The day was bright and sunny. With butterflies and birds fluttering about outside her kitchen window. Now on the weather it said it would be about 73 degrees, or at least that was all Amigar could hear from the tv. Since the tv was the background noise of her families living room for the moment being.
Amigar herself was more focused on her baking for the time being. Since she had a beautiful decorated apple pie in the oven. Since she had just heard the most wonderful news - there was a new family in the neighborhood. She was so very excited since new wasn't something she heard too often.
She smiled and leaned on their kitchen counter top as she thought of what the new neighbors could be like. Maybe they're would even be someone her age there. The possibilities were endless, and just as she was sinking away she heard the timer ding. She shook her head and headed to take the pie out of the oven. It smelled so wonderful and Sweet. She placed it on the tray she had laid out on the counter and topped it with some light sugar crystals.
With that she picked up the tray and headed out the door. On her way to greet the new guests. With a bright shining smile on her face as she shut the door behind her.

To say that she was not in the best of moods was quite an understatement that sunny day in July. The past few days had been so full of moving and arranging and moving and arranging that Katherine felt she would explode if she had to unpack another one of her mother's treasured "doilies." And after each and every exhausting day, she would have to lie in bed, in a strange room still slightly smelling of turpentine, listening to the strange sounds of her new home. And she would wake up cranky, having gotten only a few hours of sleep, with the process being repeated for everyday to which she had lived in the city.
She was entirely and completely exhausted, on the outside and inside.
In a deal made with her parents, Katherine had agreed to keep her mouth shut and not complain about the entire moving trip. Thus being said, internally, Katherine had about half a billion bits of pent up anger, frustration, and overall, crankiness, wanting to get out of her body. It was all she could do to not burst out screaming her complaints over the past days.
So, that morning, Katherine was in a rather poor mood when she heard the doorbell ring. Both of her parents were out of the house (something about a moving van that drove their belonging to the wrong location the the city), and her brother was in the local day camp (to which he was sent to as to get out of the way when things were being moved around). She pulled herself down the stairs and peered out of the peephole of the front door. She didn't recognize the woman standing in front. However, despite her poor mood, Katherine still retained the knowledge of never opening the door to strangers, especially when one was alone, so she simply hollered, "Who is it?"

Amigar was so excited that the smile on her face truly reflected her attitude. She hadn't met anyone new in the neighborhood in forever. It was her first chance to actually try the whole friendly neighborhood neighbor thing. It was her first chance and after all she kinda hoped there might be someone around her age. Plus what better way then to bring a delicious apple pie!
As she knocked and the door and stepped back a moment. A few seconds later she heard what sounded like a female voice from behind it.
"Oh Hello! My names Amigar - my lives nearby and they actually own a bakery right around the corner. I just wanted to stop by and give you a pie as a welcome to the neighborhood!" As she said it her tone stayed upbeat and her face stayed full of happiness. Since that was really just who she was.
The only reason she came by herself was her parents were currently out of town. One at a runway show and the other at a baking retreat of some sort. Though for her this was normal. She was after all used to her family being a ways a lot. Honestly she couldn't think of anything else she'd rather be doing right now then standing on this front steep. Since she hoped she could bring a little happiness or joy to her new neighbor.Sakura Faerie x Sorry work/life got so busy. x3

Pie?
Katherine could really use that right now. Actually, she could really use anything right now to get her mind off the whole moving business. Plus, the girl outside seemed friendly enough. She doubted anyone who wished to harm her would have such a genuine looking face. And if something bad did happen, at least it wasn't worse than the whole moving business. That had to be the worst thing ever to have existed. Ever. (And she made up her mind about that, so there was no changing it).
Ignoring her better judgement (who cared about judgement when they were a micrometer away from erupting in frustration), Katherine opened the door to see the visitor fully.
In person, not through a peephole, the girl, who Katherine deduced was Amigar from her previous welcoming statement, seemed even friendlier in person. "Oh, well, uh...come on in. My name is Katherine." If she must die from her stupidity, blame it on frustration of moving, or her parents' decision to leave her at home. If anything bad came out of this, at least she would die knowing it was technically not her fault.chi honda I suck. Sorry for this (super) incredibly belated post~

Amigar was super glad it was a girl around her age that answered. It made this all the more easy and helped her relax a bit. Since while she did this all the time for new neighbors. It was a normal routine almost. A nice way to say hi while trying to bring some sweetest to their move in.
Since even though she had only moved twice she knew how hard moves were. Just the simplest ray of sunshine during those times could make a huge difference for someone. That was hope she hoped by her family greeting them with treats would bring. Or so her father and mother told her that was the goal anyways.
"Oh sure, nice to meet you Katherine." she said with a smile as she stepped inside. Normally she wouldn't just go in anyones house but this girl seemed nice enough to her. No real danger. After all what harm could staying for a bit due. Getting to know your neighbors is always fun.
As she stepped inside she looked around. It was a big and very beautiful place. Almost like her own but unique in its own way.
"Hope the moves been okay for you, I know they can tough sometimes...Oh and I brought plates from the bakery just in case you hadn't unpacked your yet." with that she reached under the pie and showed the few nicely decorated plates with deserts decorating them and a few forks on top.

Tough? You can certainly say that again.
But before she could return to her seething mood, Katherine caught sight of the plates, and was very much brought out of her returning anger. Everyone has certain things that trigger their anger, and certain triggers that do the opposite, and pretty plates--or rather, pretty anything--happened to be one of the few things that have the ability to distract Katherine from her impending explosion.
And when she actually saw the exquisite apple pie, lets just say she was more than calmed down at this point. Katherine was back to her, per say, normal self, minus the first-meeting anti-socialness, as what more can an icebreaker be than a delicious looking, and very pretty, sweet? And screw caution as something so nice looking from someone who looked to be so genuine can't be anything harmful. Amigar, and her pie, practically radiated genuine-ness and care.
Just as they were about to dig in to the delight, all pretty and delicious, with the sugar crystals almost sparkling in the sunlight, Katherine suddenly remembered something very important."Waaaiiit. Don't do anything yet."She ran up to her room as fast as she could without tripping over any unpacked boxes and suitcases, and came back with her Polaroid.
Carefully holding the small camera in place, Katherine focused on the apple pie, and took a quick snapshot.
"There," she said satisfactorily. "Now we can eat."
