Welcome to 'The Mad King'
Long ago, during the Silver Millenium, the galaxy was very different than it is now. Planets and stars that once existed were destroyed when the war with the Dark Kingdom raged throughout the universe. Some were made barren and devoid of life, others were utterly annihilated, but some… some were knocked off course, destined to wander a lonely path for millennia. As these civilizations became lost, treading their new and lonely orbits, their people lost hope of rescue and of news of the war. They were alone. Without trade, without any way of contacting allies (many of whom had perished in the war), these now-rogue planets slowly starved and died, their people to be lost from history forever.
One Monarch, however, refused to go quietly. Before the war, he had enjoyed rank and privilege equal to that of Serenity (or so he mistakenly believed). And though not as technologically advanced as Mau or even Mercury, this King had nevertheless drawn to him artists and engineers from both worlds. Many marvels were created, but the most wonderful were the Automatonics, a joint creation between the Mauvians and Mercurians who called R’lyeh home. When R’lyeh’s orbit was altered by the War, it’s King at first held out hope of aid from Serenity. They were allies, surely she would not allow he or his people to suffer such a fate!
But aid never came. Though the King did not know of it, Serenity had perished, giving her life to seal away Metallia. For years, as R’lyeh slowly died out, the King began to believe that he had been betrayed on all sides. The Dark Kingdom, Earth, the Silver Millenium. All had contributed to his planet and people becoming lost, all were at fault for the slow and wasting death of his kingdom. All would be made to pay for their crimes.
As R’lyeh approached the very edges of it’s new orbit, the King grew old and determined to find a way to prolong his life to have his revenge. And in the darkness of space, Something heard the deepest and most bitter wishes of his heart. And Something appeared before the King to offer him a way to strike back at those responsible for the loss and betrayal he had suffered.
By this time, only a few R’lyehens still clung to life. Some were artisans, a few were warriors. One was an aged and devoted Mauvian whose heart was broken to see the madness of the King. When the strange entity appeared, the Mauvian knew that the suffering and sadness would continue. Though once a trusted and much loved councilor to the King, the Mauvian’s pleas to send the entity away went unheard. Knowing that there was not much time left, the Mauvian set in place what safeguards he could to protect what was left of R’lyeh. And to make sure that something of himself would be left to fight the entity when the time came.
The King, meanwhile, struck a hellish bargain. He would avoid death’s grasp as would the remainder of his people. Already, the entity had whispered to the King of a way to place the souls of his people into the Automatonics to extend their lives. Whispering and wheedling, the entity showed the King how to kill the fleshly bodies of his remaining warriors and how to place their starseeds into the Automatonics. A few artisans also were killed and reborn in this way for a way was needed to keep the Automatonics in good working order.. But the civilians, oh the civilians were taken by the entity as payment for its counsel and consumed by a dark hunger.
The King, however, was offered a different way. His body would become a host for the entity and his madness would feed the dark thing for the rest of time. And in return for this, the King’s body would be kept strong, thought it would become… twisted to some degree. Seeing only visions of glorious revenge, the King accepted and sealed R’lyeh’s doom. The entity swept in, twisting and reshaping the King’s form to it’s own liking. And in the aftermath of this strange possession, a tiny, uncorrupted sliver of the King’s heart and soul saw what he had done and wept. But the hunger for revenge was all consuming now.
As R’lyeh spun through the darkness, the King knew that it would be many centuries before the orbit of the planet would bring him back to Sol. So he made his plans carefully, slaughtering what was left of the population, creating new Automatonics to cater to his needs. And then, weary from his efforts and the corruption of his body and soul, the King laid himself down to sleep until such time as R’lyeh returned to Sol.
The Mauvian hid and watched and made his own plans as the King slept. When his time came to die, his soul would pass into a specially crafted engine. His consciousness, his voice would continue until a way could be found to free the King of his madness. And one night, in great weariness and grief, the Mauvian died, his shade merging with the tiny, crystalline engine and settling in for the long wait…

R’lyeh Returned
In the thousand years since R’lyeh’s King made his bargain with the dark entity, he’s been slumbering and his body and mind have been festering and becoming more monstrous and maddened. He dreams of nothing but revenge against those he feels have wronged him. And the closer the rogue planet comes to the Sol system, the more restless the King’s sleep becomes. In the past few months, the orbit of R’lyeh has been noted by Earth’s astronomers as a marvelous curiosity and the rogue planet is expected to be at it’s most visible in a month or two (give or take depending on shop needs) and everyone with access to a telescope is encouraged to watch the rogue planet and report on any discoveries. Indeed, the most notable point thus far is the oddly sullen glow that seems so very different from how the rest of the stars in the solar system shine.
As R’lyeh comes closer, it will seem to have an almost full moon like effect on the psyches of some, driving them to seeming madness. And as if that’s not bad enough, the police have noticed that there seems to be an alarming upswing in missing person reports across the city. But surely its not anything to be truly alarmed by. Right?
Wrong.
Across the city, people are going missing left and right with little to connect them. At least in the eyes of the police. For those within the magical community, it’s becoming alarmingly apparent that the missing are all senshi, officers of the Dark Kingdom and Knights. With no other information, it is becoming a firmly held opinion that the strange new planet is somehow responsible. But without a senshi attached to it, there is little that can be done except to watch and wait and hope that the missing ones are returned soon.
For the missing, it’s a very different story. Kidnapped while on patrol or even just coming off of patrol, they’ve been spirited to R’lyeh. They have been chosen, somewhat haphazardly, by the now insane Automatonics to answer for the crimes of their respective kinds. And R’lyeh’s King has been planning for a long time now how to best punish them.
Kept in separate cells or where they can see and hear each other through the bars, they will be held until it is their turn to go out and fight to the death for the Mad King’s bloodlust. For deep within the bowels of what was once the Royal Castle, the Automatonics have been busily reforming the once graceful structure into a gladatorial coliseum. Those who die or are close to death are given to the King to feed his monstrous hungers. Those who survive their fights are kept clinging to life to fight against each other, the Automatonics and in some cases, monsters created by the King.
In order to survive and return home, the kidnapped will need to be crafty, strong and able to work together. To that end, the lingering shade of a single Mauvian will do what he can to assist them in surviving. All he asks in return is that they help him destroy the entity consuming the King and give what is left of his once noble soul peace.

How This Will Work
I am looking for 20-30 characters to be kidnapped and taken to fight on R'lyeh! However, there are some OOC rules that will need to be adhered to.
• You may only sign up with TWO characters. If you own only one character, this means you may play that character plus one disposable senshi/knight/officer. If you own multiple characters, you can use two or your own or one existing/one disposable. And trust me. We're gonna need a fair number of disposables for this.
• Absolutely NO Fourth Stage or Mauvian characters will be accepted as kidnap victims. I have REASONS.
• No chibis. Seriously. Just no.
• While on R'lyeh, Negaverse and Knights are unable to summon their weapons until towards the end when I give the go ahead. The same applies to senshi magic. It cannot be used until I give the word. Additionally teleporting and mirrorwalking will NOT work on R'lyeh.
• Characters can and will be hurt! Please do not sign up if you cannot bear to have your character take a few hits or become incapacitated.
• We need Disposables! Please consider signing up with at least one. Disposables are there so people can die without taking actual characters out of play.
• Rules can and will be added if requested by the shop staff or if something needs better clarification.
If you have questions or concerns, bring them up to me! I want this to be fun! It cannot be fun if people don't communicate potential or actual problems!
