to pull it off it was all conjecture since both were dead, and unable to be interrogated. "Honestly you did well staying back while we certainly had the situation handled once the Ryoka revealed themselves I can say for certain that the Ryoka were far stronger than even many of us Vice Captains if they had been more numerous we would have had an even worse problem on our hands." bringing to the tea up to his lips he savored the moment as he took a sip.
"You make a good tea as always Daisuke." he complimented letting his shoulders relax as the warmth of the tea seeped through him he had made the right decision to take a moment for himself. It was times like this that really let you savor this moments of peace in their line of work it was never certain how long they would last.

►Daisuke was shocked to here they snuck into the sereitei as even he couldn't sneak into it when he was in the academy. He also listened when he said that it was a good thing he stayed back as even the vice captains had trouble. He sighed lightly he liked fights like those and wpuld rather be there than finishing up the paper work but his vice captain knows best. He wasnt surprised to learn they were dead. He hated hollow and arrancar due to them eating souls but a human with power he felt there was a grey area. Technially they were still living." I wish I could have known why theyd go through so much trouble. I know its wrong but I do feel a bit bad for them. They are living when you think about it. Dont get me wring I would have fought the Ryoka and if ordered to ki I would do so but do you think its wrong?" he asked with a slightly solemn look before he took another sip of tea. He felt a bit of compassion towards the living he thsn returned to his usual self after a quick.sip of tea."Never mind it was just a silly thought. So any more missions?"He asked in a chipper tone
He paused for a moment listening intently to the words silently mulling them over."Wrong....no not at all Daisuke, your empathy and comparison do you credit it is one of your strong suits but when it comes to those who openly threaten the very foundation of the world such things can prove to be a dangerous weakness." Aidoneus took a slow sip of tea pondering for a moment as what to say next he did not want to be too hard on his 4th Seat even other Vice Captains had feelings such as his. "When it comes to enemies like that....the only response is to end them swiftly, and without mercy to do anything less would not only risk your own life, but those around you as well is it regrettable that violence was the only discourse we could come to certainly but when it comes to those who wish to up seat the very cycle of souls...it is our duty to protect it at all costs." setting the tea down he moved to stand up.
"With that being said I would like you to come with me...there is change upon the horizon." He motioned for Dai to get up to follow him. He had been thinking about these next few actions that he was about to take for sometime it was a decision one could not make lightly, or in haste lest you show how much of a fool you are. Even then with all the preparation in the world it still might not be enough for this most herculean task he had set himself up for. Whether or not Daisuke did indeed follow him Aidoneus was already making his way towards not his Officer, but the Office of the 9th Divisions Captain.

►Daisuke nodded as he listened to his words. He understood that if the situation warranted for them to be killed not even shinigami were allowed to use their shikai on those sacred grounds. He still felt bad for them but he woudlnt let it get in the way ." Well I understand what your saying and I dont show mercy but I still retain my feelings for them. I do hope their souls get to rest. Hm sure I'll go with you and change? " he said as he followed him. He was curious as to what he was talking about and seen they were going to the captains office. He was curious about why he was going there but he guessed that it was simply to request a mission or give a report regarding the situation that had occured he followed a few pages behind him respecting his rank as a vice captain he knew it would be rude to walk alongside him.
Captain Sonjo was at his desk, as he most often was. Despite his advanced age, the old man worked longer hours than most in the Soul Society. He was a firm believer that a leader must show that they were willing to pull their weight, or they should be replaced by someone who was. Captain Sonjo had been at it for many long years, and retirement was something he was looking forward to, if only someone worthy of his seat would step up. It was at this precise moment when his spiritual senses picked up on a pair of someones approaching his office. He did not wait for a knock.
”You may enter…” Captain Sonjo did not look up from his paperwork as the door swung open, seemingly on its own.
Aidoneus gave Daisuke a glance a rare smile spearing on his face."Yes just watch, and listen you shall see." the smile didn't last long as he with a breath reigned it back in presenting a professional front as he made his way to Captain Sonjo's Office. He had served underneath the Captain for some time, and while he was certainly getting quite long in the tooth where someone would question his strength Aidoneus always had a healthy level of respect for the man. The role of a shinigami was always a position put into harms way that was merely the way of things so for someone of Captain level to be around for as long as Captain Sonjo had it meant they had survived all the trials, and tribulations of being a shinigami. Frankly it was men like Sonjo that quiet honestly terrified Aidoneus for good reason they were the pinnacle of what it meant to be a shinigami.
As the door to the officer slid open Aidoneus was barely even phased he was used to the Captains quirks stepping passed the threshold to stand before the Captain, and his desk. "Vice Captain Yamiyo reporting in, the 9th along with myself were instrumental in the eradication of the invading Ryoka as of now our casualties have been kept to a minimum." His words were precise, and too the point he saw no point in fluffing up a report. "Also I would like to discuss your retirement, while it will be many years till I reach your level of personal experience in my professional opinion you have served the Seireitei with distinction, and can spend your remaining years teaching the new generation while I take command of the 9th." with having finished all he had to say he waited at attention to see how the Captain would react to such a request.

►Daisuke was even more confused by seeing his vice captain smile. It kind of scared him a bit. He wondered what change could he possibly be talking about. He shrugged it off as he was heading to the office and the doors swung open out of nowhere which surprised him and he jumped back slightly before laughing a bit as he enjoyed the captains personality. He smiled warmly as he walked inside the office."Hey I see your as busy as I was." He said in a cheerful tone. Daisuke saw his vice captain stiffen up while he gave his report and he placed his hands behind his back as he waited. Then there was something else that caught him by surprise he could not beleive what he just heard. Did the vice captain seriously just suggest he retire."Wait what you could at least ask and not suggest it besides who will be the vice captain shoudlnt you wait a bit more. You havnt even considered his feelings." He said as he started to speak up in the captains steed. Daisuke felt close to the captain since they both had playful natures. He also looked up to him and held him in high regard.
Captain Sonjo did not speak, or even look up from his paperwork as he listened to the vice-captain speak. In truth, he had not had much contact with his own vice captain recently. He was often too busy to socialize with anyone, and his age was slowing his work down considerably. As if it were a sign from the heavens, the vice Captain boldly began to suggest his retirement. Captain Sonjo was silent, but then he began to chuckle, and then laugh whole-heartedly.
"You know, there are captains in the Seretei wo would have your head on a spike for suggesting something like that." Captain Sonjo's steel-blue eyes came up to meet Aidoneus' eyes. He held his gaze for a few agonizing seconds.
"Luckily for you, I'm not one of them. I dont know if you've noticed, but I am old. Very old. Some shinigami may be able to keep on going even after age has ravaged their bodies, but not me. I have been thinking about retiring for some time now. I have been waiting for a worthy candidate to show themselves. I like you, son. Follow me. Bring your friend."
With this, The captain shakily stood to his feet and made his way to the door.
Aidoneus gave a nod to the Captain he knew he was making a gamble in stating his intentions to take over the Division in such a way, however the gamble paid off rather well. "Well I can only hope I can live up to the standard you yourself have set for this Division." He responded moving to follow after the Captain. He was certain where ever they were going to be heading would be where the Captain would run him through his paces it made sense after all Captain Sonjo couldn't very well retire if the candidate meant to replace him wasn't up to the task. He felt he was indeed up to the task however he wouldn't truly know until his mettle was tested, and he relished the chance to prove himself. --Exits to Sparring Arena--

►Daisuke titled his head in confusion when he started laughing. He heard his statement towards him and stepped back slightly wondering if he was truly serious until he started to speak. It appeared they were really going through with this. He. Noticed the captain had a bit of trouble getting up but he made his exit. Daisuke was not sure about the situation or how to feel about it. He knew that he was captain for a long time and his vice captain didn't have much experience but he mainly was going to miss him. He stayed behind a moment lost in his thoughts before heading to the grounds.
Like usual, Nyxalene would be silently reading a book as she sat within the 9th Division Headquarters. She had finished everything she had planned to do - mostly cleaning up her living area and such - and now she was focusing on her reward. Normally, Nyx didn't wear glasses. However, her Division would have found out not long after she had joined that she often used them to read. So the woman had to readjust her glasses once in a while, pushing them up the bridge of her nose every once in a while.
The headquarters, much to Nyx's relief, was rather quiet in that moment. Which meant reading was so much more enjoyable.
