In her mind, there was nothing worse than rain.
Honestly, Andria didn't think of herself as prissy or self-absorbed - not in the slightest! But she did (as everyone should, really) take pride in her appearance. And that was quite difficult to do with the steady downpour happening at current. Andria huffed, glancing around between her sopping pink bangs, now effectively covering her eyes. She'd thought today would be a good day for a walk. Ten minutes ago, the sky had been clear and relatively cloudless. How one earth did the weather turn so treacherous, so quickly?
At this point, Andria was too far from home to make it worthwhile to turn back around. And so, she headed toward the nearest open storefront she could find. Hopefully she would encounter solace there.

The fact that the weather had turned so wet hadn't seemed to bother Julian in the slightest. He had been prepared for such an occasion (having checked the weather reports before heading out) and had brought his umbrella. He watched curiously as he saw people running about frantically as if the rain was something evil to be avoided. He chuckled softly to himself and whistled a tiny tune.
Of course, the umbrella had done relatively little to keep the water off of him in this gale. He didn't mind though. What was life if he continued to worry about the smallest little things? So when he finally got to his destination, he slipped under the awning and shook out his umbrella before closing it up, making sure to not spill droplets on the female that had been taking shelter there. "Nice weather, huh?" He cocked his head to view the downpour without sticking his head in it, a wide grin on his face.
(Sorry if I pictured her in the wrong place, I wasn't sure if she went into the store or was still outside. xDD I can change the reply if I need to.)

Andria barely saw anyone approach through her sodden bangs, so when she heard the closing and shaking of an umbrella she reached up a paw to wipe them out of her face. It was then he spoke to her, and Andria quirked a brow in response. "'Nice' is one word for it, I suppose." Her eyes took in his slightly damp, lustrous red hair - it appeared the umbrella hadn't fully done its job. Doing a bit more to shake her bangs out of her face, her gaze shifted almost immediately do his tail - er, tails. Although Andria recognized that her featured made her a bit unique among the others walking around every day, this male took it to a whole new level. What did he need two tails for, anyway?
"Well," she said quickly, attempting to recover from her slight bout of staring with an address to his striking green eyes. "At least you were smart enough to bring along an umbrella." Andria stretched her wings out a bit and shook them, flinging water droplets to either side of her. "But it appears it didn't do much," she added with a smirk, nodding towards his hair. "Name's Andria. You?" Andria wasn't much for introductions; they were clumsy activities, necessary but inconvenient. Besides, if they were going to be taking shelter together, she needed something to call him.

He gave a small grin, but couldn't help but shrug. "It definitely could be worse, at least that's the way I look at it." His smile widened and he wrung out a portion of his hair. At her statement, he laughed, shaking his umbrella slightly. "For all the good it did. If it had a choice in the matter, I'm sure it would have stayed home." At the introduction, he tried to dry his paw off best he could and swung it around for a handshake. "My name is Julian, it's nice to meet you Andria." (Ugh, sorry it's so crappy. @.@;;; )

Andria laughed, shaking her paw and shaking it. It didn't seem as if Julian would be bad company at all. And hey, at least he gave her something to look at.
Glancing out at the rain, she made a face, then looked back to him. "Why did you come out, anyway?" Personally, she had been on the way to her parents' coffee shop. Although it was always a depressing experience, she enjoyed checking up on it from time to time. And she certainly liked to think her parents appreciated it, wherever they were. Refocusing her attention back on Julian, she caught herself again staring at his tails. "I'm sorry," Andria blurted out, "this is going to sound really rude, but if you look like this what the hell do your parents look like? I mean... does one of them have four tails? Or did both happen to have two tails? Miraculously finding each other like that..." She shook her head, laughing at herself. "I'm sorry, I just can't stop staring! You're lovely, I promise, it's just simply peculiar."

Julian couldn't help but laugh at the question, a shrug pulling his shoulders closer together. "I suppose I don't really have a reason. I wanted to see the rain instead of staying inside, which I suppose is as good a reason as any. How about you?" Well, it was a good reason for him, he supposed it wasn't for other people, but then again... he wasn't like other people. To her next question, one brow raised. He guessed if he were like other people that the question would have bothered him in some way, but instead he just smirked. "Actually... one of my mothers are quite normal, well, aside from the fact that she has no fluff on her ears, she's just like anyone else. It's my other mother that has the two tails I inherited. She's part cat, Sawbuck... and I think Miltank.. somewhere in my heritage, anyway." He waved it off like it was far in the past somewhere. "But, she definitely does have quite the heritage and I'm sure my family has many great stories about it." He flashed her a smile, a light blush painting his cheeks at the compliment. "Well, I thank you." He gave a sweeping bow. "You are quite lovely yourself, I'm sure you have an interesting heritage as well?" He posed the last bit as an inquiry.

"Ah, well..." she trailed off, supposing she'd tell him the truth. No harm in speaking it to a stranger, though she didn't enjoy talking about it much. It felt private, but she could always trust someone she never expected to see again, right? "I was heading to my parents' coffee shop. I enjoy spending time there, and it seemed like a nice day for it." Andria rolled her eyes in a playful, joking manner. "Seemed" is right.
Andria was pleased to see she didn't outwardly offend Julian with her rather forward (and maybe, yes maybe, a little rude) question. He took it rather graciously - perhaps he got it all the time. Wouldn't surprise her in the slightest. The female perked up visibly at the mention of being part cat, but the other two names left her mind blank. A... Saw... buck? Like, the machine that cuts wood and a deer? It was beyond her. "Well, they both sound like fascinating creatures! And at the very least, they raised you. Which does a lot to compliment them." Laughing politely at his compliment and bow, Andria bowed her head in return. "Why, thank you, kind sir. Ah..." Here were her parents coming up again. How grand, twice in one conversation! "My mother was half cat, actually," she replied, flicking her tail as if to prove a point. "The wings I can blame my dad for." She laughed again, not so light-hearted this time, and flexed her wings a bit. "So yeah, I s'pose it is a bit interesting." Andria shrugged, glancing out into the rain, fumbling mentally for a new subject to discuss.

He could tell there seemed to be something off by what she was saying, but he couldn't quite place it. "Visiting your parents? That's nice. I'm sure they enjoy the company." He smiled softly, but when he told her about his own parents, he saw the question on her face though she didn't voice it out loud. Sometimes it took him a moment to realize that not everyone knew what a Pokemon was since he had grown up around it. He just smiled, his eyes looking off to watch the rain patter against the street. "A Sawbuck is a deer creature, and a Miltank is a cow.. of sorts. They're both Pokemon species from a world a bit different than this one. As for the two tails..." He shrugged slightly. "I'm not honestly sure where they came from since neither of my grandparents have them. Might have been a Halloween blessing.." Since he did see his tails as a blessing rather than a curse. He had grown rather used to them and loved having them both there. They definitely helped with him keeping balance no matter what shenanigans he decided to do that day.
His ears pricked when he noticed her say was, had he unwittingly drudged up bad memories with his statement about her parents? Had that been the reason she seemed apprehensive about telling him what she was doing today? Her statement about his parents raising him also sent him a warning, and he frowned again, hoping he hadn't upset her too much. Had she that many problems with her parents? "Well.. cats are definitely interesting creatures. And you do have a beautifully fluffy tail, so that's definitely something to be thankful for, yes?" How much more could he fudge up this conversation anyway?

Andria put in effort to kind of awkwardly nod at his comment on visiting her parents, her gaze cast downward to her paws. That's what it felt like - visiting her parents. Although the coffee shop had changed quite a bit since her passing (it was near unrecognizable, at this point), some part of her was sure she could still feel them there. The new owners understood her frequenting the place and treated her like any other regular customer that couldn't stay away for more than 48 hours. She really did need to find somewhere else to spend her time.
At Julian's explanation about his parents, Andria visible perked up. She glanced through her sodden hair and grinned, bursting out into quick laughter. "So you're telling me you're part cow? You're not as large as I'd imagine you to be." When he mentioned Halloween, she grinned once again, tilting her head. "Were you born on Halloween? That's my favorite holiday!" It didn't slip past her attention that he'd referred to his dual tails as a blessing, rather than a curse - Andria was glad for the confirmation that she didn't offend him in inquiring about them. The smile on her face, then, did not fade as she continued her appreciation of the curious creature before her.
