The young colt raced across grass trying to catch up with the thing others call a porcupine. It was puzzling as to how it had needles all over but never seemed to hurt itself. He wanted to stop it and examine it. Keir didn't really trust it so he didn't want to get that close to it but he wanted to be close enough that he could get his answers. He slowed down and watched as the creature slipped into a hollow log beneath some trees.
Anxiously he approached the tree and glanced inside, he didn't see anything despite it being the middle of the day. The log was filled with complete darkness and he sighed. He really didn't want to go inside the log, he had no idea what it was capable of and he wasn't to eager to figure it out. He paused for a moment and thought about his options. There did seem to be some sort of a small hole on top of the log. His mind began to come up with ideas as to how he could possibly get the creature to come out.
His amber eyes scanned the wooded area and spotted a stick small enough to fit into the hole. Wasting no time at all, he had the stick in his mouth and was up on the log jamming it in the space. He tried to move the stick but it was stuck on his end. He grumbled in frustration and disappointment. Keir decided that it was time to give it up and find something more interesting.
The porcupine wasn't done with him though, just as keir drexel was jumping down from the log, the creature was exiting. The colt didn't look down to make sure it was safe and was met with an intense pain. He had no idea what hit him, what to do or how to even react. The sound that came from him, he didn't recognize and remained standing, paralyzed from fear.
His entire belly and inside of his legs were coated in quills. He started to cry, fear and confusion getting the best of him. Keir had no idea how he could even go to his mom and dad for help. He was regretting going so far away from them.

A cry filled the air close to where Sventsorggviresh was. Normally, she wouldn't pay any mind to such a cry, though from what she could tell it was a young foal. She had sort of a weak spot for young ones, of course, she'd never fully admit that to anyone. Fire spit out her neck where her mouth lead down it as she grumbled. She moved, her wings flapping all at different times, this made it so she couldn't fly, but it did help her move a bit faster. Of course, she looked fairly silly when she did it. She couldn't control them for the life of her. They did what they wanted. It made her look far bigger than she was, though she was already pretty big.
Her tail flicked back and forth as she moved towards where the sound had come from. It didn't take long before she saw exactly what was wrong. Fire still coming from her long monstrous mouth. She could see what had happened. The victim and the attacker were still there, of course the porcupine was trying to flee the scene. To her, it was lunch, though she let it go and looked towards the foal.
"Didn't your parents teach you not to mess with spikey things?." She said, fire flowing out every once in a while. She wasn't sure exactly WHAT to do with this foal. She was half annoyed by the situation, more than it should have annoyed her.

His amber eyes moved to look at where the voice was coming from that was speaking to him. "Not really..." Keir drexel was being honest with the large stranger. He was starting to become more scared by the second. Panic was setting in that he might not be able to get out of the mess and see his parents again. He started to cry harder.
"I don't know what to do!" He howled out in agony, his body was in extreme pain and he was growing increasingly worried about the situation at hand. The appearance of the large orange and flaming creature didn't bother him, in fact he was curious. He had enough of curiousity for the day and just wanted to be free of his mistake.

She didn't know how much more of his howling she could take. Her ears flicked down and flames came out more than usual. "Stop moving." She spat at him. Common sense was not in this one's head, she guessed. She didn't want to try to pull out the quills by herself, seeing as she'd probably make things a lot worse. Her wings started to flap at all random times again, as she looked about to see what there was for them to use.
Why help this foal, he didn't seem too smart. Then again, he seemed armless and foals were the most truthful things about. I'd have been different if he wasn't a foal. A moments glance, she saw a few birds that could do the trick. She moved towards them and muttered for him not to go anywhere. She'd try to persuade them to do what she wanted them to do with the threat of killing them if they didn't.
She spoke to the birds quickly, and pointed to where they needed to go to help. They knew what to do, and she moved towards the foal with the handful of birds flying about her. She looked to them than to him. "They will help you, but you cannot move." It was going to hurt.... And hurt bad. She knew that, but he probably wouldn't... Well, he would soon.

Keir drexel had no plans of moving any time soon until he was free of the quill prison. "Don't have to worry about that." He said as he spared a glance at the mare and then looked down at the ground. He had no idea what he was in for but he would endure it if it meant freedom. "Do whatever it takes to get me free." After the words left him, he thought he had prepared himself for what was about to happen.
He was a fool. As the birds pulled the quills out one by one, he thought he was going to die. The pain was more intense with them coming out than when they went in his skin. Keir kept his promise though, he didn't move nor did he mutter a word as the birds continued to try and free him from the quills. He closed his eyes and tried to put himself somewhere else, somewhere that pain didn't exist.

While that was happening, Sven decided to look for some plants that would sooth the pain after it was over, and help for a quick recovery. It didn't take long for her to find them the only issue was smashing them up. Of course, her hooves were more than capable, but she thought it best to wait. She grabbed the bush that was filled with the right berries and pulled it right out of the ground. Moving back to where the foal was, and watching the birds do their work. They were quite helpful when you threatened to eat them. Of course, they had no idea that she couldn't fly. That was something she generally kept to herself. Always telling those she rather walk than fly, making it sound like perhaps she had a fear of heights. Wasn't he case.
She dropped the bush at her feet. "When that is over, we'll put these on. It'll help the pain." She said. She still had no reason to help this foal, but then again... What else was she going to do. Let him sit there and die. She'd be no better than her mother. Or most kalona, she gathered. She wasn't a Kalona though. She refused to think. She was better. She just hoped that he was going to learn from his mistakes. She didn't want to have to do this again.
She knew little about winds, other than her father being one. Though she did end up going with him after her mother rejected her. He was just as foreign to her as any other type of soquili. Though, he was a decent enough dude, so maybe winds weren't bad.
