Where: New Hemisect City - at Athene's shop! When: Sometime after Bloodfest -------
Of all the scouts, the one Milieu felt she knew the least was Athene. Athene was gorgeous and so very talented. Vremea had gushed more than once over how the seamstress had made this or that, or how she was finding wonderful pigments for the cloth. So it wasn't that there was no interest on the matchmaker's part. Life just had a funny way of making you busy and occupying more time than really necessary. After all, they were part of a team. And a team needed tow ork together like a well oiled machine. Therefore, Milieu decided, it was time to start oiling that little team machine by meeting the one and only Athene.
She dressed and prepared herself for the excursion, carefully picking her accessories and putting lightly scented powder on her body. Each hair was placed with excruciating tenderness. After all, this was a true first meeting and Milieu knew above and beyond all else that first impressions were everything. Especially for a troll such as Athene. Vrem had said that Athene could be a little... Quiet? Shy? Something like that. Eyeliner was placed and so was lipstick. Dressed in her finest clothes, Milieu too to stocking her side satchel with the whiteboard, marker, and some lunch she had made for the occasion. Sandwiches, finger cookies, and some bottles of sparkling lemon water. Tasty! She also placed in some bundles of material she had procured during a sale. Sometimes gifts helped squeak the wheels of civility when conversation failed.
Athene's business wasn't too difficult to find, thanks to instructions she had pestered one of the girls for. The night was nice, the moons hanging heavily and brightly in the night sky. It settled the nerves that bubbled in her stomach as she drew closer to her destination. Soon enough, she stood before the two story building. Approaching the door, she knocked and stepped back from the stoop. I hope she's in...

It was a quiet night, just the way Athene liked them. She hadn't seen many customers in her shop and she had resorted to working on a beaded dress that was taking some time in the backroom of her shop. She was keeping an ear out for her bell, but most of her attention was focused on the dress before her. Well, the dress and the fact that she had wanted to see her friends sometime soon. She had been spending too much time here and felt antsy, felt lonely. The silence was almost too much and she had a radio playing softly in the background as she worked on the beading. Maybe she should close shop today and go up and read, it wasn't like she was getting many customers.
Then, she heard the knock on the door.
Gently, Athene set down the strand of beads she was working on and moved out of the backroom, towards the front. She couldn't quite tell who was in front of her door from the window and she cautiously moved over to the door. It was unusual to hear a knock and already her mind was going over the worst possibilities, drones being at the top of the list. But she schooled her face into a look of calm and walked over, opening the door to find a very nice looking Milieu, to her surprise.
She hadn't interacted much with Milieu but from what little she had, she did like the girl. While initially suspicious, she had proved herself to Athene and Vrem and Odette did think the world of her. So with a small smile, she said "Hello, please come in."

Milieu hadn't interacted much with the other scout, but she knew that if the door was being held open and not slammed in her face, that was a good sign. Smiling, she stepped around the other teen and walked into the shop. It was tidy and nice, and it reminded Milieu strongly of Athene. How many customers did the seamstress get regularly? She sorely wanted to give Athene the bundles of material, but knew it was better to hold off on gifts until after introductions and such.
Uncertain of where to sit, she took out her whiteboard and popped off the pen cap, | I apologize for dropping in unannounced. I wanted to surprise you! Do you have time to talk? I brought some midday respite nutrition. |

Oh, Milieu was mute, Athene had forgotten. It had been buried somewhere in the back of her mind, coming in full force as she saw the whiteboard and she read quickly, hoping to hide her surprise. She had... been forgetting some details lately. But it was nothing. She was fine.
"It's a lovely surprise. I don't seem to have many customers tonight, I was just about to close up shop." She moved to set the little sign on the door to closed, locking it behind her. "Here, let's eat back here. Better than the front of the shop." Athene added, showing her to the backroom that she had been working in. The dress was far enough to the side that it wouldn't be in the way, a little table in the middle with a couple of chairs near it and the string of beads she had been working with on top. She moved the beads to the side, clearing the table to hopefully make enough room for what Milieu had brought. She was, admittedly, hungry.

Oh good, so this wasn't a bad moment to step into the shop. Milieu felt better, pleased with herself that she was bold enough to see this little stray thought through. She followed the other teen into the backroom, all the while looking around and taking in the details of the room. It was nice, and comfortable. It was the sweeping of the beads on the table that brought Mili's attention back to task.
Taking the satchel from around her neck, she carefully took out the lunch components and set them on the table. Her hips swung slightly to a silent song. One could practically hear the humming from her as the matchmaker carefully suited things for Athene and herself. The small packages of sandwiches, cut in halves, the cookies in a little bag to one side, and then a bottle of water for herself and Athene. She kept the material in the bag for now and motioned for Athene to eat.
Stepping around the table she moved closer to the lovely dress. Gently her fingers brushed the beads. It was a wonderful texture, and the stitches were terrific. Pulling back, she sat at the table and wiped off the board, writing down a new message, | Your work is gorgeous Athene. I'm envious of your talent. Who are you making the dress for? | She unwrapped a sandwich and took a bite.

Taking a seat, Athene smiled at the spread. The sandwiches looked lovely and she picked one up, unwrapping the sandwich and taking a small bite. They were just as delicious as she had thought and she chewed as she watched Milieu look at the dress. It was one of her nicer works, she would admit, although there was always room to improve. Already she saw small mistakes in it, beading that was off slightly, a stitch that needed to be fixed.
Swallowing, she read Milieu's question and paused before answering "Well, it was a custom order from long ago but I think whoever wanted it may be gone now." She hadn't gotten contact from the troll in a long time and when she had tried to seek them out herself, had got no information whatsoever. It was like they had disappeared. "I'm really just finishing it now for my own amusement and to test my skill," She admitted, "I'll probably sell it in the end. I hope it finds a good owner."
Even if it wasn't perfect, it was still pretty, and she wanted it to have someone who would wear and enjoy it.

A custom order for someone who was no longer around? Milieu chewed thoughtfully on her sandwich as her eyes were, once more, drawn to the dress. It was gorgeous and whoever commissioned it had a great mind for fashion. Or perhaps it was a rough idea and then Athene had polished it? Regardless... It must have been odd to know that something you were making was thought of by a troll now gone, or possibly gone. There were some trolls in Milieu's life she didn't see anymore, despite all the outings she had done. Were they dead too?
She shook off the morbid thoughts and took to opening her bottle of water. So, she would sell it? Milieu's initial desire was to buy it for Athene, but... Was it better to shower the greenblood in gifts or to get her to give it to herself? Milieu carefully wrote out a new message and displayed it to Athene, | It will fetch a high price when you are done. The work is impeccable and the detailing gorgeous. Have you thought about keeping it for yourself? I think it would look lovely on you.|

"Keep it for me?" Athene murmured after reading, the thought a new one to her. She rarely thought of keeping unclaimed work for herself, always selling it since she made most of her clothing herself. But she had never made anything this intricate for herself, always something like this going to a customer. "Oh I, I don't know. It's pretty but.." She hesitated, unsure what to say before finally deciding to just ignore it for the moment.
"Regardless, how are you Milieu? Has everything been okay? The food you've brought is delicious," She smiled, taking another bite of her sandwich. She had been unexpectedly famished, ignoring food for the dress.

Well the seed had been planted. Perhaps with a few more well placed comments and suggestions sprinkled about, it would sprout to fruition. This was almost as exciting as just buying the dress outright and giving it to Athene. Though, if the greenblood seemed especially against the idea of keeping it, then that would be the final straw. It was her vehement conviction to spoil her dear friends rotten and that included Athene. Oh, she liked lunch? A bright, flushed smile colored her cheeks. She wiped away the words and started a new reply, | Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoy it, my dear. I have been well... Though lonely, I suppose. Work has been slow and steady, so no need to complain there.
And you? You haven't been cooped up in your shop alone, have you?|

Lonely, huh? She had been too, to be honest. She had missed this, just conversation between two trolls."I've been lonely, myself, I must admit," Athene said, drumming her fingers against the table. "It's good that works is going well though. Always good when it's coming in." Even if it was slow, it was something to keep one afloat.
Her smile grew a little more sheepish as Mili hit the nail right on the head. "Is it that obvious? I thought I was hiding it well," Athene said, ducking behind her bottle of water as she took a sip. She had never been a social troll but well, this was going a little beyond just staying at home.

Ahha! So she had been write. Smiling lightly, She wiped down the board and began to write a new response. | Call it intuition. Besides, we've been through some trying times, haven't we? If it's burdening you, you can talk to me.|Talking and listening was Milieu's best skill, and she employed it with due discretion for the needy. | Though, I suppose knowing you have been hiding away means I'm responsible now to get you out of the shop. | Finishing the sentence, she winked at Athene playfully, a sparkle in her eye. PeanutButterpies playing old mili hurts inside hrngfg.
