⇨ Layla is a high spirited individual. She loves her work more than anything and despite her young age is a mastermind with the arcane arts. She is aggressive and pushy with everyone, especially people she likes, and has the attention span of a four year old. She is hyper-vigilant to details, but is lost on most social norms. Even though she acts stoic and uncaring to outsiders she is actually quite sensitive and being judged for her magic and work hurts her deeply. She is very affectionate for her subjects and immune to all temptations from the dark. Her heart as pure as gold when it comes to the end of the day.

⇨Technique 1:: Shadow Walking- Layla can walk into a shadow and walk out of another one. She can travel great distances this way though it is very tiring.
⇨Technique 2:: Witch Bolt- Her most used offensive ability. She conjures a bolt of pure negative energy, which causes pain and fatigue in those it hits.
⇨Technique 3:: Command Undead- Any non-intelligent undead she comes across can be subjugated by her magic. If it already has a master she can try to forcibly take command of the creature as well, and it becomes a battle of wills against the other necromancer.
⇨Technique 4:: False Life- This is a supportive ability. She can negate natural necrotic energy in the body and give a wounded or even dying individual a little extra time or strength. The false life energy will only last 10 minutes though, and becomes less effective the more times its cast.
⇨Technique 5:: Ghost Speak- Layla has a strong connection to the undead and the spirit realm. Although she can't directly interact with every spirit she can communicate with any ghost, zombie, wraith, ghoul, revenant, poltergeist, and other assortment of undead imaginable. She understands them and they understand her. A lot of spirits are naturally drawn to her because of this power. Even some you would call malevolent.
⇨Technique 6:: Reanimation- This spell takes at least 1 post to cast. Layla drags the souls of the deceased back into their bodies and summons them under her control. She can control 5 undead at once, can summon one demonic entity, or bring one recently deceased person back permanently as an undead. This ability has a cool down of 12 hours.
⇨Ultimate Technique 1:: Necromancers Shroud- The Necromancers Shroud is a powerful technique that very few can master. It lets the caster temporarily take on the traits of an undead creature. They are as follows.
-Shroud of the Zombie: Layla becomes a zombie. She now is healed by necrotic energy, but takes double damage from positive energy. She also feels no pain.
-Shroud of the Vampire: Layla takes on the aspect of a Vampire. She is now healed by necrotic energy, but takes triple damage from positive energy, and can not go out in the sunlight. In this form she is a master of stealth and can create illusions as well. She can change into a swarm of bats as well to escape bad situations quickly.
-Shroud of the Wraith: Layla becomes a Shadow Wraith. She is healed by necrotic energy, and takes double damage from positive energy. She is also incorporeal and can fly. Normal weapons pass through her, only magic and magical items can touch her. She cannot physically touch anything, but her pool of magical energy is much deeper then normal, and she can cast spells for much longer, and at their full potency.
⇨Ultimate Technique 2:: Aura of Death- Layla summons all the negative energy around her and turns it into necrotic power. She turns her aura into the stench of death and lets it seep out around her and corrupt and poison the air. All living things within 10 meters are damaged and sapped of their life force constantly while in the aura. Undead beings are healed by the necrotic energy. Herself included if she is in a Shroud form.

⇨ Layla was born on the winter solstice during the witching hour. Some say that she had been cursed when she was conceived; dark powers twisting the innocent newborn into something foul. Her mother was the only one she had growing up. The rest of her family's whereabouts are unknown. They lived in a swampy region next to a run down village of fishermen. Her whole childhood she had been harassed and called a Witch for the things that she could do.
It was when she was 8 that her mother became deathly ill. Layla tried everything she could to help her mother get better but nothing seemed to work. Her mother slowly wasted away before her eyes and she could not stop death from coming.... or could she? She knew she had magic in her. It had become painfully obvious when she made candles go out in rooms just by walking in them. Or when she stepped into a shadow and suddenly found herself someplace else. Maybe she could stop death with her magic too.
Layla began experimenting with her magic powers. It was hard on her own. She knew nothing of how magic worked. For days she sat out in the swamp trying to do something.. anything with magic. It wasn't until she came across a dying bird that she felt the strange sensation of magic in her. It seemed to be coming from the poor bird and she wondered why. Curiously she held the bird and felt the necrotic energy of an imminent death flowing through her fingertips. It dawned on her that her power reacted to negative energy and that she would be able to do nothing if she could not learn to manipulate it.
She started with the little bird. Trying her best to stave off its death by drawing out the necrotic energy. Although the bird seemed to be getting better, and her power stronger, in the end the bird passed away anyways. She tried over and over on multiple creatures she stumbled across to keep death from claiming them, but their lives were stolen each and ever time. Time was running short for her mother as well, and Layla became more and more obsessed with her work.
She began to loose hope on her project, because no matter what she did death claimed ever animal she tried to save, but an idea came to her one night while poking the corpse of a dead bird. It's body still gave off powerful necrotic energy. Could she use it to make the bird move again? She began to try and reanimate the dead critters she had collected, and slowly she was able to make them move again, till finally she had created her first true undead creatures. She quickly realized that this wasn't the same thing as keeping her mother alive though, and sat by her mothers side somberly as she quietly slipped away one night...
She could not save her mothers life; not with the power she possessed, but maybe she could save her own life and that of others. She began a long and dark journey to learn more about death and necromancy. She reanimated more corpses. Studied their bodies to see how fast they decayed after reanimation. She created more complex undead beings and even fashioned a little friend for herself. Charles, a small little ghoul that helps her with her experiments. She travelled into the cities to seek more knowledge and while there was appraised for her immense power and intellect. Eventually, she applied at Amaterasu Academy to settle down and share her knowledge with others.
The other mages obviously denounced her magic and skill because of how young she was and how... unsavory of a magic she used. Layla would not be cowed out from her new position of power however, and quickly demonstrated to all how qualified she was of the position with a short display of her monstrous powers. Now that she has a home and a place to study she uses her knowledge to help students and other faculty alike. She still studies tediously on everything she can about necromancy, probably knowing more then all other necromancer put together. Her true goal being that of immortality through a very obscure and taboo art in her school of magic.. the transformation into a Lich.
