War.... War never changes.....

The end occurred pretty much as predicted..... Too many people, not enough space or resources for everyone.... The details are trivial at best, pointless, and the reasons, purely human ones......

In the blink of an eye a great cleansing came upon the earth and it was nearly wiped clean of life. a great match struck by the hand of man... lit a fire quickly raged out of control. and the heavens gates opened wide and fire rained down on the world, whole continents were consumed by the flames and boiling oceans. The spirits of man become part of the background of human history of the and destruction that blanketed the earth.

Darkness fell across all of world lasting many years. Humanity all but extinguished by the devastation fled to reach safety, in giant underground vaults,.... . it was many year before the great darkness passed, and these great vaults opened their doors so man kind could start a new....

Those who did not make it to the safety of the great vaults had to endure the harshness of the wasteland that was now the Earth, Time were tough mankind who was the dominant life form was now being replaced slowly by creatures that could come from a man's worst night mare.

Across the wasteland creatures began to come out of the ground itself, giant ants and scorpions larger then dogs and more deadly then anything that had been seen before grew into large numbers taking over the once human lands and making their nest, in the plains and hills monster like deathclaws came about forming communities and bands like packs of wild dogs they attacked anything that wasn't like them, killing man and beast alike......

But all was not lost for humanity, great powers of man arose to fight for what was left of humanity, The great New California Republic to the south, The Enclave to the West, and the Brotherhood of Steal to the East,.... Each with it's on agenda but all with the common goal to save mankind....

But this is not their story.....

This is your story....

The story that is never heard in a bar,... never written in a book and read to children in a school house,... this ... is a story that must be lived,....

The Garden

The Wastelands are a miserable backwards land, where mankind is forced to live in shallow graves. One foot in and one foot out, it's a land so harsh that in the blink of eye whole populations can be wiped from it without a trace. We are born to the wasteland, we live in the wasteland, and in the end we die in the wasteland. But it wasn't always like that, once we lived in great cities that never slept, towns that were safe and homes where we never worried about starving or where our next meal would come from.

The Wastelands, that is where we live and die, but there is a place far beyond the horizon, out there past the deserts and the dangers and all those things that are so horrible they keep even the most seasoned warriors awake at night. This place with green tress and green grass and fresh water, this is the place where we all deserve to live and die, to grow old in, to have children in. This place, this wonderful place... They call it The Garden....

We read about it in story books, hear about it in tales from those that travel the wastelands, hearsay and rumors of the place that all men dream of. But to get there is such a journey that no man dare try it and live to tell about it. No man who ever makes it to there ever returns and no man who returns would dare give away the secrets of the garden.

In times before the great war there was such a tale, they called it Eden, and man was cast from it by god to suffer for his sins. I say that now that man has paid for his sin and it is time to return to the garden, but way to the garden is too much for most. I have paid for my sins, sins in the name of Eden, and when I die on this unholy land and it reclaims me. My journey will be over. So I ask that anyone who should find this letter take with them the package I carry. It isn't much but once you reach Eden it shall reward you with riches beyond your wildest dreams.
