There were several things of concern. Okay. There were always things to be concerned about- but the enemy was just always there. That was normal. Viruses were not normal. Sherry would like to know more about such things, and she'd not had much time to investigate on her own. Normally she would not gone all the way to the top for answers on things like this, but she had other concerns, as well. Like this ring. Though she still wasn't sure it was a good idea to go talking about it. Sherry sighed, pausing in the hall to gather herself. Her division leader was probably going to send her away, but he might also send her in the right direction for answers, which was good in it's own way. Nodding to herself, Sherry took the last few steps towards H's office, knocking to announce her presence. She hoped he was in.

"Enter," the doctor replied. The door was unlocked and the man himself was leaning by the large window behind his desk, observing the hunters sparring below.

Sherry stepped inside, a little surprised to see the doctor not seated behind his desk. Though why that should surprise her she didn't know. Sitting at a desk all day would be awfully boring. "Hello, Sir," she said. "I was wondering if you have a few minutes to spare. I have some questions about the various infections that have been around lately. And other things." The words had tumbled out, as they often did when her nerves were getting the best of her. But at least they were out there

"Of course, my dear," the doctor answered easily, gesturing for her to join him at the window rather than taking a seat. "How is your project coming along?" grngriff SORRY I FELL OFF THE FACE OF RP

Sherry gave a small smile and a nod and stepped forward. She was a little bit thankful for the window, since it gave her something to look at, or out of, more specifically. It helped ease her nerves. So did the question. "It's moving. I'll have a full report on that soon." She had her equipment and her interest, she just needed to execute it. "I have a lot of plans in place, a lot of places I want to go..." Sherry realized she was about to start rambling about it. "Thank you for giving me permission for it. I am hoping we learn some new things." She couldn't let herself get caught up in her joy of exploring, though. There were a few more pressing matters. "Is it okay to be focusing on such projects with the weird virus outbreaks happening?" lizbot It's okay. Apparently I did, too. But I'm down for this if you are! emotion_kirakira

He offered a small smile at the question. "Yes and no. It's a matter of finding a balance between our chosen work and reacting to that of our enemies. To give over one entirely for the other is to invite disaster of one form or another."

Sherry nodded slowly, mostly to herself, while she let the Doctor's words sink in. "That makes sense," she said. Though he probably already knew it did; that was why he'd said it. "I'll continue on with my project, then. While still working on other things." Time to get towards the heart of the matter, Sherry supposed, before her nerves talked her out of it. "Do you know the source of the viruses? I mean, I have guesses, but..." Sherry sighed.

"The current theory with the greatest supporting evidence is that it's related to a legacy," the doctor answered, casting a curious eye at Sherry.

"A legacy." Sherry nodded her head slowly. Flashes of green and red and gold filled her mind. It had been the thing that made the most sense. These "legacies" had been increasing their presence, slowly, but there. It was still hard to fully comprehend what it all meant. "Ah," she opened her mouth to say something, but the words didn't form right away. "It's not just one, is it?" She shook her head. "It's never just one. But they're not all bad, are they? I mean, obviously they cause some chaos but... What sort of evidence are they leaving behind?" She was fidgeting with her hands, but trying to not actually touch the gold ring around her finger.

"I believe it is just one that is causing the green eyes and red eyes situations," the doctor answered. He turned to more fully look at Sherry, "If you're curious enough to be questioning me and theorizing, perhaps you should read the current research. Was there anything else, my dear?"

Just one. Sherry felt the faintest flutter of relief at that, since she doubted the gold dragon was of the same stuff as whatever was causing the virus troubles. But the eye reactions had seemed so different, too. "I would like to read the research," she said, looking out the window again. "I'd like to know which one..." Her sigh was one of resignation. She was putting off the inevitable and she knew it. She turned to look at the doctor. "There is something else." Sherry held up her left hand, the dragon shaped ring on her ring finger glinting gold. "I seem to have, uh, been given this during the green eyes outbreak." She pointed at the ring.

"I was headed out of the dorms when I saw something gold," Sherry said. That part of the whole memory was a little fuzzy. "I touched it. There was a voice, and we talked about telling truth lies. It said it gave me the power to command truth, but I haven't tested that out yet." She bit her lip. "I'm a little concerned because the ring won't come off."

Sherry put her hand behind her back. "No! Certainly not." She took a step back. "I quite like my finger, thank you." She really wasn't sure the ring itself could be cut off. "I... kind of like the ring, too." A sigh. "Has anyone reported seeing large, gold dragons? Any of that in the research of the red and green eye situations?"
