A Raven's Feather For My Hair....
[USERNAME]: Fatal Irony
[NAME]: Lady Eydís Snærblod [MEANING]: Derived from the Old Norse elements ey "good fortune" or "island" and dís "goddess". [GENDER]: Female
[TEMPER]: Cold [PERSONALITY]: Eydís highly favors order and discipline, expecting everyone around her to show the proper respect to those above or below them. There is a clear chain of command and she expects you to follow it without question. She commands respect wherever she goes and in her wake is a mingling of fear and respect. She does not tolerate foolishness or actions that put oneself or others at risk. The Tribe is only as strong as its weakest link, and so she seeks to educate and train wherever she sees it needed. She commands with an iron claw, brooking no argument with her orders. She is stubborn and prideful, believing herself to be blessed by the Olmattir. She can be seen as cruel for her harsh punishments, but she does what she does out of love of her Tribe and the desire to better everyone around her. She may seem cruel, but she is also fair and will often punish a group for the mistake of one, to build camaraderie and help others learn to lead their peers and get each other in line without her need to.
[ROLE]: Dreng, Thegn, Huskarl, something in this vein. She will aspire to rise in rank and take charge, it just depends on how high up you want them all to start.
[FUTURE PLOTS?]: 1. I want to get a squad together and actually go on patrol, perhaps run into some sort of situation that requires teamwork. Perhaps a goat trapped on a cliff in a storm, someone falling through ice or down a crevasse, or maybe meeting some sort of predator. Whatever the issue, Eydís will have to take charge and bark orders to be obeyed, all to the benefit of the group.
2. Eydís would also like to take part in training, so perhaps some young adults who need to be whipped into shape and taught to work as a unit. I see her as sort of a drill instructor, and she'll be fairly hard on them, but only in order to build them up and make them stronger.
3. A softer side: Eydís may be a hard-a** when it comes to training and missions, but she isn't completely heartless - quite the opposite! She just has trouble showing her feelings. I'd like someone to see her in this light, maybe catching her creating a piece of art, or singing (she has a lovely singing voice), or something. This might completely change that soq's opinion of her to the better and perhaps change their behavior towards Eydís.
[DO YOU SWEAR TO UPHOLD ALL THE BELIEFS OF THE TRIBE AND ALSO STAY ACTIVE?]: Yes
[PROMPT CHOICE #]: Prompt 3 - Your eldest sister is next in line to be Queen. She will rule over the Tribe until she dies or decides to step down. There is much celebration to be had within the caverns! Are you happy for her? Envious? Angry? Do you partake in the festivities or leave the caverns upset? [RESPONSE]: Eydís entered the main cavern in a line with her many sisters, the eldest at the helm of their little band - the guest of honor. There were so many noisome celebrations down every path the mare looked down, disorderly shouting and chanting and singing all in the name of her sister. She stood straighter, her head held high with pride to be part of it all. She, blessed of the Olmatir, sister to the Queen, would command much respect among the herd. She would do all she could to earn that respect.
She also made a silent vow to do all she could to support her sister. Being a Queen certainly was no easy task and she would need her sisters' support no more than ever. Eydís would rise in the military ranks and be her guiding force on that front if she could. She wouldn't let her sister fall from grace, not ever.
She shook her head to clear it, though soon enough it would be murky again. They'd reached the main celebration and libations were already being passed around. Eydís would maybe not remember this night so clearly, but she would remember her vows in her heart she knew. She let a rare smile brighten her face as she watched her sister take her rightful place and let the warmth of pride wash over her.
Yes, she would remember.
