How about the plot is about trying to find a way to make the underworld livelier? The place has always been dreary and boring so we try to find a way to change it by using the party as a way to spark some life in the residents. Some of us try to bring more fun and activity for everyone as a way to show that the underworld isn’t the end to everything. Maybe some hosts want change, no change, and then neutral?
Day 1: Introductions and excitement for the party. Except for the guests and hosts none of the other residents (unseen) are participating. Small incidents happen like the radio keeps changing stations to depressing classical music, the food mysteriously has sad faces on them, paintings of people on the walls has frowns, weird posters appeared with demotivational messages on them.
Day 2: Leader hears word that some of the residents are acting a little more lively and are participating in the party. Others are more reluctant and want the gaians out of their realm as they fear that the things that are going wrong in their realm so far are because of them. People doing limbo are suddenly knock down like dominos, people who are dancing suddenly get their hair caught on fire even though they're not near any of the candles, room decor falling on people causing some of them to lose limbs. (Maybe a game to help find someone’s limbs? Solve the clues.)
Day 3: Cross over? Spirits who were held in prison during the party escape causing more havoc. (A game to get all the escapes back in the prison?). Cerberus is acting naughty and is ruining stuff so everyone is trying to get him under control, Rocks are falling, earthquakes causes floors and walls to crack.
Day 4: Nothing gets better the hosts lose all hope. All leaders leave their realms to discuss their final decisions. It was then they figured out something is wrong about the doors location. Realizing what is causing the bad luck they work together to try to make things right. Once that is settled, the party continues. Underworld residents started to act more lively and fun loving. Realize it's safe to stay and leave the doors/portals open.
