The puffski that had said "Buu you later" to Megrez had apparently not been kidding. It had reappeared in Henshin Alley, enthusiastically hopping out of a pile of garbage. The others must have stayed home, for no others had returned. It spent tonight skittering around Megrez's feet as she patrolled, periodically puu-buuing and scuttling off in some direction. Sometimes it would return with a trinket in its mouth (mostly garbage); other times it would puu-buu insistently till Megrez followed. It added an interesting element to just wandering around the city, to be sure. As Megrez followed her puffski, she began to feel something big in the distance. Order-aligned and most likely a senshi, but big. It was certainly worthy of investigation; she wasn't sure what she would do if it was Castor in full Prince regalia, but surely there were other Senshi Royals that she didn't know about. Cautiously, she scooped up the puffski and headed in the direction of a park with a playground, peeking around corners to see if she could see the source of the huge aura.

Ganymede was still getting used to her newfound powers.
A part of her didn't want to believe it. It was a difficult thing to comprehend, how and why this had happened to her. Or perhaps it hadn't happened so much as come to be. That was a strange thought, to think she'd always been this way, she simply hadn't known it until the threat of Laurelite forced it out of her.
She should have been more careful about wandering around Destiny City fully powered. Laurelite could be out there anywhere, waiting for the right moment to attack. But Ganymede wasn't the type to hide. If this was who she was meant to be, then she would be it. She'd handle the dangers that would likely arise as they came to her.
She felt the approach of another Senshi nearing the park of the edge of her senses. This relieved her. She wasn't in the mood for a Negaverse encounter tonight, not when Valhalla still lay in the hospital.
Ganymede was further relieved to see that the Senshi was a familiar one.
“Megrez...”

The voice sounded familiar, and when Megrez emerged from where she was (sort of) hiding, she was immediately taken aback by the sight. "Ganymede?!" She stood and goggled at the beautiful Princess who was unmistakably the source of the giant aura. For a moment, she was speechless as her mind filled with questions, but finally one came out. "What happened? How did you...?" The puffski began to wriggle around in her hands. "Puu! Puu! Puuretty!" it said, apparently equally mesmerized by Ganymede's new getup.

Ganymede managed a small, tired smile—more a quirk of the lips than a real smile. She didn't have the heart to be happy while Valhalla remained unconscious in the hospital, but at least she could look mildly amused.
“I'm not entirely sure,” she admitted. Then she explained, “Valhalla and I ran into Laurelite. She tried to corrupt Valhalla. My husband, that is,” she clarified in case Megrez should not know who the knight in question was. “And then this just... happened.”
She silently cursed herself for the weak explanation, but it was the best she had at the moment. It had only occurred days ago. She was still getting used to what she'd become.
In any case, she was soon distracted by what Megrez was holding. “What is that?” she asked.

"Oh no," Megrez said when she heard about the event. She had yet to run into this Laurelite yet, but she sounded like bad news. "Did you stop her? Is he okay? And... it just happened? Like, poof, you're a princess?" She would actually be satisfied with things "just happening." That was how many things came about, really. She had an important question on the tip of her tongue, but then Ganymede addressed the wriggling puffball in her hands. "Oh, this? He's something called a puffski. They were all over the city a few weeks ago. They lived on my homeworld in ancient times. I think they can travel from world to world, and that's how this one came back to find me. And then brought all its friends to Earth." With surprising force, the puffski launched itself out of Megrez's hands with a "Puuuuuuu!" She made a small startled noise as he scooted forward to Ganymede and then started running back and forth under the train of her dress, covering and uncovering itself with the drape. "Puurincess, Puurincess!"

Ganymede was too distracted by the puffski to immediately answer Megrez's questions. It ran around her feet, rustling the layers of tulle that draped down in the back.
“It's... cute,” she said, her smile widening just slightly. When it emerged from the tulle again, Ganymede carefully lowered herself to her knees on the ground and reached out to touch it—cautious, but at the same time sure it wouldn't hurt her.
“I stopped her,” she said then. Her smile faltered somewhat as her memories took her back to that night with Laurelite. “And Valhalla's... I don't know if he's okay. I think I managed to save him, but... he'd still in a coma. I don't know if or when he'll come out of it. It was a really close call. I don't know how much damage was done to his starseed. He was so close to being corrupted, I... I'm not sure what's going to happen to him from here on out.”
She cleared her throat, which grew sore and tightened as she spoke.
“It's stupid for me to be out here like this,” she said then. “I think I must have done it on purpose. Looking for revenge against Laurelite or something.”

The puffski gave an enthusiastic "Puu!" when Ganymede touched it, hopping up and down. "Puurincess! Puuretty!" Megrez chuckled despite herself. "I think he's smitten with you," she said, though her cheer faded as Ganymede relayed more of the story. "I... all I can say is that you'll be in my hopes and wishes. I pray that both of you come out of this okay." It sounded a little pretentious, Megrez thought, but it was true. She shook her head when Ganymede said it was stupid for her to be out here. "It's not too late to power out of Princess form- you can do that, right? And besides, even if it draws attention, it lets people know there's something big out there, for them or against them." She cast a quick glance to the side before she went into a question. "Um, related to that... do you know if you can purify? I'm guessing that's what you did to save Valhalla, but I want to know."

Ganymede smiled at the puffski, and, encouraged by its excited hopping, reached out to touch it again.
As for Megrez, she was right that Ganymede didn't need to maintain her Princess form. She didn't know why she'd felt the need to go out like this, except for the chance to spread her wings. Now that her aura had attracted attention, even though that attention wasn't negative, Ganymede was sure that was a sign that she should power down. Closing her eyes, Ganymede let go of her power and shifted back into her Eternal garb.
“I'm assuming I can purify,” she said, still crouching down to pet the puffski. “I tried it to save Valhalla. I'm not entirely sure I did it right, but I know I have the power to do it. Maybe it'll get easier with practice. Provided there's ever anyone for me to practice on. It takes a lot of energy to accomplish.”Sami-Fire I'm sorry it took me almost a month to tag!!!
