Personality: Azazel is, at heart, a very friendly and kind young man. The type of guy who wants to see everyone succeed, and help the weak. Despite this, he hesitates to talk to other people due to the fact that the "game" became reality; He doesn't like to trust others, as they could easily throw him under for their own goals. Azazel likes to observe others, and keep a watchful eye on everything around him. Though he may feign being uninterested in people, he is always watching, looking out for himself by gathering as much information as he possibly can. Because of this, Azazel always has his poker face on, never knowing how intimidating he really looks.
While he may be observant and what not, he speaks and acts in a nonchalant manner. Almost as if he doesn't care. Azazel does not like doing any type of work that he feels will not benefit him. His laziness is very evident when making decisions about quests and jobs, especially from other players. The young man is not the type to quit, and always gets his work done... Eventually. Again, it is a mixture of both lazy and cautious habits when it comes to FAO questing for him. He does have his set of serious moments, and knows when it is time for him to stop joking around.
Likes:
.xx► Relaxing: Whether it be an actual nap, or just sitting down and basking in sunlight, he loves it. Being able to wind down and forget his worries is Azazel's favorite activity.
.xx► Puns: A good pun will have Azazel rolling on the floor trying to catch his breath. He loves a good play on words.
.xx► Martial Arts: Being a practitioner of taekwondo and jujitsu since he was a lad, he has come to love hand-to-hand fighting.
.xx► Gaming: Playing video games, mainly of the action/fantasy genre, has been something he has done since he was small. When FAO was first announced he was incredibly excited for it... Emphasis on the past tense was...
Dislikes:
.xx► Taking Orders: Azazel is not a fan of having people tell him what to do. He likes to work alone anyway.
.xx► Bragging: Azazel is a man of action, and doesn't like to boast about his skills. He absolutely hates people who think they are above others, always saying how great they are... Its annoying.
.xx► Bullying: As a victim of bullying, he hates to see others being picked on, especially if its one person against a group. Sometimes, he may step in, if the bullying persists while he's around.
.xx► Bitter Flavors: Sour candy, grapefruit, unsweetened coffee; These types of foods and beverages are the kind that Azazel hates.
Strengths: Azazel has great combat instincts, and is able to read his opponents very well. With his Monk/Shaman build, he his able to deal with foes at both close and long range. Being able to adapt to the situation is something he can do, given his abilities.
Weaknesses: Teamwork is something he lacks in this game. As he has a hard time trusting others in the game, he has the tendency to try and do everything himself. Also, illusory type techniques work well on him, as he has no real defense against attacks dealing with his senses. IRL, he always had an issue with thinking of strategies on the spot, and always left everything to chance. The game has changed this flaw in him a bit, as he is now forced to do this on an everyday basis.
History: Jeremiah Paige lives with both of his parents, and two siblings in a middle-upper class type of setting. As the middle child, he seemed to get the least amount of stress from his parents(mainly because he learned from his older sister on how not to act). And due to not being bothered by his parents very much, he started to ask for video games. Being the "good" kid allowed him to get pretty much anything, as long as he kept his end of the rope up with chores, respect and good grades.
Jeremiah's video game choices were all action-based, and included monsters and magic. The heroes in these games always seemed to have a good moral compass, and once he started to play rpgs, his choices followed suit. This translated into real life, as he felt he was like those heroes... Without the magic. He wanted to be "strong" like these characters, and googled certain ways he could do that. As soon as he brought up some weird sword training class to his parents, they denied him. However, they did bring up martial arts classes, which to Jeremiah was the next best thing. And so, at the age of six, he began taekwondo.
While he was not the most athletic kid, Jeremiah had the heart and determination to get better and follow in the footsteps of some video game characters. He made incredible progress in the martial art, and even placed in the top 3 at some tournaments. However, by the seventh grade, he began to get ridiculed by some of his classmates for being a "geek" and a "nerd". A straight A student who liked to play video games all day? "Grow up" they would say, "get a life". The bullying persisted, all the way up until high school, where he changed school districts. Luckily, nobody knew him there so they wouldn't make fun of him for being a nerd. He grew distant from people, and still had no one he could call a true "friend". The young man also stopped basing his life off of video game characters, and focused on martial arts and schoolwork. His love for video games never faded, and he still played them in his free time. Jeremiah became a closet geek, basically. No one suspected it either...
Jeremiah pestered his parents to buy him the newest game, FAO. There was no way in hell that he was going to miss the opportunity to actually LIVE in a fantasy game. And so, as soon as he got the chance, he started to play. And then he was stuck. No logging out.
Goals: Azazel lives to survive, and wants to get out of the game as quickly as possible.
