After eleven months in a shabby outpost somewhere in the Amazon, what Finley really, really needed was a good cup of tea that didn't come with the hassle of making it over an open fire or with extra protein in the form of unwanted bugs.

Thankfully, the cafeteria was more than obliging, and for the first time in a long while she sprawled out in a semi-comfortable chair with a warm cup of tea and a long, euphoric sigh. Ahh, true bliss!

"You look comfortable." Radley stood over her fellow hunter with a cup of coffee in her own hands, taking a sip before smiling. Her hair was wild and fluffy - so fluffy you could DIE - and she wore mostly black clothing with purple accents, so one could say that purple was her favorite color. Or black. Or maybe the combination.

"I hope you don't mind if I sit beside you?" She seemed friendly, but a little bit shy as well. "If you'd rather relax, I can sit somewhere else, I don't mind." She hadn't met a lot of the other hunters, but some people just seemed like they had a "DO NOT COME NEAR ME DO NOT TOUCH" kind of vibe going on.

Like Rep. Rep was scary. And loud.

Having closed her eyes and gotten lost in the moment, she kind of hadn't seen or heard the other Hunter approaching. At all.

And she definitely hadn't noticed the other girl standing over her until she'd spoken up, which was why the start she gave was rather a spectacular sight.

"Holy--!" there would've probably been a proper curse following that, but all of Finley's attention went to making sure the cup full of beautiful, marvelous tea didn't spill.

A few fumbling moments later, and she could report that her mission was successful! Well, almost, but a few drops wouldn't hurt terribly. Putting her cup safely on the table and heart rate slowing down, she turned to the other girl. "Wow okay, hi!" Gesturing with a smile to the other chair, "no, feel free to sit down, I think I can safely say that the relaxing has gone away for now."

:: Not really the friendliest of welcoming speeches, :: Zayde's dry voice chimed in.

"Ah! That is to say, you are welcome to sit! A bit of company would be nice, just, uh, a bit more forewarning next time?" A bright grin accompanied the words to hopefully take off the edge.

"Sorry! I'm really sorry!" Radley cringed as she watched the other wrestle with her tea in the air, finally emerging victorious. She breathed a sigh of relief and sat down, adjusting her spiderlike bracelet in a nervous gesture, taking a drink of her own coffee to calm her nerves.

"I should be used to scaring people, but I'm so quiet that I don't really think about it," Radley admitted, feeling a bit bad.

"It's fine, don't worry about it," Finley grinned, dismissively waving a hand in the air.

"I guess it happens a lot then?" Taking a sip of tea, she considered that for a moment, "that must be super handy on the battlefield though. Or if you were a spy!" She eyed the other girl before asking seriously, "are you a spy?"

Although it might be hard to be inconspicuous with hair that fluffy. Super fluffy hair. She'd never seen hair that fluffy before. "Your hair's really lovely!"

no worries! <3333

Radley thought for a long moment. "You know... what I did could have been thought of as being a spy." Indeed, she'd ran with a group of street kids - the lot of them had had no parents - and she was often the lookout for the group because she was so quiet and hardly noticed anywhere.

Of course, that was with her brother, and she idly wondered how he had fared. Her face curved into a small frown, but then lifted up again at the comment about her hair. She turned pink.

"Thank you! I really like it, but I don't do much to it." Often times she just woke up and FLOOF, there it was.

You could do with a little more brushing, Eilissandra commented, and Radley scowled at her bracelet. She could swear she sounded smug.

"Wow, that's brilliant! What was it? Wait, are you still spying now then?" Finley squinted at the other girl, trying to figure out if she was currently on the job or not.

Her momentary trepidation was quickly forgotten when the conversation turned to hair, though. "Really? It looks so great, I was expecting you'd have an extensive hair routine." Like me, was implied but not actually said. "That's cool though, having easy hair." She was slightly envious, actually. "Mine takes some work to look good, to be honest. It just frizzes up if I don't do anything. And not a good frizz," she added, wrinkling her nose at the thought. There were good frizzes and bad frizzes, and Finley's definitely landed on the bad scale.

"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to boast." Radley hadn't meant to brag. She really hadn't meant to brag. It was honestly a chore trying to calm her hair down and she remembered how she'd broken quite a few brushes trying to tame the damn thing.

Often times she didn't brush her hair some days at all, because of how many damn brushes she'd broken.

You haven't broken that many. Only ten. Radley started, nearly spilling her coffee. "Ten is a lot, Eilissandra! That's not counting before you met me!" Sullen, she sunk down in her chair and sipped at her coffee, but brightened at the spying question.

"I don't know... am I?" Radley responded, and flashed Finley a coy smile.

"Why not?" Finley blinked, looking quizzical. "If you've got something to boast about, you should boast about it." She nodded firmly to punctuate her words.

The coy smile made her laugh though, before returning it with a mischievious one of her own; "hmm, I dunno. You'd probably make those James Bond suits look stylish for once, but I'm not entirely sure life on this island is suited for suits. No pun intended." Cocking her head slightly to the side, she tapped her lip with a finger, "but I suppose being a spy means being undercover, right?"

Radley kept laughing. "Yes, being a spy means being undercover. But not all the time. Some of us have to have fun." Giving a wink to the other girl, she took another sip of her coffee.

Mmmm. Coffee.

"I don't really like boasting, though. There were a lot of people - mostly bigwigs - that did that at home and all of them were full of hot air." Her face scrunched up in distaste at the memory.
