Quote: Imrikalto moved through the woods with less intent than usual, finally taking a break from his usual activities of running messages and checking the border for signs of approaching attackers. For the first time in a long time, he was able to wander, to travel as he once did in his youth, to revel in a family characteristic as his sire would say. The day was his to do with as he wished, and the feeling of such freedom was somewhat daunting after so long following his routine.
The attack of the Kalona Herd had done a lot of damage in many ways, to herds and lives and routines and all. And certainly, the increasing strikes by Skinwalkers on their allied Clans was alarming. Of course, all this meant he'd be back to running and scouting and such soon enough, but for the moment he was content to let his neck stretch out and his muzzle brush the wildflowers that grew thick and sweet over the meadow.
"Another day slipping away...." He mused as the afternoon sun baked down on his dark gray coat. "Nearly gone now. And another day's work just waiting to be started."

Quote: Iskra usually spent her time with her family, in the little herd they called home themselves, just her, her brother, her sister, and her parents. That's how it usually was, just the 5 of them. There were other family members, out there somewhere, but they didn't come around much. Not that Iskra minded usually. She'd heard certain...things about her father's father that she didn't particularly care to learn first hand herself. Some days though, it was a little boring. Some days, she wished there was a little bit more excitement. Today was one of those days. She kissed her mother and her father on the cheek and headed out for a walk to see what she could find.

Quote: For all that he had not wandered in some time -longer than he'd liked, at least- Imri still had a decent head for borders and herd lands. As such, he adjusted his course through the woods when he neared them, his stride smooth and even as he cantered along. It was nice to not be in a hurry to anywhere, to not be afraid someone's life hung in the balance of each stride. For the moment all he had to worry about was crossing into another Clan or Herd's lands, which didn't seem to be much of an issue.
Of course, 'never say never' was one of his father's admonitions. And as soon as he slowed his pace, Imri realized he had sped through some of his familiar wandering lands while he was woolgathering. And now? Now he was somewhere he was less familiar with, and possibly approaching herd lands. He just, didn't quite know who made their home here.
Slowing to a walk, the dappled stallion peered around in interest, his ears flicking about as he searched the quiet woods. Interesting how something could go from 'soothingly still' to 'unnervingly silent' in a moment.
"Probably because I'm the intruder, here." He mused. "And not for any other reason. So stop jumping at shadows..."

Quote: It really was a beautiful day to be out exploring. Iskra was glad she’d decided to take the day and have a break from her family. She loved them with all of her heart, of course. It was just nice to get away sometimes and do her own thing. So she had strolled through the forest that surrounded their little home, looking this way and that, not really seeking out anything in particular. She knew the wooded area quite well, having lived in it her whole life, but things were oft to change quickly in such a lively environment, filled with inhabitants as it were. In just a short distance from her home she had already spotted a new birds’ nest that she hadn’t seen before. There was certainly going to be lots to see along this excursion, and she was hoping to go further than she had ever before. She’d left quite early that morning to do just that. Now it was nearing the end of the day, and it would soon be time to go back. While she was quite capable and had no fear of spending the night alone, she knew her parents would worry and she would hate to be the cause of that. She sighed, tipping her head up to look at the reddening sky. She had seen some interesting sights, but the forest had been rather quiet today. Perhaps today hadn’t been the best choice after all.

Quote: The SilverShadow Clan was somewhat of a bachelor group as of late, excluding his sire who was still happily bound to his LifeMate. Imri was pleased for his father and mother, and thrived at being the acting patriarch. However, he was happier still when he felt as though he was doing good, delivering messages and keeping an eye out for danger. The lives of their allies and families were important to him, and he took that responsibility seriously.
Regardless, he was pleased to have the day to do with as he wished. Of course, now sunset was coming on and one should keep an eye out for Skinwalkers and hunting Kalona. Humming thoughtfully, the dark gray stallion glanced around the area contemplatively. "Not that there is often an issue with those in this immediate area... Likely because of the family that calls this territory their home?"
Imri shrugged to himself and rounded a corner, finding himself in the presence of a dark coated mare. She had her head tilted back, apparently admiring the changing colors as they sprawled across the sky. Unsure if she was aware of his presence or not, he drew to a halt and cleared his throat gently.
"Excuse me, I hope I am not disturbing you or the lands you call home."
