Wren had gone into the city out of necessity, not any real desire. He was needing some parts for his leg. He rubbed a hand over his upper leg, where metal met flesh, muttering at the slight clanking with each step. Something was loose, and refused to stay. He needed new parts.

He ignored the looks he got as he walked into town, after all it wasn't every day you saw a goat-man with a metal leg and a kilt wandering through town! As he walked he looked over the various stores, none meeting the needs he was looking for, and he was starting to wonder if he'd ever find somewhere suitable to find better parts than he had in the scrap heap.

"Amalie's Antiquities..." he paused outside looking at the window a moment, and decided it was the best chance he'd seen and pushed the door open, letting his eyes adjust to the lighting differences as he did.

Another quiet day. Amalie hummed quietly to herself as she headed down the stairs of her home and into the 'store' front. As she walked down the spiraling staircase she gazed at several of the antiques lined up along the walls. A counter towards the side showed weapons from throughout the ages while another wall held old vanity items and mirrors. By the register were bins with random knickknacks and other statues and smaller items also decorated other shelves. Every week it seemed the store front changed and shifted with each month also adding new items to the fray. Most that knew her would say that the shop solely existed to hold all the items she had hoarded over the years, but then again they understood that it was the unique items that she held in the back rooms that kept business running.

It was only for special customers and during the night hours that she allowed any access to those 'antiquities' of her store. They were far too dangerous after all for regular customers. Frowning thoughtfully as she went towards the front counter the woman made a small list in the back of her mind of things to do for the evening. I think Ace is coming over in a few days so I still have time on those items...anything important tonight?

"Oh well if they need something from me they can remind me." Smiling faintly Amalie reached up towards a shelf with ancient looking swords and took one down to start cleaning. Since it was slow what was the harm? Kenna wasn't there to dust and several of the shelves looked like they needed some love. Amalie really didn't expect anyone to enter so when she heard the door open the lopunny nearly dropped her sword in surprise, "Hello there!" She waved without thinking and the blade shined as a ray of sunlight flickered in through a window, "Whoops." Placing it back on the display with the other weapons she headed towards the door.

"May I help you?" Her gaze began to linger over him as she waited for his response. Not only had the kilt caught her interest, but the leg was definitely something new...I wonder if he would mind me borrowing it for my workshop in the back? The thought of making off with the teen's leg made her gaze gleam in amusement. That was probably not the wisest thing to do to a customer after all.

Wren was startled to say the least, by the sword flashing through the air, and he'd taken a half step back out of safety more than anything, a brow raised at the woman.

The question tore his attention from the various items sitting around, a feeling of disappointment welling up in him. While there was plenty of items, none that he could see himself destroying for his own use. He tended to use things already broken...and he hadn't been sure what an 'antiquity' was.

"I'm not sure to be honest...I was looking for parts for my leg...but looking around I don't think this is quite the place I'm looking for." he saw no reason not to admit his mistake on coming in. Still, he looked around the shop curiously. "You have a lot of interesting things here though." an impressed note to his voice as he took it all in.

At the mention of his leg Amalie's face instantly lit up with interest, "Your leg?" She bent to look at the contraption closely, "Are you needing a bolt or some gears? Is it cushioned enough where the real joint meets the mechanics?" The mega lopunny knew no personal boundaries as she reached out to tap a finger against the metal, "Is there a rotator for it? Though it would have to be different from a human's considering..." She chuckled slightly at the original question, "Obviously you have one else you would be walking like a pirate on a peg leg."

As his last statement sunk in the lopunny pulled back to smile at him, "Thanks, I try to keep things interesting in here. Makes up for the dust of the items." She gestured again with a light flush on her face, "What you're wanting are parts for your leg right? I mean it's not a mechanic store in here so obviously some old parts aren't going to help you unless you want to make your leg out of porcelain, wood, or something...but I might have a few gears in the back if you wanted?"

She stared up at him hopefully. Please, please say yes. This was like having Christmas in July for her. What a better way to start her day than tinkering on a gogoat's mechanical leg?

"Mmmhmmm. Didn't have the best things on hand to work with when I had to make it, so I finally made a trip here into town to find better things. Wasn't sure what antiquities were, so I thought I'd better look in." it made sense to him, really.

"I'm needing a couple new bolts, a not-stripped screw, possibly a few gears, better cushioning... not easy making a leg from literal scraps." that he'd managed at all, had taken forever really.

"Dusty items aren't so bad though. I meant what I said about literal scraps. I've foraged and collected quite a lot...and my leg came from my pile of things I tinker with."

He pondered saying no, but really he did need some gears and all for this leg if he was going to be able to keep getting around easily on it, and he was spending more time fixing it, than anything else it seemed like. Yeah that'd be helpful iffin yeh don't mind?" there was a gruff note to his words, as if sheepish about getting the help. But really, he did need it.

Shooooot me. Sorry, Liri!!!

Amalie chuckled, "Well unfortunately it's not the best shop for anyone needing mechanics." Though she did have some strange pieces that those steampunk kids often loved to try and add to their designs. Most that came here had different needs, however, and often would prefer something old or odd to help them along.

"A not stripped screw?" Amalie grinned at the comment, "I should have a few of those in the back as well." Though her gaze did gleam as she listened to him, "Seems like you did a rather good job with what you had." She had to admire his work - pretty nice for someone on their own. "Did you have a teacher at all?" She shook her head, "Not that it matters, I suppose. We always have some more learning to do."

"As long as you don't mind, I won't." Teased Amalie though she literally was jumping with energy, "Come, come!" Reaching out the woman grabbed the gogoat's hand and tugged him along after her. Around a few boxes of cluttered materials and some other odd items and through a back door that once she tugged at a light pull revealed a trove of odd parts. "Welcome to my hobby shop." Grinning Amalie pushed a couple of boxes away from a bench at patted at it, "This can be the work table if you want. Now let's see....what do we have that could be of interest?" She started to browse through a few of the boxes, full of metal and bronze gears, before glancing over her shoulder. "Soooo....I might have a bit of a hording problem. Feel free to see if there's anything you need." Oh, there were just so many options for his leg! Would he want it to shoot things or detach? Maybe even a saber could be placed inside...

it's okay! I've been dealing with writers block for ages it seems like.

"Damn." he grumbled a little under his breath at her words. "Doubt there's anyone in this blasted city who could really help me either. Guess it's back to the junk yard for me." it was the only thing coming to mind as far as finding things for himself went.

Though her saying she might have a few decent screws helped him relax a little. "Teacher? No. No. I taught myself how to do all this. Grew up near this fantastic junk site...and just started to tinker...and good thing too, else I'd be be stumping around with no leg at all."

He went with the tugging, surprisingly agile still even with the one metal leg, even if it was easy to tell when he stepped with that leg, it a little heavier on the foot fall than his normal one. Once in her little 'hobby shop' he looked around with a curious looki.

"Niiiiiice...." he let out a low whistle and began to sort through her boxes. Some screws set down, a few new gears that looked to be in better shape than the things he currently had on. "Got any hinges or something that'll make bending the knee a little less stiff? The one I have I had to rig together and it's shite."

Five years later..I'm really sorry. I'll try to get back into the swing of this...

Her gaze softened a bit at his grumble. It seemed that he was having a bit of a hard time then. She would suppose that should she have such a situation then she would just be as frustrated as he was. Amelie pursed her lips as she thought about that before she revealed her room to him, "I suppose that is plenty of motivation. I just hope that there's enough in here for you to tinker with." She had her own reasons for tinkering, mostly curiosity about how the world worked and how she could invent new things for it, but to be with someone who needed to tinker in order to live well that was definitely enlightening.

She glanced towards him, "So have you been without a leg long? If ya don't mind me askin'. If not forgive me and I won't bother you about it. I just have a bad habit of curiosity tugging at me constantly." Amalie paused in her shifting of gears at his request and then after a moment shifted the box back on a shelf before walking towards another storage container, "Should be here on the second shelf..." She pulled out a tray and sat it down on the table next to him, "Bronze, silver, some black iron and normal steel all of varying sizes. See which works best for you..."
