Ilfirin'runya - Das Tor

He was growing quickly, meeting an age where exploration away from his mother wasn't so unheard of. When soon he'd be old enough to take on a whole new sense of meaning in his life. Teodan was excited. His silver mane fell in to his face, paws carrying him close to the border, as often it had lately. Pale blue eyes gazed beyond, and a cocky voice in his head told him that there was something more out there. Something he should be seeking. However, he had no idea just how to go about following that little, nagging sound. "Would you shut up already...Let's just hunt." Might as well do what he was good at.

They'd been many, many places together, Runya mused as she and her brother approached the Pridelands. They'd been past it before, talked to a scout or three...but never INSIDE it. Runya paused, looking longingly towards the great rock formation visible even so far out. She didn't want to stay, she never did, but she wanted to SEE what was out there. Find out who she and Ringwe could lure out to find their demons. She took a deep breath, and caught a young scent. Blinking, she raised a brow. "Smell that, Ringwe?" Perhaps, perhaps...

The blue lion had tuned out the outside world fairly well, the inner world of his mind much more interesting than his sister's constant chatter at that moment. And then she piped up in a way he couldn't ignore. Bringing himself out of 'autopilot', he took a quick sniff himself. Hm.

"I do. And I hear something as well. Shall we investigate?" He was already moving to do so before she answered, wanting to get to the source quickly.

The two lions' scents didn't even meet the red male's nose. No, he was intent on a large gazelle that had just run past. He was nearly an adolescent...might as well give something bigger a shot. Taking off, it wasn't long before that little voice demanded he take over. Letting the sense fall over him as he had once before, there was a new burst of speed as he took the beast down, his large, but lanky, body dragging the creature down to the ground. "Mine..."

Runya rolled her eyes at Ringwe, moving to follow him quickly. Really...her brother was such an anti-social a*****e sometimes. She moved to lope ahead of him, and caught the words first. Oh? Now she was interested! Especially when the scent proved itself to be a young male. "Oh? What's yours, shorty?" She was forever out to needle others, to get them to react.

Ringwe growled lowly when Runya passed him, annoyance easy to see. Really, did she have to be the first in everything? He loved his sister but great Sparda did she piss him off! The prospect of another so close, especially a young one by the scent, forced him to calm. He was a son of Verge'lian, he would act as such in public. "Don't taunt the cub, Runya."

Those blue eyes turned up to meet both of theirs, his claws digging in to his prey as a growl rumbled up from his chest...Their chest. His golden markings really stood out in the sunlight, the silver on his back pressed to a crimson pelt, silver mane falling into those eyes, ".....This kill is ours. Who are you?" Ours....Gods. His mother hated it when he said that. Kind of a lot, "No, sorry....It's mine. The kill is mine." Whoever they were, he honestly did not think they belonged here....though the scent of the others was stirring the voice...

Ours? OH HO. With the cub's coloring and the way he spoke...oh that just got Runya's hopes up REALLY high. "No, no. You can use 'ours'. You have another who resides within you? A dark little voice that whispers to you?" Perhaps she was being too eager, but the Aegnor needed new blood. Fresh blood. The more, the better.

Ringwe winced at his sister's eagerness, but went along with it. Best to keep things going, rather than let her flounder. "If so, you are not alone. And you know it, don't you?" If he was a demon, like they were, he likely had felt out of place from early on. An early-awakened demon wasn't unheard of. And it would work to their advantage if that was the case. Make it easier to bring him home once he was of age.

The cub's ear twitched, and he watched them as they spoke of a darker voice. "Teodan." He might as well introduce himself, "My name's Teodan. The voice has a name too, but I'm not telling you." He growled, wondering why the voice had pushed him to speak. Slowly, he drew himself up tall, taking on a more regal bearing he'd seen before, "I know we're not alone. The voice has said as much. You smell familiar too....like a place it wants to go to." The voice was so strange, so different.

"Good. Keep the other name to yourself. Names have power. Never give your inner name to someone you don't trust implicitly." Runya chuckled, looking the boy over. "We smell of the gate to below, to hell. We are of the Aegnor'hini, a pride full of others like you." She shifted, drawing herself up as well. She was a large lioness, easily the size of a Pridelander. It ran in her veins. In all the veins of those of the same line as she.

Ringwe nodded, taking up where his sister left off. "You prefer darkness to light? Night to day? You know you're stronger than those around you, with an inner self that will not let itself go unheard? We are like that. We are demons. The mortal skins of those who are not mortal, yet are not gods. Save a few, of course." His mother was a rare exception; a divine being who was a demon as well.

His ear twitched, "...My mother never let me stay awake at night. She got very angry." His demon growled slightly, Dante pressing his claws into the boy's mind, "All I know is The voice knew your smells." He shrugged a shoulder, paw pressing more solidly to his prey as he studied them, "Demons..." He liked the sound of that. So did the voice. It all but PURRED in response, causing a cocky grin to curve his lips, "Why not. Bet I'd be one of the greatest that ever lived." This could be really fun.

Runya chuckled darkly, nodding. "Good, good. We won't take you now. Don't need to cause a scene. But...we'll be back in a couple of moons. Check on you. Bring you to the pride if you're grown enough." She wouldn't argue the 'greatest' comment for now. They needed to lure him in. Lure in the new blood. "If you'd like...we can even teach you a bit about being one of the Aegnor'hini. The things that your inner voice won't know instictively."

The blue lion chuckled, amused by the youngster. He reminded Ringwe of his uncle a bit. "The lessons will help. It'll make the transition from peace and sun to fire and strength easier." He knew not all transitioned easily. Mahewa, seasons ago, had not transitioned easily. Nor had Aisling, nor Wan. If they could train a newcomer? It might work easier.

His fur was all but standing on end, eyes lighting up as pride burned in his chest. YES. He wanted to train, wanted to become PERFECT, and they could help him do just that, "YES." His voice and his demon's rang in perfect harmony, echoing their delight at the thought of becoming one of these, "Teach me everything." He was an eager young soul, ready to follow them into the abyss, though young as he was yet...

"Happily." Runya was more than a little giddy inside. A youngling to help mold into a wonderful demon! A new bloodline to add to the demons, to strengthen them further! It was perfect! "Lessons begin with that lovely kill of yours."

Ringwe picked up for Runya, smirk on his muzzle. "There is strength in blood. It is our mortal essence, our life force...and the blood of our kills and our enemies can add to our own strength. By taking their strength into yourself, you honor their contribution to yourself or their skill as an enemy. To not drain a kill of blood is to do a dishonor. We generally reserve bleeding out for traitors and fools."

He was supposed to drink the blood? Weirdos. Ah well, if he was to be a Demon. The voice within seemed pleased by this thought, and he inched forwards, sinking his teeth deeply enough and beginning to drink the blood....very messily. There was much splattering on the ground and his crimson fur, wetting even his dark paws. Teodan seemed not to be concerned about this at all, slurping away.
