Liam loved his family. Truly, he did. But sometimes he just needed to get away.
'In hindsight, I probably should've checked the train schedule a little more thoroughly before hopping onto one at random.' he thought, sighing and kicking at a patch of sand. Truth be told, the 'last stop' of this particular train was beautiful. A scenic beach town, large enough to have hotels, restaurants, and wifi, yet small enough to retain some rustic charm. Most modern trains would turn right around and head back to the local 'big city' after reaching the end of the line, but not the track Liam had chosen. Oh, no. The train would head out in the morning, reach the city in the afternoon, then turn around and stop back at the little town for the night.
"Gotta love small, family-run tracks." he mumbled, walking along the shore with his jeans rolled up and his shoes and socks in hand. He had plenty of money for room and board, his phone was fully charged, and he had excellent service. So why was he so discontented? Maybe it was the distinct lack of chaos going on - he'd gotten used to his siblings and their civic antics that his own social skills were a bit rusty. And Liam didn't look forward to polishing them for small-town critics.
