It was a new day. The very beginning of one at least. It was two o’clock in the morning, a time which Anna was surely sleeping. It was nice, being alone in a cold bed. Something that happened often, but she never forgot to appreciate. The girl rolled over in her sleep, eyes opening to glance at her sleeping roommate. Emily was always there, next to her. It was one of the many things Anna loved about the girl. A smile reached Anna’s eyes. She glanced at the clock once more before turning back over. However, before she could make the full turn, a buzz came from her phone. Just a text, Anna thought. The buzzing continued, a few more texts coming in. The pressure to answer the phone was great, a pressure the girl have into. “Wake up, b***h. Meet me in the lobby.” Was all it said, over and over again. Part of her wanted to just roll over and ignore it, but another text came through. “You don’t want to miss this.” The girl pulled her long blonde hair to one side of her head before sitting up. Why as the girl so curious? Wasn’t there a saying about a dead cat? It was too early to think about that, so she didn’t. Anna looked down at her appearance. The large white shirt all but covered her lacey black shorts. Her long legs were completely exposed, but again it was too early to think about wearing something more practical. She put on the nearest pair of flats that she could find. Anna didn’t know what was going on, and nor did she care. A yawn escaped her lips before grabbing her keys and putting the lanyard they were attached to around her neck. She made it down the seven flights of stairs, ignoring the dorm elevator, just to find a group of boys playing Ping-Pong and a girl sitting at one of the many couches. A buzz of her phone. A text reading: “Come outside if you want to play.” Why was everything so cryptic? Something inside of her screamed to just go back to her room, but Anna ignored this feeling and pressed on into the night. The cold air hit the girl like a ton of bricks. If it was any colder it would be snowing. The girl almost yawned again, but the cold air stopped her. A car was waiting out front, which flashed its lights at her. She of course knew not to get into a stranger’s car, but of course she would anyways. In the dark of the car the girl could barely make out the figure of her friend Margret. “Seriously, b***h, that is what you are wearing?” Margret asked. Of course the other girl was head to toe glammed up, which didn’t surprise Anna at all. “It’s two am, are you really going to judge my attire?” The girl asked as the car started to go. “Where are we even going?” Anna asked, looking at the group in the car. She didn’t recognize anyone, but Margret. This wasn’t typical for the girl, well none of this was typical. Why had she been woken up, just to get into a car? It was a short drive, Anna didn’t recognize any of the turns. However, the group did end up at a local diner that she recognized.
