The sire and the dam are the leaders of the group, they may not be related to
some soquili, they might not even be their biological mother/father but the
Sire and the Dam are the mother and father figures of the group. They are
equals but do not need to be lovers or even related. They are the main
decision makers so they need to have compassion for the group, but they
also need to be rational individuals.
