Chastity was feeling awfully giddy inside at the prospect that she was heading for a date, well... Maybe it wasn't anything official but it still made her giddy! Ever since the Summer solstice festival Polar had been on Chastity's mind more often than not. The apologizing marathon they had when she had bumped into him trying to gather fireflies for her lantern still brought a smile to her face. They had a great laugh about it after and honestly, Chastity couldn't remember the last time he laughed like that. The stallion had kept saying it was his fault but Chast was sure it was hers. She just got lost in the hunt! But after everything that happened that night, Chastity was still surprised to find the words that came from her month at the end of the evening. She asked Polar if she could see him again and he actually said yes! She had fussed over her hair for such a long time... She felt like a young horse again, well not that she was old or anything... But how she felt before she had foals, the butterflies in her stomach. But she had to make sure she didn't let her imagination run to wild and get ahead of herself. The sun was high in the sky and the air was a dry, it was the perfect summer day. And honestly Chastity was grateful. a gentle breeze pulled at her tail as she walked down the path to the field they had agreed on. She wondered if he was there waiting for her.

The night before today, Polar had barely slept! He had been so nervous about going on a date with Chastity. It was the first time he had been asked on a date. As odds had it, it had been suggested to him by a close friend, that the summer festival would be a good place to run into some singles mares. And boy had he done just that! Quite literally! There were so many interesting things going on, that he got lost in the moment, when staring at the fireflies near a small lake. The mare had assured it was her fault, as the two had a battle of apologies, then laughed about it. Both had been far too polite to end the firing of I'm sorry's. In the moment, when she asked to see him again, he had been so filled with confidence. Now, he was a ball of nerves. Standing at the end of the path to the field, he waited patiently. Polar hoped this was the right spot, even though he was 99.9% sure it was. He had arrived early, to be sure not to miss her. Occasionally, others walked down the path to the field, and he nodded to them as they passed with a friendly hello. Someone was coming again. Polar gave the biggest smile when he saw Chastity. "Good afternoon Chastity! Good to see you again!" he greeted her with utmost kindness. As she got closer, he fumbled for a moment. "I have something for you, if it's okay?" He stepped over a fat purple rose that he had laid on the grass. All the thorns had been plucked from it. A red rose is for romance, and a yellow for friendship. But Polar thought the purple would look lovely in her hair, when he was picking one out at the local village that morning. "May I?" He picked the rose up, wanting to place it in her hair, before they set off.

The mare heard her dates voice before she spotted him. her eyes shifted to him and her heart started to beat faster. 'He's here oh my god. I can't believe he's actually here!' Somewhere she figured that Polar just wouldn't show but there he was! And he greeted her with so much enthusiasm. Maybe he had been excited about today too! That certainly cheered her up more. She lowered her head some and smiled her greeting as she stopped in front of him. "It's very nice to see you again too, Polar~"
She titled her head to the side at the mention that he got her something "Oh, you really shouldn't have." She laughed. It was certainly a surprise! He was certainly a gentleman. Chastity flicked her ear and gave him a nod "Thank you, that's very kind of you Polar. It's a beautiful flower and what a pretty color!" She stood still do that he could place the flower behind her ear. She glanced over at him and watched as he came closer to place it.
"So I wasn't too sure on um... Well, what to plan for the day. We have the flowering tree path, there's a river nearby, a fresh grazing field or a local two leg village."

Polar reached over and placed the rose above her ear. "There." After, he stood back and evaluated the end result. A complimenting color, just as he had imagined. "A beautiful flower, for a beautiful lady. You look nice." he smiled, paying her a compliment. His parents had taught him well. Polar didn't say it to be nice though, he meant it. She did look really pretty. "All of those sound like interesting and fun things to do. Which is your favorite place to visit? Are you hungry?" Letting her pick, seemed like the best choice. He wasn't good at picking things. Though, making sure she had lunch took priority in his mind. Polar could always eat, no matter what. So he would go where she wanted. Unless she couldn't decide either, then he would pick what to do.

Chastity's cheeks flushed at Polar's compliment. She felt like such filly for enjoying his compliments so much. She walked in place, barely lifting her hooves from the ground. She felt tingly all over. She wanted to do everything with him. But that would make for a very long day... And might end up being a bit of a turn off. But it would leave more things for them to do another time. Was she hungry... Chastity could eat all day everyday! But she felt a bit nervous, figuring if she ate now she might end up with a stomachache. That would put a quick end to things. "I will be in a little while..." She smiled at him, hoping that he was starving. "How about we go to the river? It's going to get hot today." The river should be a decent spot. There was a main area but a little further up stream was a smaller area not many went too. Good for a date, least she thought it would be. The area had vine flowers, it would be a romantic setting. After waiting for his response she would then gently nudge him in the direction of the river.

The river seemed like the perfect choice. A cold drink, and a leisurely stroll, would offer time to chit chat, and get to know each other a little more. Polar was impressed she could make a decision quickly. It showed confidence. Some were too meek to make a choice, in case there was a wrong answer they could be held accountable for. "The river is a great choice! Good pick Chastity." he smiled at her politely. The gentle nudge made him fumble, as he found his hoof hold to walk in the direction of the river. "Do you come here to this area often? It's a nice area." The small talk didn't take long to start. "I used to come here often as a foal. I like going to new places too, and seeing what's out there." his answer to his own question. A gentle breeze welcomed them both in the direction they were heading. A babbling tinkle could be heard as they got closer to the river. Polar tried to assure there was no silence, so things didn't get awkward. "What type of things do you like to do for fun, or to pass the time? I imagine being a single mom is a full time job too." He nodded, having nothing but respect for somesoq who would have to raise a family on their own. Polar knew how much of a handful him and his siblings were growing up. Especially with his brother being blind. "I like to meet people, and hang out with friends." he looked at her and smirked. "I like bumping into ladies too." Polar was making a joke at the night they met, and she had bumped into him. Hopefully she realized he was playing.

She smiled at him as he got his footing. "Oh, well I would bring the girls here when they were small. This area is rather family friendly." She smiled some reminding when her girls were small. She still felt a bit of a pang over Avia who vanished, having not heard word that her other daughter was still alive yet. But Radiance has grown into a fine mare and her mate, he's a bit odd. But he's a good stallion that compliments her life. Chastity was happy that Radi had found a good stallion. Not that she would have disapproved of another life style. But it was tough for her to raise the girls alone. "But the place we're going too it's a place I found when I was out for a walk one day. It's a bit more private." She glanced around, she didn't want their business being topic of conversation on the loose lips of some of these other horses. "For fun? Well when I'm not bothering Radiance and her mate..." She winked at Polar. "I try and learn new things. I recently went on a small trip to the base of the mountain to do some site seeing." She grinned at him at his little playful comment. "Well I guess you're just very clumsy." She raised a brow as she looked at him. Chastity was trying her best to better herself and live a more fulfilling life. And it was a good choose, because of that she had bumped into this stallion. "So you have siblings? What are they like?" She asked as they walked under the natural tree corridor. Sun peeking through the leaves and dappling the ground they were walking on.

Polar knew the benefit of places that were family friendly. Having to always keep to places that were extra safe, and well guarded as a foal. They didn't adventure much beyond their safe haven, in order to keep his brother in areas he was used to. It wasn't easy, but he and his sister, managed to keep him close, and treat him as any other sibling. Things got even better, when his brother acquired a seeing goat! It helped him to branch out, and explore new areas on his own. He grinned and nodded as Chastity spoke, to show he was listening. "Is Radiance your daughter?" he assumed she was as she spoke of her, but wanted to be sure to get every detail right. It was only polite, and one should never only assume things. "The mountain sounds great! I imagine that was quite an adventure." Polar himself, hadn't done much site seeing. His life was a simple one for the most part. "Ahhh, yes. I have a few siblings. Two, that are the same age as me. My sister, recently got hitched to a nice guy. I'm happy for her." The 'I have a brother who's blind' statement, was one that he never made. In fact, it was a detail he never seemed to indulge in. His brother was just like any other stallion, as far as he was concerned. "How about you, do you have siblings?" A large branch lay in front of them as they walked and talked. Without missing a beat, Polar walked up to it, and scooped it up in his mouth. Gently placing it out of their way, he fell back in line beside Chastity. He didn't want her scratching her ankle, while stepping over it.

She listened as Polar spoke, she couldn't really help just enjoying the sound of his voice and so when he asked her about Radiance she didn't respond for a moment. When she had realized that there was a pause she realized that he had asked her a question. "Oh Radiance, yes. She is one of two daughters I have." She smiled and glanced away. She knew the topic would arise but she never really was prepared to talk about it. "My other daughter Avia is no longer with us." She left it that. To Chastity she had gone through the grief of loosing a daughter. But her daughter wasn't dead, she had snuck off as a foal and choose to lead a different life. Chastity was a young and foolish mother. "I like to spend time with Radiance as much as I can, I missed a good chunk of her growing up. But that might be a story for another time." She smiled again, a bit weaker. Looking back on her life now she knew that she was to young to bare foals but she choose that careless lifestyle. Now her daughters were the best thing to happen to her. They made her realize she needed to grow up and take responsibility in her own life. The idea of searching for Avia had also crossed her mind to make contact. "Do you have any children. Polar?" It would be interested find out. He might hold it against her that she already has foals... But if he has some, then he can understand where she was standing. But maybe he wouldn't care at all. When Polar walked in front of her to move the log out of her way she felt struck. Not in a bad way but simply surprised that he was so thoughtful. He was quiet the gentleman for sure. "Well it's good that you're happy for her. I'm sure her partner is wonderful. " But he didn't make mention of his other sibling, most likely a brother though. "And you have a brother?" She asked before answering the question she gave her. "I do, I myself have a brother and sister. But we're not very close... Our parents were a short fling. I spent more time with my sister then brother. He spent more time with our mother, and me sister and I spent out time with father." She partly at her father's lifestyle to blame as to why she was so reckless when she was younger. But the decisions were all hers. He didn't like seeing her in his shadow but actions speak louder then words. And he was a flirt! But it would see that he has finally found his love. A mare that she hadn't actually met but seen.

Polar wondered what the story was with Chastity and the daughter she mentioned, Avia. The topic seemed to effect her in a way that made him want to hold her close, and listen to what she had to say. She didn't know him though, and he didn't know here that well either. This night was supposed to be a good night. He didn't want to change the mood, by having her talk about something that wouldn't make her happy. Though he would not forget, and if the moment to ask further came about, he would surely ask. Then he would listen to what she had to say about Avia. The subject had to change, so they could keep moving forward. Her mood effected seemingly, by the the topic of her daughters. "Yes! I do have a brother, Mikaeus. He still lives with my parents. Sweet, genial guy. Very down to earth. But not as handsome as me!" he joked, bumping his rump into hers playfully, to try and pick her spirits back up. "No kids here. I've not been fortunate enough to have any. I would like some one day." his eyebrows rose up a bit and his head gave a short nod. The thought of kids, a welcome and warm thought for him. If he had kids, then it would give him an excuse to act like a kid with them! Teach them what's fun in life. The idea always had been on his mind, from a very young age. Seeing how his parents loved and cared for him, made him want to share in the same experience. His biological clock wasn't ticking too hard though. Polar didn't have to urge to rush into such things. Thus, he had made sure not to have any. He didn't want kids, without the right parents to raise them. Which required someone close, that he trusted to be by his side, and raise them with him. "That's okay if you aren't close. Every family is different. What matters, is the person it makes us into. I think you're great." he added, shaking his head a little again. If you ever saw two leggers that talked with their hands, well, Polar talked with his head! Bobbing it about in little nods and shakes while talking, with eyebrows that seemed to move with them. He didn't always do it. If he caught himself doing it, he would try not to. This deep in a conversation though, the habit was unavoidable. Polar smiled up at the sky, looked at Chastity, smiled at her, then smiled back up at the sky. "So, are we close Maam?" he looked at her in the eyes, waiting for her to respond. Eye contact was easy, yet so important!

Chastity laughed his the stallions rump bumped into hers. She grinned at him, her mood quickly shifting back into happier times. "Oh, you're the handsome one? I think I'll be the judge of that!" She leaned over and gently touched her nose to his cheek. He was a kind stallion and chastity could feel herself growing more and more comfortable. "Hm?" She glanced at him. So he didn't have his foals yet. He didn't seem bothered by the fact that she had foals so far. Radiance was older anyways and has her own mate. So there was no threat to him that he would become an insta dad or anything. And granted was a little younger then herself. But he didn't seem to be in any rush which was a good thing. Chastity would love to have more foals one day but she wanted to make sure that she was with the right horse this time around. She loved her two girls with all her being. but she did need to be more responsible. The mare gave Polar a blush as he paid her a compliment. "Aww thanks. You're not so bad yourself." She gave him a wink as they continued on. "Yup! It's right up here." She smiled back to the stallion as she quickened her pace to be a few steps ahead and she stopped at the entrance. "It's right here." She ducked into the brush making sure her horn and spikes didn't get caught on anything where there was a small not so well travelled path and then out on to the bank of the river. It was sunny and the heat from the sun would warm the bank and water. The area could easy fit 4 horses with brush on either side that had summer flowers in full bloom to give the area privacy. The sound of water bubbled and trickled as the water pushed past them. "What do you think? The water will be nice and comfortable with the sun's light right on it." Chastity was a fan of the little spot. Sometimes the open areas were just to crowded with the other horses and she wanted to spend time with Polar to get to know him. If they went to the open area they would run risk of bumping into other horses they knew. The date could have easily become a group hangout. And where Chastity would like to meet his friends, one day, it was to early to really tell where this was going. She moved out of his way so that he could have a good look at the area before she made her way to the waters edge letting her hooves sink into the water.

Polar watched as she trotted a few steps ahead. "Okay!" he responded back, eager to see where they had arrived. The entrance under the brush was not so delicate from him, as he snagged on a branch and grumbled under his breath silently. As he stepped through, his eyes blinked to adjust to the invasion of sudden light. A warm woodsy smell, with the scent of flowers, and wet earth delighted his scents. Polar took a slow, deep, deliberate breath, then exhaled. Turning his gaze back towards Chastity, his mouth dropped open for a moment as he watched her, while asking him a question. Polar watched the suns long fingers, light up Chastity's coat, causing it to ripple and sheen. He swallowed hard, dumbfounded for a moment by her beauty in the light, framed by the flowers and babbling brook. "Absolutely beautiful." he stared on for a moment at the vision before him. She really was beautiful. What a lucky stallion he was to have her company for the day. Breaking his awkward stare, with a clear of his throat, and a turn of his head to look more at his surroundings. "Those flowers are very nice." he mentioned, as he turned and smirked, flexing his nostrils out momentarily. "Think their edible?" he grinned, watching her from where she stood by the brook, before falling in beside her. The black feathers around his hooves, going moist from the earth as his hooves too, sunk in the mud around the bank.

Chastity closed her eyes for a few moments letting the sun warm her pelt. She could tell it would be a warm fall and winter would arrive late. Her ears gave a twitch as she listened to Polar's movements. He was a very kind stallion and she was hoping that he had been enjoying her company so that they could see each other again. She couldn't believe that not that long ago at a festival she had quiet literally bumped into him and here they were having a great time together. She opened her eyes and turned her head to look at him just catching the end of his stare. Her cheeks warmed and she averted her eyes for a moment trying to cool herself her self down. "Yes, they are. They're sweet, I think you'll like them. And the best thing is they grow very quickly so there will be new buds by the afternoon tomorrow." She tilted her head with a smile at him. When the colorful stallion joined her with his hooves in the mud she looked over at him. He carried himself well and looked strong. Would he want to be with someone like her? She was a bit frail it was true. But she had been learning from everything and getting stronger. She wanted to be stronger for herself. She had lost herself in thought staring him, but suddenly the cicadas drew her back. As the water gently lapped at their hooves she had to look away. It was strange that she was thinking so far into the future. She took a couple more steps into the water, the mud turned into a solid bed with a few small rocks. "Wow, the water is warm!" She grinned and used her to tail to splash some water at him.

Polar took a deep breath. How interesting that the flowers would grow so fast. Perhaps in a little while, the two could snack on a few. Though, he wouldn't eat too many, so he didn't look like a glutton. Someone in his family once told him the value of first impressions when on a date with another. Polar blushed slightly as she looked at him. He wondered what she was thinking. A little nervous, he held his breath without realizing it, and stood there a moment. You need to think of a good conversation to have, so things don't get awkward! He didn't want to appear to be a dullard at all. He could...talk about the weather? That's always a short boring conversation. He already asked her about the things she liked to do. She really was so pretty.. As his train of thought buzzed around from one place to the next, he still had his breath held. When she splashed him, he sucked in air so loud, and gasped in shock, his body jolting! The splash had managed to shock him, and gave him a little startle. He busted out laughing at the fact that it caught him off guard, and made him jump. "Hahahahaha. Wow I'm jumpy today!" he looked at her with his big fat grin. His eyes wide, staring at her for a moment. Then he splashed her back! The water was warm, and felt great. It felt even better, to be having fun! The awkwardness of not knowing what to talk about, didn't matter anymore.

Chastity couldn't help but smile at the stallion. Something just seemed to click with them and it had been a long time since she felt so ... good. He made her feel like no one had in a long time. And it wasn't just pick up lines, it was the way he looked at her. It was the look her dad had for his new mate.
The mare opened her mouth to say something but a small buzzing caught her attention and a humming bird fluttered near her ear, passing on the message that her daughter Radiance was in need of her.
"Oh goodness.... My dear Polar." She gave him a sincere look of regret. "I'm sorry but it seems that my daughter Radiance needs me attention... Please forgive me but I must end out afternoon here." She walked over to him and she gently touched her nose to his.
"I have enjoyed our time together and I do really hope that you would like to continue this another time." She gave him a smile before she left to follow after the hummingbird.
