Troy and Brillar hadn't been in the area long yet. They had been wandering for a long time. Simply trying to find a place of their own. Though they both loved their family very much, they needed to find their own at some point, and their parents agreed. Such a thing may sound strange to some, but Brillar was there when Troy was born. Being the child of the bonded familiars of Troy's parents! It was a joy for them to be one large happy family. When Brillar had first seen Troy's basket he wasn't even sure what it was! So it was nice when he popped out and Brillar had a friend for life! The two have since been inseparable. Each always following the other. They both have the same dreams of finding where they belong.

Troy stopped and looked around. He had been in plenty of other forests before, but this one seemed a lot more lively than usual. It interested him. And it seemed to interest Brillar just as much as the bobcat jumped from tree to tree overhead. Troy smiled at the other seemed to be having so much fun chasing the various birds out from their hiding places, which also gave him something to watch as they moved through the woods. The birds were all different colors and sizes. Vaguely he wondered if Brillar would try to eat one before long. He did enjoy snacks after all. And since they were little birds, Brillar would be convinced that they were only little snacks. Troy chuckled a bit as he thought of his familiar's silly antics. He was certainly an amusing one indeed.

As they continued on a bit further, they came to a stream. It was easy enough to cross. Brillar had already done as much through the branches that connected. Troy decided that it looked like a good place to take a drink. The water looked clear and fresh. The perfect thing to help cool someone down after walking for so long! He would be sure to find a little something to eat nearby as well. They would both need more sustenance in order to continue on their journey of discovery!

He laid down next to the stream, looking out over it and beyond on the trail. It was a rather small trail, but easily enough followed by one or two. He imagined that an entire herd would have a tough time making it through such tight areas. Maybe if they walked single file? Troy smiled at himself a bit from the thought. He didn't even understand why he was thinking such things really.

Troy sighed as he stood up again, taking another drink before moving through the water to get to the other side. A few moments of rest was enough for them. They should continue on their way until they could at least find a more open area in these woods. Perhaps a small field where he could eat something and Brillar could go off on his own to find some small animals.

It had probably been days or even weeks since the mare left the so called safety of the huddled and broken down mess of a so called family. Tch, if such a disgusting concoction of make-believe love, internal issues being displayed as scars of what one may believe to be called pride, and the pathetic swallow of other issues one tries to reject with bouts of denial and interjections could be paraded around and painted as a family, then Itzel could not even begin to express her displeasure of this new definition or idea of family. It was just one thought that her cousin Nevin, one of the few so called family member she actually accepted and enjoyed the presence of, had in common. Oh, the bond with someone over the shared disgust of the world and those within it.

But such opinions were neither here not there at the moment, much to the mare's dismay since she would have little problem going on and on about such matters, whether in her own mind and expressing them to another. No, today as she traveled the line of trees and the occasional forest shrubbery, she found her mind to be relatively silent, which for her was an issue. Itzel wanted, no, needed, no CRAVED, some form of amusement that could not be sated with a so called calming stroll through the forest, or by watching the squirrels and birds bounce along the forest floor. Whomever decided such activities were calming and entertaining must have possessed a boring life.

With a roll of her sky-blue eyes she stopped in the middle of a pathway to rest. Towards the southern trail she could faintly hear the movement of what she believed must have been a stream, and towards the northern continuation of the path she could see what looked like a pause in the forest and the beginning of a meadow of some sort.

"And if one takes a moment to look around in every other direction they will see trees, trees, trees, and oh look, more trees."

But what did the mare not see with her own little eyes? She say no other life like her own, which bubbled irritation in her gut. But, she would be patient for now. Eventually someone else had to come along, and then, if luck would smile upon her, she could start the beginning of another little game.

For now though, food and rest sounded better than water, whether to drink or cool down in. So she choose to continue north and towards the meadow- and what in the world's name was that sound?

A faint smile kissed Itzel's lips as her ears perked with what she believed to be the sound of someone approaching along the same path she currently stood upon. She could not see them just yet, so she would wait. It wouldn't look odd to just stand along the path, right? She could always claim she stopped for a moment of rest, or say something caught her eye, right? Right.

"Well there I go again answering my own idiotic questions. I couldn't have fallen that low that fast, right? ....Darn it!"

Troy continued on along the path while Brillar continued beside him in the trees. It was certainly an interesting thing to have a Bobcat as a familiar. Always so nimble and sneaking up on things. It has helped him a bit in the past too! Brillar coming down from the trees and attacking anything that actually meant him hard. It was a nice thing to fall back on if he needed help. Thankfully it didn't happen too often though. He hadn't really come across too many that were bad or evil. Instead Brillar got to simply do what he wanted until Troy really needed him.

Further down the path, Troy thought he saw what might be a mare on the path ahead. He wasn't really sure since he could only see the colors through the trees, but it looked like a mare so far. Coming closer he confirmed what he thought. It was, in fact, a mare. A rather orange and black mare actually. Her colors were rather nice to look at. They reminded him of fall actually. Fall was a nice season. The air was cold and calm that time of the year. Smiling to himself, he came closer to the mare and decided it would be a good idea to speak.

"Hello there!" He figured that it would be best to call out loudly to her so that she wouldn't end up afraid or startled by his sudden appearance. It was the least he could do after all. Though maybe it wasn't such a bad thing to give someone a bit of a start every once in a while. Though that was something that was usual more in Brillar's territory. He actually enjoyed when Brillar gave others a start. A bit of an amusement. "I hope that I didn't startle you or anything. I tried to be as loud as possible so that you could hear me. Well... So that you could hear me and hopefully not end up too terribly startle at least." He thought on it a moment, "Actually... That might startle someone more now that I think on it. Too late now I guess." He shrugged and walked closer to the mare.

"Are you out for a walk as well? This path seems like a pretty good place to take a nice walk. Wouldn't you think?" He smiled widely at the mare. He hoped that this wouldn't seem like too much of a boring conversation. After all, he didn't really know enough about social things outside of his family. He had only met a few other Soquili that he wasn't related to. And it was strange to say the least. Maybe this mare would give him a bit more to practice with? Who knew. "I don't mean to seem strange, but I hope you might be having a nice day at least. I'm having a nice one myself!" He stood a bit awkwardly for a moment, "Have you been in the area long? I've never been here myself."
