Humming a light, rather lovely little tune to herself, Ivette trotted with grace and poise as she traveled with a mouth full of freshly caught game. Well, two coney, which for a mare her size was enough to make it far too difficult to carry anything further. But hunting was easy, it seemed, to come by in the new territory that she and her mate had ventured into. It was plentiful in almost every way! Great coverage, excellent shrubbery, and vegetation to graze on. Not to mention the clear, cool water that was abundant in pool, and stream form! Returning to the little area they'd rested at the night before, with her bounty, the mare gingerly placed her kill on the floor, using all the elegance in the world that was instilled in her. Licking her chops, to clean the smearing of blood that coated it, glowing eyes flickered about in search of her stallion. While she wasn't the coddling sort, she had brought an extra rabbit, just for him. It had been there, after all, and surely he was hungry as well for a spot of meat.
Lunadriel crappy start ft. me always.

Even in happy days, one should not forget that which haunts them. Zahid knew this all too well. Any time spent apart from Ivette, stressed him out and made him more cautious of his surroundings. As if only when he wasn't with her, something bad would happen. The world would find some ill event to separate him. Not that he was a worrier, it was just the luck he had. Zahid lightened up though, when he was out hunting for food, and a quail startled him. He jumped, and then laughed at himself, relaxing a little. Times had been good to him. Perhaps being around Ivette gave him good fortune for his otherwise bad luck. Letting that quail escape, not so lucky. He had found a nice fat duck by the pond though. He would of killed two, but there was only a few left. Better to make sure there was enough left to procreate. That way, they could have duck again, should they choose. Zahid wasn't the type to use his mouth, but more to use his sword. He had lobbed the ducks head clean off. Now, he wandered back towards the oak he and Ivette had shared the night sky under. The duck, he carried by a leg, leaving a trail of blood till the bird was bled out. Almost back to the oak, he heard someone approach! The nervousness returned, as he dropped the duck, and rushed forward, ready to grab his sword. Anyone who tried to harm his mate, would taste a slow death from a thousand cuts from his steel. He burst through the brush, and softened at the site of a pristine white face, dappled with blood. It was Ivette. "Well hello there." he grinned at her. He walked over to her, and licked blood off of her muzzle. "I missed you." The duck, he forgot about momentarily. Nor did he notice the two rabbits. Those green phosphorescent eyes had a way of putting a spell on him.

She didn't like to stay dirty for very long, and wasn't really the patient type. Tail flicking and curling around, bouncing the key attached to the end skillfully, she gave a small huff of air as she awaited the return of the stallion, unable to reach a few spots further up the bridge of her nose. The mare only wrinkled her skin there a little, the freckles gathering, but for just brief moments. After all, she didn't want to encourage the wrinkles to remain longer, or arrive sooner, than they should.
Shifting her weight, she was just about ready to go in search of her mate, when the familiar sound of his heavy hoofsteps drew her attention, blinking with surprise at his sudden appearance. He certainly showed up with a great deal of gusto! Crooking a brow, she snorted daintily, "My goodness, Zahid, you came back here with the power of barreling bull, now didn't you?" she hummed with inquiry etched in her expression. But it relaxed as he doted upon her, fangs exposed more as she smiled lightly from his display of affection onto her. "Well then you shouldn't leave my side for so long, now should you?" she only gently chastised, though it held some playfulness laced in her tone.
The grooming was appreciated, and she turned her snout in a few directions for him to get at the other areas, "I will admit, I do not like our partition from one another during our hunts. I am always worried something ill will befall you, and I will surely have to dirty myself with some sort of unsavory characters blood." she sighed, stepping closer to press herself to his chest affectionately, "I shall tolerate no one crossing my mate with unpleasant intentions." she declared matter-of-factly. After all, he was hers now, and what belonged to her she would not allow to be marred by another.
"I was able to catch two rabbit, one for you to enjoy as well. But do not get used to this extra bounty, for I do not want you to become too spoiled with expectations."

"Ahaha, sorry m'lady." Zahid never wanted to upset her. It would of been worse, if he had come bursting through the bush with a sword pointed at her! He was glad that didn't happen. His apology, for both not being at her side, and for barging into the area. Zahid liked the taste of the blood on her muzzle, mixed with her own smell. He couldn't help but smile at her, as she talked of him, and the chance of something bad happening. Ivette might be well kept, and her coat always tidy. She was not a mare to be trifled with. She was strong, and could fend for herself without a stallion to support her. What's more, Zahid knew she would always do more than have his back, she would be beside him in any danger life could throw at him. "My Ivette, I would never loose in a battle, if it meant being without you. I would be fighting for more than just my life, but for the life that I love in you." he curled his chin around the back of her head, as she pressed against him. He leaned in and gently kissed her forehead beneath her silky bangs. "Oh! Well done. Thank you." he said, having forgot about the food she brought too. So easily distracted by love. "I have some small game for you too. One moment please?" he asked. Zahid stepped back into the thick of the forest, and plucked the plump headless duck up from it's hiding spot. This time, staining his muzzle in the process, intentionally. He grinned and set the duck down before her. The blood stain was light on his mouth, the duck having already drained out. He smirked and looked at her, hoping she would in turn, clean his muzzle. "I hope it's alright to have duck and rabbit for a meal. Would you like me to carve the feathers off the duck?"

The sweet words laced were still new to her, but plenty welcome. With a pleased smile, her eyes narrowing to mirror her approval, the mare basked in his attention and unyielding love. "Good. So long as I still draw breath you are not allowed to leave me." she confirmed. With a gentle nuzzle under his chin, her lips curled into something wry, fangs peeking out a little more again, "especially once we are to have children. I won't stand for being a single mother." the topic was brought up casually, as though something that was to be, rather than something to even be brought up for debate or discussion! But she was a female who got what she wanted... being swayed of her desires did not happen often.
With the mention of his own game gathered, she peered around him to eye the caught duck, tail giving a gentle flick behind her with interest. Duck was such a divine treat, the thick meat nice and fatty, making it all the more succulent. "Very good, Zahid, it is just what I was craving. How did you know~?" she cooed to him, stepping closer to reach for his muzzle in turn for a sweet, affectionate grooming. She took her time getting every little spot, each rise and divot, having grown fond of this method of expression towards her beloved.
"Yes, you would do far better in preparing it than I. Then we can enjoy a nice bath afterwards~" although, her ear twitched lightly as a breeze brushed past them, bringing with it a scent that.... reminded her of something... igniting thoughts of her herd back home. Her head turned to look towards said direction, glowing eyes narrowing. Surely it was just a trick of the mind and nothing more...

Zahid nodded when she talked about kids, as if it was nothing. That is, he typically agreed with anything she said. He was used to giving her what she wanted. However, the thought had not occurred to him really. He flustered a bit, and swallowed a huge lump in his throat. Did he want foals? There's no reason why they couldn't have little soquili of their own. Zahid grew humble at the idea of spending a lifetime with Ivette. Great honor would be found in bearing her foals, and raising them by her side. As she spoke of the duck, his mind hung on the previous thought. As she cleaned him, he turned red. Oh I do so hope that my fur looks stained from the blood. he thought, hoping to hide his hot red cheeks. Zahid isn't the shy type, but suddenly, he couldn't help but feel a little shy! He moved to the duck, and fumbled clumsily with it. Letting his bangs hide his face. Why should he play coy? It's not like they had just started dating. And they definitely spent most of their time together. In the past moons, the two had become quite the item! Never parting for longer than a hunt, or other short afternoon trips. He couldn't imagine life without her now.
As he was using his sword to de-feather the duck, he heard her offer of taking a bath. This made him blush even harder! He did his best to hold back a boyish giggle out of nervousness. Kids!
Zahid made quick work of the duck. Even though he sometimes got a little clumsy with that sword, he still had great skill at using it's edge, bending it to his will. It helped to keep him distracted from his thoughts. He didn't even notice Ivette's uneasy stance, as if something or someone, was out there.
The parts with no meat were removed, and the bald bird sat waiting to be consumed. He placed it with the two rabbits that Ivette had brought. These, he did not skin. They were easy to eat, even with the fur. Plus, if they were full after the duck, they could save them. He could string them up in the tree, to keep predators at bay. If they decided to leave this spot, he would carry them when they left.
"Tuck in my sweet Ivette." he smiled at her. He would let her have the parts she wanted first, then take a portion for himself. Never eating more than she did, so as not to be a glutton in front of her. Taking a share larger than hers, not something he was ever comfortable with. Zahid tended to only eat what was needed anyways. Staying in shape more important than stuffing himself for the winter he didn't need to prepare for.
