Hyperborea had just snuck out of the dorms and begun her patrol twenty minutes earlier. She decided to patrol the a shoping area. It wasn't heavily populated but because it was still realitively early in the night she deicided to move by roof top. One added advantage to this route, she noted, was that it gave her a fairly good vantage point on the streets and alleys bellow.
One sight that she didn't want to see was a young girl being chased by a larger lion like youma. The girl looked like she was about Hyperborea's age. Hyperborea immediately summoned her bow, the creature would not lay a claw on the pink-haired girl if Hyperborea had any say.
The girl was a safe enough distance away from the youma, Hyperborea judged, that she could use her magic without having to worry about blinding the poor girl too. She drew back her bow string as a silvery arrow of starlight appeared. She fired the arrow at the youma, the magical arrow hitting it's mark. The area around the youma exploded in silver light.
Hyperborea lept from the building down onto the street in between the girl and the explosion of light. "Are you ok?" She asked walking over to the girl. She looked her over checking to see if she had any serious wounds. A quick survey showed that the girl appeared mostly fine, or at the very least she wasn't dying which meant Hyperborea now had to focus on dealing with the youma.
She turned towards the explosion and dispelled her magic and her bow. The youma now freed from the explosion stumbled around blindly. Hyperborea touched her ring and was enveloped by the familiar silver sheen of the cosmos aspect.stari_maga Here's a start, let me know if I need to change anything

Things had been going so good! Like, Alexa's mom had sent her to get milk and said she could get something with the change, and then the mini mart had had those awesome frosted animal crackers with sprinkles good. The walk was super nice too. It was late enough to not be hot, but early enough that there was still a hint of sunset in the sky, but it wasn't all dark and creepy and stuff yet. Of course, it ended up being creepy anyway. Worse than creepy, actually. This random lion thing came out of nowhere and was like, roaring at her and chasing her, so she screamed and grabbed the half gallon of milk like it would protect her and ran as fast as she could. At first she was just in shock, without much time to think about much beside getting away. She could feel her heart beating in her chest. She could feel her feet pounding on the sidewalk, and she could hear the rhythm of the weird monster thing behind her. It was... a monster, right? Like one of those monsters that sometimes showed up in blurry pictures on the news? Also... it was faster than her. It was gaining on her, she could tell. And then something else happened behind her. The monster thing made a noise, the footsteps changed, and Alexa slowed down and turned around, gasping. There was a girl there, about her age, in a freaking fabulous dress, with a... bow? Was she fighting? Probably, supplied her mind. And she had asked if Alexa was okay. "Um... maybe?" That was literally the best answer she could give at this point. She had no idea what was going on. She had lost her animal crackers somewhere in the commotion, though. The half eaten bag was on the sidewalk on the other side of the monster, with was definitely bad.

Hyperborea charged the thing tackling it to the ground. Once she had it pinned she proceeded to just wail on it. It didn't take long for the youma to turn to dust from her punches. She got off the ground wiping a bit of sweat from her forehead.
She looked down and saw a half eaten bag of animal crackers. Probably belongs to that girl. She thought picking up the bag, only a few had fallen out and the rest looked more or less in tack.
She decided to leave her aspect on since she figured the warm and heavenly touch of her aspect might help calm the girl down after what must have been a nerve wracking experience. "These yours?" She asked holding up the animal crackers as she walked back over to the girl.
She lightly touched the girl's wrist with her free hand. "This should help you calm down and feel better." She explained. Her aspect didn't heal but then again the girl didn't look like she needed healing, at least not physically. "That monster's called a youma. They roam the streets at night. I suggest you try to stay in doors after the sun sets as much as possible." She explained kindly but with a serious edge to her voice.

Alexa watched, speechless for once, as the girl pounded on the monster with her fists until it exploded. Exploded! Into weird, kinda pretty silver dust. She'd never seen that on the news, and she wasn't sure what to make of it now, but with the thing... dead? Not bothering her, at least, she managed to relax a little, and accept the packet of animal crackers when it was offered to her, and generally stare in adoration at her rescuer. "Umm... you saved me, right? That was really cool! Thank you," she said. Although her pride was a little hurt that she had needed rescuing at all, it was always good to let people know they were appreciated. At the moment, she was mostly just feeling grateful for her life. When the girl touched her wrist, she suddenly felt sort of warm, and glowy, and happy. The panic faded, and she found herself able to pay attention. "A youma? Okay. They come out at night?" That was mildly interesting, but mostly she was paying attention to how awesome her rescuer was, and it didn't take long for something to become glaringly obvious. "Woah! You're glowing! That's awesome!" Alexa's starry eyes grew even bigger, but then she frowned ever so slightly. "Wait... what are you, exactly?"

"It's no problem, I would never leave someone alone to face one of those beasts." She said with a chuckle. Inwardly she was really happy to hear the girls thanks, it made her feel like she was actually making a difference actually saving people.
"I've only seen them at night at least. They might appear durring the day but I'm pretty sure their masters keep them on a short enough leash to keep that from happening at least in the city proper." She explained. She laughed when the girl commented on her glowing. "Thanks, its a type of magic called an aspect."
The girls next question made Hyperborea raise an eyebrow. "Well the short answer is a knight, a squire to be exact. Oh by the way you may call me Hyperborea, Hyperborea of Cosmos." She said introducing herself. Then a thought struck her. "Unless you meant, am I human. In which case the answer is yes and no depending on how you want to look at it. I'm a human born and raised on earth but my ancestors were alien giants." She paused for a moment. "Sorry that probably sounds insane but I don't know how to make it sound less crazy."

Alexa's smile was big and warm. Her eyes would have been glowing even if they hadn't been reflecting the starlight sheen of Hyperborea's magic. "Well, still," she said. "It was really awesome." Then, she listened intently. The warm glow had worked its magic and she had already almost forgotten how terrified she'd been when the youma was chasing her. The adrenaline hadn't left her system, though. It had simply changed from fear into awe. She hung on every word. Some of them didn't quite make sense, but whatever. They were coming from the mouth of her fabulous, glimmering hero. "Hyperborea," she repeated. It sounded a lot like the stupid names in her history textbook that she could never remember, but it was also really pretty. "You don't sound crazy! Crazy is like... freaking out about stuff that's not even there, not fighting monsters with magic. It sounds like you're out of a story! You're the shiny knight. That makes me the princess, right?" Looking down at herself, however, she couldn't quite feel like a princess. Her outfit was colorful, and she was even rocking a few glitter tattoos, but she was still basically normal and boring. She was still carrying a carton of milk, the most mundane thing ever, and even her packet of fancy animal crackers suddenly seemed much less interesting. "Well... you get the princess dress too. That just makes me the damsel in distress, I guess. That's stupid." Her smile faded as quickly as it had appeared and she stood thoughtfully for several full seconds before cheering up again, a new idea in mind. "I want to be a knight!"

stari_maga I'm so sorry this took so long I've been terrible at tagging lately
"As far as princesses go though I'm far from one, my princess is something greater than I could ever hope to become." She said looking up at the stars which were starting to appear. She wondered if her princess was up there somewhere watching over her domain amongst the stars. Hyperborea wondered if she knew about her, would she be proud of Hyperborea as one of her knights or would she think the squire fell short of her position.
The next thing the girl said gave Hyperborea pause. "Its not all glamorous. There are real dangers in the world, we knights live in war. I put my life on the line each night I power up." She said in a sober and serious tone. Realizing that she might upset the girl she switched back to a lighter tone. "But that said if you still wish to be a knight knowing the dangers then I hope one day you find your weapon I can count you as a sister-in-arms ."
"Let me walk you home, we can talk as we go but its not safe to stay here." She offered though making a mental note to stop once the girls house was in view so that she wouldn't draw any unwanted attention on the house. "By the way I'm not sure I got your name, if you don't mind me asking."
