- CHILDHOOD Minnie was raised by her maternal grandparents, Orville and May Fenwick. Her grandparents were quite strict and always seemed to have no patience for any 'nonsense', meaning fairytails or magic. Both muggles, Minnie's grandparents had four kids, three were as ordinarily muggle as them, their third child, Abigail Fenwick, was different: Abigail was a witch. Orville and May were happy to send Abigail to Hogwarts where she could build her talents, but as Abigail went through school, Abigail grew more and more distant. She didn't want to come home for the holidays, and during the summer she often would sneak out to spend time with her friends-the wrong sort of crowd. Abigail, unlike Orville and May's three other children who stayed at home to go to school in town, had adopted a far more care free lifestyle.
At seventeen, a year before Abigail would graduate from Hogwarts she declared "I'm a witch so I'm an adult and I don't need you two bossing me around" and left home not to contact them again till three years later when she called to let her parents know she was pregnant and she was planning on aborting the child as it was the product of a one night stand and she didn't want to contact the father out of 'not wanting to bother him'. Orville and May agreed to take the child in and let Abigail stay with them on the condition she did inform them of the father's name in the case the child ever asked. Abigail decided to oblige only giving the name "Deveron" and that he was "amusing enough" and from some "old wizard family but she didn't remember the last name".
Three days after Minnie was born, her name the idea of May Fenwick, Abigail disappeared, never to show up again. In the meantime, the couple were determined to raise Minnie without any knowledge of the wizarding world, and when odd things happened around her denied their existence. Minnie's grandparents felt that being a witch had put Abigail on her reckless course and were determined to raise their granddaughter "right" like their other three children. Unfortunately, for Orville and May Finwick, on Minnie's eleventh birthday a very short man by the name Deveron appeared at their door with Minnie's letter to Hogwarts. It did not take long for between Orville, May, and Deveron to come to the conclusion the school governor so happened to be Minnie's real father. After much argument about Minnie going to Hogwarts, Orville and May gave in at Deveron's insistence and reluctantly agreed to work with him in assisting Minnie in her wizarding education.
