1. Stay with in the soquili guidelines and Gaia's TOS. 2. Be nice to each other. 3. Have fun.
Herd Guidelines
Herd Guidelines: 1. The Dam ( Inari ) and the Sire (Yuuta) make the main decisions but other members do have input in suggestions and voting. (The original brothers will always have some part of the decision making.) 2. Be respectful to each other (that goes for respecting the other owners and the characters within the group) 3.The Kitsunekuma are generally intelligent killers who usually intend to kill efficiently with little to no traces left behind. Not all characters in the herd may be so bright, so those who are not so bright are not required to stay under cover (but it doesn't mean they should get caught, if they are on jobs). Sometimes sloppy work is seen as a risk unfortunately, so they will have less assassination work to do and more side jobs like hunting. 4. Tradition is important IC. OOC not so much but they still musn't go blabbing secrets. 5. If a soquili in the group wants to go on a personal quest, then it is on them and not the group (this kill should also not effect the group unless plotted to do so, however there would be consequences for your character if it the herd was to be effected by something your soquili chose to do). 6. The brothers really do care only about each other and see each other as very valuable people in their lives. After so many years of training they'd rather not replace you (a member of the herd) or lose you (a member of the herd). 7. Stay away from Skinwalkers, only go near them if you have to and if you do go near them, have backup. 8. Once you learn the secrets of the group, it's very hard to leave alive (they wouldn't want anything getting out). - This is another reason why soquili joining have to be patient, they are very fond of having their secrets kept.
FAQ Are there any restrictions for people who can / can't enter? Nope. Enter if you're interested in them!
Can I join in? Anyone can join as long as you stick around to plot and sometimes RP for group events and get on with the other owners in the group (you don't have to be best buddies but if you can have enough tolerance then that is good).
Do I have to custom in or win this contest to join? Nope! I want this herd to be open to other soquili, some who may not have found their path yet possibly.
Are they evil / bad? Some could call them such because they kill other creatures, but generally I don't think they feel like they are evil.
Carnivores? Yep, they're mean chompers.
Can I cuddle them? At your own risk.
Where do they live? They don't live in any one place. They are a traveling herd, they move to where they think they are needed / can get business.
Are they for hire? Of course! Performance gigs - Dance performances for all occasions~! Ceremonial gigs - Lifematings, funerals, blessings, etc Hits - (if it's agreed upon with the owner of the soquili who is the target, then yes that's fine.) It's rare that they don't succeed in killing when they intend to kill.
If you want your soquili mauled or mangled up though (without the intention of them dying) just find a way to threaten them, piss them off or get in their way on a bad day and job's a good 'un.
Can they take days off to wander, go on a small adventure or have their own interests? Of course they can! They have to have some independence, freedom and time off to be the best they can be.
Name: Inari • 稲荷 (First Born) Speciality: Ceremonies (Ceremonial Master), Botany, Organisation of kills and ceremonial / kill bookings Personality: Inari often poses as the "kind" and "hospitable" face of the group, they deal with the organisation of the herd and are at the heart of all the performances, projects and jobs taken on by the herd (however personal jobs are excluded from this). Often the first and last face you will deal with when actively approaching the group for various reasons will be Inari's as they tend to be better at communicating with soquili outside the herd and after all, they do deal with all enquiries for all kinds of jobs. They only take serious offers for their services, whether it be innocent or not, a soquili may haggle but if the nearest offer is not met they will often be wished a nice day and Inari will continue on their way. Any advances after this will be ignored, however Inari does have a limit and this should not be pushed, it is better to stay on their good side.
For Inari, tradition is very important, tradition makes up the basis of their life, and it's always important that the newer generations (be it their younger brothers or any new additions to the herd) learn it. With this being the case you can often find them practicing dance in early hours of the morning and they continuously practice their skills in different settings to find new ways to add to what they already have. Sand running is by far one of their favourite forms of leg training. Inari believes that even if you have become the master of a skill, you can always learn to improve somehow, this means they will always test their brothers at any time.
Often at the end of each week, they will plant seeds for the deceased that have died by the herd's hand, it's their way of restoring balance. Often it will be seeds which Inari and Akira have collected on their travels. They selectively choose which plants based on the location they are currently in but they never plants poisonous plants as their intention is to start life (in this case) and not harm the wildlife unless they have to. Inari often likes to go fishing in the lakes, they find it quite calming and fish don't scream like mammals do so it's quite a peaceful act of hunting for him but he does also enjoy a good chase when on the hunt to settle his blood lust and hunger.
Extra info: • Sometimes Inari can appear to be quite androgynous to others outside of the herd depending on what disguise is being worn, sometimes they'll present as female other times they will present as male depending on the job they are on.
•Often Inari will present as a female during trades and negotiations with other soquili / herds -----------------------------------------------------------
Name: Akira (Second Born) Speciality: Hunting / Gathering, Botany, Teaching and Childcare / Babbysitting (and being a chilled out dude~!) Personality: A warm hearted stallion who is generally laid back, out of the 6 brothers he's the only one to have truly mastered relaxation. He takes life as it comes and is less standoff-ish towards people. All in all he is a lot less tense than other members of the group.
Name: Yuuta • 優太 (Third Born) Speciality: Intel ( Good at going undercover via acting or what not and figuring out just who and what their target is, and if they need to do a full on attack or go in slow and steady/send one guy/ect ) Personality: Yuuta is a hard a**; he is very serious around pretty much everyone, even his own brothers. He tends to lighten up some when around them, though generally is still very stoic and calm. He hates being bothered when he's going to get information for a target, and will often lash out at others when doing so. He takes his job very seriously, and only wears his costume when "on the clock". He's a womanizer when anything pretty walks by, but the reasons for this is unknown to most.
Extra info: TBA
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ]Name:Hibiki (No-One) (Fifth Born) Speciality: Poisons, potions, chemistry, antidotes, stealth and intel Personality: He's a very withdrawn person. As a potions expert he's a stealth killer.. information is very key to stealthers. Hibiki tries to keep even his brothers at an "arms length" emotionally and can seem quite the recluse. He likes to do his job and should anyone be seen as even a possible threat to the good and safety of the herd he'd likely be the first to slip them an ever endless sleep powder and let the drift off peacefully to mortal dream. He doesn't keep "friends" and even if he had some he wouldn't share the intel with even his brothers. Friends are leaks.. weaknesses that could be their downfall. Children aren't seen as a priority he'd likely only breed if he needed to.. there isn't anything such as a "happy accident" as far as he's concerned. His loyalty to his work would even mean that should he breed, the mare would be watched by another member of the group and his offspring collected at the right time.. if word were to reach him that the mare tried to seek him out after he'd set her aside, she'd likely be visited in the night and poisoned to eliminate the threat.
Tarou is the youngest brother of the 6. He is a bit of a people watcher, he watched and learnt a lot from his brothers from when he was a very young foal. He is also always learning from new soquili he meets. He likes to see how people work and what happens when you push their buttons, to him it's all a game. He's quite a flirt, he likes messing with people's emotions but when he flirts, he doesn't often mean it. Tarou is a bit of an a** for doing this but he says it helps him to study the emotion of others to make him a better actor, he wants others to truly feel that he is authentic in his acting when on the job.
Inari and Yuuta often reprimand him for this and tells him not to mess with people because it could mean trouble, he's been a little bit of a rebel so far and hasn't taken his advice but I suspect he'll move on to other things in the future. To him, every soquili is a potential conquest or a project just because he thinks he can try but he knows this is not true.
Generally he's fine around his brothers, they're the only people he can relax around a little more but he can't help but feel that sometimes they're slightly pissed off by his antics. He's still finding his way within the group and still has a lot to learn before he's as good as his older brothers. He often looks up to Hibiki, despite being the second youngest child he's become highly-skilled with his powders and other methods of assassination. It's possible he's spent too much time watching other people and not enough time learning about who he is, maybe in time he will learn more about himself, he might even surprise himself.

Conditions of the Contest
By entering the contest you are agreeing to these conditions: • The character cannot have any conflicts with killing (they are a carnivore so they have to kill to survive) or their herd's way of life. • Keep the character in the herd, they were made to be in the herd. • Character has to have a Japanese name, if you get stuck you can find one here or check jisho.org (you can use #names in the search to find something you might like but it's not necessary). • You have to plot with us atleast, RP isn't required but it is definitely appreciated for bigger plots. • You have to keep a profile for them in the subforum so we can keep everything organised. • Keep me up to date on their lineage so I can update the family echo. • If you ever plan on rehoming them in the future, also let me know so I can fill the new owner in on the fun.
Notes on names
• If the chosen name has more than one character variation (spelling) and you aren't sure of which one to choose, just send me a PM and I can help you decide. For example: Akira has 2 variations, "昭亮" and "明亮" (The characters you choose will usually have an impact on the meaning behind the name.)
• If you are unsure of the character's name in characters just put "unsure" in brackets next to the name you have chosen and I will try and help you find them.
• If there is no character equivalent the name the name will listed in Kana (ひらがな・カタカナ) for you. - Kana = Japanese phonetic alphabets (hiragana and katakana)

Plum-blossom butterfly (梅蝶). 梅 is an exceedingly rare character for plum-blossom, and B is an exceedingly rare sound for the start of a female name—voiced consonants like B, D, and G are considered less refined than unvoiced consonants like P, T, and K. Overall, an unusual and memorable geimei.
Quite a few geisha, especially 18th- and 19th-century geisha, have names with male endings: Aitarô, Hatsutarô, Kotarô, Mametarô, Tamatarô; Fukusuke, Harusuke, Tamasuke, Unosuke, Utanosuke. While explanations are thin on the ground, one Japanese commenter suggests that the tradition began as an Edo-period attempt to get around restrictions on female geisha. Male geisha weren't as heavily policed as female geisha because male geisha weren't involved in prostitution; so if the local commissioner saw a male name on the list of newcomers to the district, and he didn't care to follow up in person...
Having a male name would have seemed dashing. Stylish women had been appropriating male symbols since at least the 12th century, when the shirabyôshi danced before the imperial court wearing men's clothing and carrying a sword. By the early 1600's, trendy young girls might dress their hair like men, even dress themselves like men, following the fashions set by the cross-dressed actress/prostitutes who pioneered a hot new style of theater called "kabuki." The trends were subtler by the mid-1700's, when female geisha began their rise to prominence, but masculine touches still looked daring, high-spirited, gallant. When female geisha wore men's jackets and took on a man's profession, why be surprised when some of them took on men's names?
Gender: Trans Female (DMAB) Speciality: Tea Ceremonies Personality: Baichō, who prefers to be referred to exclusively as female, is very similar to the traditional geisha in many respects. She's polite, well educated, exceptional at conversation and entertainment. She especially reveres traditional tea ceremonies. Though, like many in her herd, she is also an assassin upon hire. Using poisons she obtains from Hibiki, when hired to do so she can easily slip a lethal dose to her hosts without anyone suspecting. It's very hard to read Baichō as she almost never exposes her real face to anyone outside of her closest family members. She's appears charming, friendly, loving, and accommodating to anyone she runs across, though she's exceptionally versed in acting and manipulations. She's just as polite and pleasant to strangers she meets on the streets as she is to those she has been contracted to kill. While she would not consider herself vain, she is incredibly meticulous about her appearance. She's also rather picky about her perfumes, preferring the scents of white plum and sakura. Prompt:
(Prompt 1, with a bit of free-form) Perception is more important than reality Baichō thought to herself as she adjusted her kitsune mask. If you look perfect, then you are perfect. Indeed, every hair on her head, every fold in her clothes, and every coin on her haircomb was excruciatingly staged: in her line of work the devil was in the details for sure. She looked herself one more time in the looking glass before being satisfied, then lit some incense on the altar near the door to her dwelling, and stepped into the morning sun.
Everything took planning. Even as she walked, she did so with a grace and poise that was polished by seasons of training. The illusion was to mimic that of a cloud; besides her feet barely anything else on her moved as she made her way towards the client. She could feel the eyes on her; from the other Soquili to occasional two-legger that was passing by. The mask she wore obscured her face from them, but she watched them carefully with her trained eyes. She did not engage; for she had calculated the precise time she was arrive at her venue. Being late was not an option, and being too early may be construed as carelessness.
On her back, a bamboo-woven crate contained all her supplies for the chaji she was hired to perform; contracted by a mare to give to her mate. She has packed it carefully, using on the finest koicha and elegant instruments from her homeland. When she arrived at the venue, the host mare was happy to greet her, welcoming her inside.
Baichō was pleasantly satisfied with the set up. As requested a large area in a shady thicket has been prepared with woven tatami mats, and several paper lanterns hung from the branches of the shady hideaway that bathed the area in a comforting, warm glow. She smiled under her mask, just barely visible to the host.
She finished setting up the rest while the guests began to arrive. The scent of incense filled the space, and Baichō shook the fragrant branch of ripe sakura petals - releasing not only the heavenly, sweet cherry scent but littering the ground in beautiful, pink glitter. The tea was already being prepared over the fire, and a chorus of trained songbirds filled the thicket with melodic ambiance.
The guest of honor was a handsome stallion; the mate of the host who had hired her. His coat was a deep, velvety brown; flecked with just a dusting of black dappling. His thick, long mane was kept back in bundled braids, and two long, back-spiraled ramlike horns curved back over his ears. Indeed, he was quite resplendent next to his rather plain lifemate. He seemed unfamilar with this kind of party, but he was being a rather good sport about it.
The stallion, Tapper was his name, in which is mate had indicated meant 'Valiant' in some exotic Northern dialect, could not take his eyes off the enigmatic and beautiful Baichō. Every chance he got he would sidle up to her and start conversation, making any excuse to reach for her and 'accidentally' touch her paws as she served the tea. Of course, Baichō was happy to oblige; letting a shy smile and melodic giggle escape her mouth at his attention. This was all part of the fantasy. Part of the plan. If the guest of honor didn't believe that Baichō's whole world was completely focused on him, then she was failing at her job.
It was only ten minutes before the ceremony ended that Baichō presented the guest of honor with a mochi bun - meticulously handcrafted by herself with the finest ingredients...including a completely potent, tasteless concoction Hibiki had provided to her. Of course, Tapper was none the wiser, and happily devoured the proffered dessert with gusto. She blushed modestly and covered her face in her paws as he went on and on about its delicate flavor, then launched into a story about a great beast he had once slain up north.
After it was all done; everything neatly packed away, the host mare was waiting for her by the entrance to the thicket. As Baichō passed, she looked into her eyes through the slits in her mask, and gave her an almost inperceivable nod. The only confirmation that the job was done.
Of course, Baichō would long be home, and the sun have set, and all the herd deep asleep before Tapper would be dead.
Exactly as it was meant to be.
Future Plots? I'm actually not too fond of overly-plotting things out in advance; a) because I get attached to the ideas and b) often the best plots kind of happen as they come along and see how the character plays out against others, etc. But that being said there are some things I've love to do.
For one, I'd love to see her interactions with her family. While she's still rather guarded around them, they are the only Soquili in the world she would ever let her guard down around - even just a little! I especially would love to see how she interacts with Hibiki, since I figure this is where she gets most of her poisons from.
At some point in the future - probably distant future - I would love to have her be in some kind of peril. Kidnapped by an evil force or skinwalker; something brutal that takes her completely out of her element. She's a complete control-freak, and being out of control would terrify her. I'd love for her have to save herself (not be 'rescued' but maybe have some assistance from others), having to use her wit and quick-thinking instead of having everything perfectly planned out in advance.
Name meaning: (The kanji chosen for Shi's name means "Death"; However, a homonym is 四 (Shi), meaning "Four" - as Shi is the fourth born. In Japanese society, because of this same pronunciation, the number four is considered a bad omen/ unlucky. When Dealing with others not aware of Shi's profession, they will explain the relevance to their birth order.)
Gender:Androgyne /Agendered , DMAB
Speciality: Painting, Dance, Physicality ((think an adapted martial arts for an equine build - elegance of the fox with their inherent power of the bear behind it)
Personality: Shi has embraced their darker side than some of their siblings. Having been born fourth, or unlucky, they have turned this into a part of their identity. They find no shame in his profession, and no reason to hide what they do. Instead, he presents it with skill an beauty. Truly, they believe, anything can be turned into an art - even the act of killing. Shi very much believes in the idea of "kata" - there is a proper way to go about doing everything - from folding an obi to how one eats a meal - to how one takes a life. They are less about stealth, and more about where precisely to slice with a claw to hit a vital organ - while moving their body in a graceful art. It is done with respect - not with malice or brutality. They carry this act into a post-kill ritual, as the intricate red patterns on their legs are often gone over with blood.
Shi's specialities, aside from the art of killing, stems from such actions. Shi is fond of brustroke painting, and of dance. Even when it does not bring death, the movement of the body is a beautiful thing that can be shared and respected.
Shi sees themselves as a figure poised at the precipice of life and death - an unlucky omen of four, and strides the line between fox and bear, male and female. Shi prefers a neutral "they" term. They do not adopt disguises or shift between male and female identities. Death is both, death is neither.
Prompt:
Prompt 1:
A breath, a breeze in the air - crisp and cool this fall morning with a hint of sweetness that its it out of place. The perfume of Shi's target. They stand poised, breathing, waiting. It is not yet time, and they will not spoil the dance.
The slight mare rounds a corner, stinking of too much perfume to hide the stench of her misdeeds that landed her in the sights of the Kitsunekuma clan.
Shi stands in her path, lit by the soft glow of paper lanterns along the narrow alley.
"Hakubaiko... your death has found you. It is time to face it." Shi says solemnly.
The mare's eyes widen, and with a gasp, she turns, fleeing.
Dishonorable. But not unexpected.
Shi sets off after her, kicking off from their stance as a dancer begins their routine. This reaction was predicted, and there is a way to deal with it - a way to act. With the swiftness of the fox, the elegance - their hair streaming behind them, Shi slips after her, using a wall to the side as a kick off point for an elaborate jump, landing in the mare's path.
Hakubaiko stops dead, frothing with sweat, stinking of fear. This time, Shi gives no warning - she has already given her that gift once, it does not come again.
Instead, Shi spins, lashing out with the claws of their hindpaws. The strength of the bear. The claws cut deeply across the mare's face and she gurgles and drops to her knees. In one smooth motion, Shi continues her turn and lands with her forepaws on her throat, ending her life quickly and artfully.
Shi lands, sticking her pose in a crouch, their hair settling over their shoulders.
A breath. A breeze in the air, and now, the sickly sweet scent of death covers the overabundance of the mare's perfume.
Finally, She dips a paw in the pooling blood and carefully, artfully, brushes it over her legs. The liquid-resistant cloud patterns Shi painted along her fur earlier repels the blood as the red soaks into the rest of their fetlocks. A successful kill, Shi bears the markings of a job well done.
Future Plots?
Not specifically. Shi would trust and follow the orders of their leaders, taking on contracts that are well suited to their specific talents.
I would of course love to have Shi interact with their clan and participate when they are called upon.
Since Shi has a fascination and respect for death, they may investigate the skills of other practitioners of the arts to learn their methods. However, they would be rather horrified by those who revel in killing for its own brutality rather than a respect for movement and clean execution. It would be almost a foreign concept for Shi to encounter someone who killed for their own pleasure rather than a duty or serving some sort of justice.
Name meaning: Mattaku Kaomasen translates roughly into "no face." Though this may be a bit of a misnomer, it suits Mattaku well as he adheres to the reputation of his herd by not having one set face, or identity. Because he is able to adorn so many various masks or faces it can be said that he has no true face. Gender: Male, DMAB Speciality: Mattaku's specialty lies in the arts of distraction. He is very skilled in the ways of misdirection through performance arts, mimicry or the inciting of chaos and strife. However this does not mean he goes around making an idiot of himself as the honor of both his herd and his family is of the highest importance to him. He is also in possession of an excellent memory which makes him quite useful when the need to retain a lot of intel or information will come in handy. Personality: There is much more to being a hunter than the lethality of one's claws and fangs, a fact that Mattaku knows quite well. Which is why his often boisterous and attention seeking nature is perfect when it comes to the art of drawing the eyes of would be onlookers away from the prize. In this sense he is more bear than fox due to his seemingly brutish nature. From the scarlet hue painted upon his body to his large stature, everything about him can be utilized to orchestrate the perfect distraction. And he loves every minute of it.
Though, there is often the question of which Mattaku is the real one because his personality can shift quite dramatically in a very short amount of time. Balance must always be maintained and as such, for every instance of a boisterous Mattaku, there is an equal instance of one that is cold, calculating, and nearly unresponsive. Often times this is the mask he adorns when performing a job on his own as opposed to when being part of a team. Because he is so good at mimicry there may be many instances of a different Mattaku, this is how he truly lives up to the herd reputation. It is highly unlikely that you will encounter the same Mattaku twice.
Honor and pride are two values that Mattaku holds very dear, as such he would die before doing anything to harm the herd or his brothers. And seeing how the herd sees it as a great inconvenience to lose their members, he does not take death lightly. He is a truly devoted soldier who holds the highest of reverence for Inari and the dam. He could ask for nothing more than what he has already. Prompt:
Prompt Five: On the outside A Kitsune’s strength lies in the number of tails it possesses, and Mattaku felt vulnerable leaving behind the brotherhood that made up his strength. To him they were as dear to him as a Kitsune’s tails, and held just as much power. Each of them made up a complete unit, and even though he was merely wandering from the herd for a few days he already felt some of his energy being drawn away. A Kitsune is able to call upon great forces by rubbing its tails together, and that was how he saw his brothers; as the power summoned by that very same action. Even so, he knew he would not wither and die for he was also a bear, and bears had strength and fortitude of their own.
His massive paws made nary a sound as he carefully tread along a deer trail, his mask glistening in the dimming light of dusk. He was heading to an approved meeting place in order to take a job in exchange for some herbs his brothers Hibiki and Inari had asked for. Typically their stores housed all they could ever want or need, but this winter had been rough and certain herbs sparse. His other siblings had been busy with other tasks assigned to them, but Mattaku was more than happy to do anything for the herd. His family was all he needed, and nothing would change that.
He caught movement up ahead and found himself staring down an insolent looking mare as he exited the clearing. Her gaze sharpened as he drew near, and as she seemingly attempted to peer into his soul he drew a haze about himself by selecting a personality from his rather impressive repertoire. He came to a stop wordlessly before her and bowed his head in courteous greeting, a greeting she seemed rather more disgusted by than impressed.
“Murderer..” She murmured under her breath as she tossed a small, fragrant pouch at his feet. “That is the first half, you will get the second when my father’s disgusting request has been fulfilled.” Her resolve seemed to fail her as Mattaku lifted his head to reveal a toothy grin protruding freakishly from the underside of the mask.
“Disgusting you say?” Though audible his voice was that of a mischievous whisper which caused her to lean in to hear, and very quickly recoil once she had heard his words. “I wonder then, why you come bearing payment in your father’s stead.” He could almost see the shiver that jolted her spine. “I don’t have to explain myself to you…you wretched killer.” Her chin lifted in the air as though she were proud of herself, and when in this character Mattaku found it quite amusing.
“Everyone must die; it is a force of nature.” His claw dug into the pouch she had so disrespectfully tossed into the dust and he began dragging it in a small circle.
“And you consider yourself to be this force?” She scoffed. “What gives you the right?”
His pattern stopped mid-circle as a humorless laugh first echoed hollowly in his chest and slowly died away on the gentle breeze that served as the sun’s final breath before darkness fell upon the two. He began walking toward her until she was backed helplessly against a tree, and that was when he felt most comfortable answering her. “I am sure you will agree that I am indeed forceful, and seeing as I am a part of nature the answer should be self-explanatory to a relatively intelligent mare such as yourself.” His chin jerked in the direction of the pouch he had left behind. “As for what gives me the right, examine if you will the unsuitable payment you earlier tossed at me. It is there you will find your answer.”
Her heartbeat was nearly audible as the tree began to quiver from her shaking. “Un-unsuitable?” Was the only word she could manage to squeeze out of her constricting throat.
“You dishonor my herd, as well as the code we live by.” Running a claw up her leg he continued. “By only delivering half the agreed upon amount you have insulted our integrity. And that is something I simply cannot abide by. You have one hour to retrieve the amount I asked for, plus an extra batch as well for wasting my time. Do not think of running,” his eyes glinted beneath his mask, “finding you would be all too simple.”
She very nearly tripped in an attempt to get away from him, and as he watched her go he remembered why he never yearned for a life outside of his herd. The world outside was full of nothing but self-righteous, pitiful soquili who could never understand the depth of learning his herd had done. The hour was just about past when he noticed her climbing up the hill with two packs strapped to her back. Just as a cloud concealed the moon, his personality changed once more.
“My my, what a heavy load. Allow me to assist you with that, would you?” Her face contorted once more at his welcoming mannerisms as he approached her, and inwardly he felt a bubble of joy welling up inside of him at his ability to do honor to his Kitsune lineage.
Future Plots? Channeling the Nogitsune: A nogitsune is a kitsune spirit that has been classified as a dark spirit. The nogitsune feeds off of chaos and strife. I would like for Mattaku to somehow learn how to perfect this from one of the herd members. He is not evil, but rather channels the useful parts of a nogitsune's otherwise tarnished reputation. After all, they are quite crafty and experts at throwing others off of their scents, as well as causing great confusion. Assassin of a Different Hue: It would be interesting to have Mattaku have a run in with one of the other assassin type soquili within the shop. The clash of codes and fight styles could prove to make for quite an interesting rp. It would end in a draw, but Mattaku would never forgive himself for not being the victor of a fight and would make that character his rival. Always intent on redeeming himself and the herd he represents. Opening Shop: Mattaku would never take a job without Inari's blessing, but I would like for him to take a few individual jobs in which to hammer out his character(s) and work on his skills. I would also set up a special way in which he is summoned, such as tying a knot around a certain tree or meeting at a certain place at a certain time. Something like a call sign. (Once approved herd wide of course.) Do you agree to the conditions?: Yes (Please excuse any and all spelling errors, it is quite past my bedtime but I simply had to enter ASAP! Thank you!)
Username: dawns_aura Name: 成美 ('Masami') Name meaning: From Japanese 成 (masa) "become" and 美 (mi) "beautiful". Gender: trans female, DMAB Speciality: healer (medicine and emotional), dancer Personality: Despite her rather impressive size, Masami is all that a lady shoud be, elegant, graceful, poised. All things that come in handy when dancing, her primary speciality in the herd. While she is an entertainer, and dances for the enjoyment of others, it is for her one of the greatest pleasures in her life. It is how she can best relate to the world, and to express herself.
When she is not wearing her mask, and performing her duties outside of the herd, she is quiet and not prone to much action. She observes things around her. Sees things most others would ignore or write off. She uses these observations to learn and to heal others. Empathic, she feels emotions deeply, and connects with others who feel similar, this inspired her to learn what she could about the arts of healing, both physical and emotional. Through her training, she discovered a passion almost as great as her passion and devotion to dance. While she is masked and doing whatever job she has been hired to do, she is all business, cold and ruthless.
She is distant in her personal life, not forming attachments to anyone or anything. Because she knows just how precarious life can be and how fleeting anything good is. The only thing that she comes even remotely close to is family. But even they aren't allowed all that close. But she does care, hence her interest in the healing arts as well as the standard hitman training. Of her family, she respects Inari the most, envies Akira his laidback attitude, has a mild dislike of Yuuta and his attitude and is indifferent to Hibiki and Tarou.
Prompt:
Free for All- I burn to make you understand One wrong word and it all may come crashing down For the fates are devious by heart They envy you your dreams, so they'll let you drown
Masami could feel the beat of the music pulsing through the ground, up her legs and through her very blood. Beating in tune with her heart. Letting go all her conscious control of her movements and her thoughts, she let herself go. To be taken over by the music. This was her show, and she was sure as hell gonna make sure it was a memorable one.
It started off slow, gentle swaying and one paw carefully placed behind the other. And a few simple taps and the tossing of her long mane, left to flow freely as she moved. It was as much a part of the dance as her movements and expressions.
This, this was without a doubt, her favorite kind of job. She would perform a specific set and entertain not only her target - if she was lucky - but many others as well. And after the set, or during the brief intermission, she would socialise with a select handful of those who were there to see her, deal with her target, then return to the limelight, no one the wiser.
She drifted off, for the moment allowing herself to become lost in the music. Soon enough she would have to snap back to reality and do what needed to be done. For now she would enjoy herself. Time enough for blood later.
Do they burn, the wishes whispered, like secrets, they yearn, just to be heard I'm done with questions, I have no answers, the choice is yours, cos the show is on right... Here and now with all dreams realized Would you choose still more time to do Don't fall down cos I need you to rise No-one else can heal my wounds
Inside the herd lands, all costumes and masks were gone, and Masami was free to be herself. She could let down as much as she was able. She would dance, always dance, but home, amongst the herd, it was more free and joyous. More fun. Because she could truly let go and not have to worry about anything but what was happening in that very moment.
And she would watch, observing the world around her, trying to see what made others tick, and what made them feel lighter, better, healthier, so she could apply it in her duties as a healer. This was also a time for her to spend some time with her family. This was the time she could take stock, could learn, could dance, could heal. Beacuase that was who she was and what she wanted out of this life.
The bigger the lies The more they want to believe them And like a vice Hold on to what they believe in
It was time. Another task, another mask, another performance. And inevitably another kill. She sighed to herself as she accepted the help of the familiars to put on her newest costume and wait for Inari or whoever it was giving her the assignment, to show up with her orders. With the job, and the part she was expected to play.
This, however, was one of the biggest audiences to date. How exciting. And somewhere out there was some poor schmuck whose time was up.
Fetlocks bound the raccoon ran one clever paw over the ribbons to make sure, as Masami settled the mask carefully over her face. It was almost time for the curtain to rise on a new show.
((the italics are lyrics from the song Heal My Wounds by Poets of the Fall. I kinda see the song as being Masami's Theme/Character song so....))
Future Plots? Basic over-all plots include building relationships with her family and other members of the herd or their allies, accepting and fulfilling missions assigned to her by Inari or whoever, Dance performances, and chances to practice the methods of healing she knows. Perhaps encounters with others - male and female - who might be amused, confused, whatever by her. Encounters with others of trans, intersex or other marginalised genders. Finding someone -race gender, etc does not matter - to love her as she is. Finding and adopting a foal to raise on her own.
Small plot arc Job Gone Awry - Masami takes on a job. She doesn't fail, but it goes wrong from start to finish. And she gets wounded, her confidence in herself and her training shaken. Heal My Wounds - After the botched job, she is hesitant to accept any assignments, fearing to fail or worse. She withdraws as her emotional scars get worse, to the point she is almost not a part of the herd. But something happens to cause her to realise she needs help to get her confidence back. To Dance Again - She starts off slow, taking a simple assignment, perhaps as part of a team. The assignment involves dance... To Get Revenge- In her free time, Masami chooses to go after the one form job gone awry and get revenge for what she went through...
And hopefully other plot ideas would pop up through experiences and rp.

Gender: Genderfluid Speciality: Weaponry, Traps, Gardening Personality: Harmoniously Boisterous - Kazuki has a sort of middle-child syndrome. While neither the eldest nor the youngest amongst them all, he is the one that keeps it all together. Within the family he is a peace keeper, an excellent listener and the kind of stallion who can see a problem from all angles. In a stressful situation, he prefers to be the optimistic one of the group, loud and supportive. With a booming laugh and a strong voice, Kazuki can give excellent advice and put a smile on even his most somber of brother's face. However, he is not one to be taken advantage of. As the weapons specialist in the family, he knows that behind brains there must also be the brawn to back it up, and vice versa. He believes in moderation in all things, and attempts to practice that in all walks of life. However, as he is so involved in keeping the family together and making them a working unit, he can come off as cold or brutish to strangers to threaten that harmony. Fiercely protective of his brothers, Kazuki would not hesitate to remove anyone disrupting the peace amidst his herd, by whatever means necessary. However, stay on his good side, and Kazuki makes a good-natured and level-headed friend. Prompt:

Username: Sesshiyasha Name: Sakuya 作哉 Name meaning: first Kanji- build, make, prepare, production, second Kanji - alas, how, question mark, what (Meaning from this site!) Gender: Male Speciality: Charming, People person, Practitioner of Ceremonies, Body guard, Manipulation Personality: Sakuya is a pretty boy and he knows it. He makes every effort to appeal to everyone. Unlike most of his siblings he is very comfortable in large crowds and is usually beside Inari during ceremonies and talks if he is needed. He knows when to keep his mouth shut, and when to speak. He has cold eyes but tries his best not to let them be seen that way by the rest of the world. He has a very cynical personality and he isn't one to do something unnecessary if there is nothing for him to gain from it. While he appears very serene and Gentlemanly, it's mainly an act. He will maintain that persona to his utmost capabilities. He will go out of his way to make any mare or stallion look his way if he sets his sights on them. He also loves the reactions he gets from those around him, and will do whatever he can to find those interesting reactions. If a reaction isn't what he was hoping for his mood with change slightly and he will attempt to get back that reaction he was going for, or a more interesting one. He has a very strong mean streak under his clam exterior and you don't want to see him get serious. He doesn't mind using his skills in order to bring pain to someone on a job, or who decides to move in on something he has deemed as his. In those instances his bite is much worse then his bark.
Sakuya has a Romantic soul. He focuses on more of the Romancey and lovey type stuff. He is the one who will make sure a dance is perfect before going onstage. He is a complete perfectionist, he can't stand when something is out of place. He tends to like things exactly where they are and likes to have all of his strings knotted before be pulls them into place. One loose string could mean everything his brothers and he has worked for. He loves traditions and loves to see the looks on peoples faces. He has a tendency to go over the top when doing things. He looks up to Inari and feels that Inari is probably the one of his brothers who understands him the best for his love of traditions and the ceremonies, and his love of outsiders. He loves all sorts of things from his brothers from Akira's calm nature and willingness to take the younger ones of the herd, to Hibiki's knowledge. He values all of his brothers. He also takes the traditions of the Herd very seriously. He will do whatever it takes to maintain them. He has a carefree spirit. If a situation is to tense he is usually the one to break the tension. He likes to go off on his own in town in order to keep his fans entertained. He is more focused on the attention the most anything else. He loves the herd and will help out when needed, but in his off time he would much rather be in town socializing and finding out more of the gossip. One thing he has learned that his fans are good for is the current gossip. It has proven to come in handy more then once. He figures his brothers just look at him as the aloof attention hog anyways so he should just play it up to get more information for them.
While Favoring Mares, it is not unknown for him to give his attentions to a stallion. He will do whatever it takes to get the job done. Prompt:
In the soquili's own words, tell us how they deal with people outside the herd. (Prompt 4)
Sakuya looked around at his brothers as they came off the stage. He was still pumped with the energy of performing. He could feel the excitement and the energy coursing through his veins. He kept his calm and level head. He smiled at his brothers as he looked at each of them. This was one of the things he loved the most. He lived to be in front of the crowd Performing. He actually enjoyed being the center of attention.
He laughed at his brothers as he noticed Hibiki sliding off in his reclusive nature, he had always been amazed that his brother knew so much, but yet was such a recluse. He watched as his brothers all seemed to go their own separate ways now that the gig was done. He walked out from behind the small curtain that separated the back stage area from the crowds. This was a street performance so there wasn't much in the way of back stage areas. Inari had told him that he had the day off and could do as he pleased. As he steps through the curtain he can hear the excited cheers, squeals, and collective group that had waited for his entrance. He smiled at the awaiting fans. 'Saku Saku Saku!!!' they chanted to him. He reveled in it and walked up to them happily. He enjoyed big crowds and felt at home in them. It was nice because one could easily wander deeper into a crowd and disappear in order to pop up behind someone else. One could also use it to see all of their surroundings and make sure they could keep an eye on everything that was going on around them. That was when he noticed her. She had been there, she had been at every gig and every performance they had. She always seemed to watch him. He laughed as he walked towards the female. Nuzzling a few of his male and female fans as he walked near them.
"Thank you everyone.... You are too kind.... You all didn't have to wait for me... I'm sure you guys have other things to do...." He said as he passed each group of fans. He let his kind and compassionate side show as he still made his way towards her. He would never let anyone know that he favored one of his groupies. He tended to look for her without thinking he was looking for her. She was almost a constant staple in his Performance life.
He came around from behind and stood next to her, wrapping his tail around her leg. He chuckled a little when she jumped ever so slightly. He had surprised her. It was nice that he was still able to do that. She would never know all of his little quirks and tricks. After all, who besides his brothers would know and understand. He heard her heated response to being startled by his tail.
"Aww but my dear... You know I would always come to your rescue...." He said with his seductive voice. He laughed once more. It was always so much fun to see the different kinds of reactions he could get from those around him. He turned to one of the males beside him and gently nuzzled up beside him. "After all... I need to protect all of my own...." Still in his seductive voice. He could see the big stallion blush a bit as he narrowed his eyes to look back at the mare. He saw her turn her head like she didn't care. This changed his mood some. He was hoping for a much better reaction from her. His tail twitched idly as he pondered for a moment what to do next.
"So where are we all going for the after party?" He looked up to the stallion he was still cuddled up to. "After all... we should celebrate shouldn't we? It is Tradition..." he said mixing his innocent voice with his seductive one. He would manipulate the situation to go how he wanted to. He heard the stallion stammer a bit, and smirked, that was the reaction he had been hoping for. Then he heard him say a place on the edge of town where they usually went. "Wonderful!" he said as he started walking towards that part of town. Once he had gotten back to the edge of his fans he turned and looked back at the mare who seemed to follow him everywhere. "Well... Let's not waste any time..." he smiled at her. "Not that being with Any of you lovelies would be a waste..." he added. He chuckled to himself as he turned back around. He had them right where he wanted them. He would find out all of the new gossip there was tonight and he would find out who was there and who wasn't. He liked to keep tabs on his fans. After all, one needed to maintain their entourage. As long as he continued like this he would have everything he needed. He smirked as he walked towards the place the party was to be held. This was one tradition that he had started after his performances that he liked more then anything else. It allowed him to be able to almost be himself, or well the him that he was when around fans. They would never know his dark side, and he kind of enjoyed that.
After he realized that the others were following him he noticed that his mare was behind him. He turned to her now, "After you M'lady...." he said as he bowed his head. He watched her surprise at his gesture and it sparked something inside him. His thoughts of manipulation and darkness seemed to lighten. He smiled as he walked beside her. "So... what have I missed since the last time I saw you...?" He kept and eye on her, he would never let her know how much he watched her, but he always did. His training made it so he constantly observed his surroundings. He was always aware what was going on. He listened as she told him that he really wouldn't care. "Of course I would..." he prodded lightly. "Come on now... Tell me..." His gentle side had taken over again, and covered his dark side. He listened to her go on about all the things she had done and what had happened when she wasn't at his performances. He smiled as she opened up to him. Somehow she always seemed to calm him, and he wasn't quite sure why. He would need to explore that a bit more.
Future Plots? Spoiler tagged because they are kinda long o.o Not in any particular order...
I would like for Sakuya to find a "Groupie" he will favor this groupie but they wont know it or understand it. His other fans will pick on the groupie for it. this is where he will show that his bite might just be worse then his bark. At first he will be ok with it, and find it just harmful pranks, then as things get more serious for him he will lose his patience with the fans, who will have gotten increasingly jealous of the groupie.
DO I really care? -This is the plot where Sakuya realizes that the groupie that has become his favorite and always seems to show up, he has grown to actually care for. He will be angry with himself and will fallow the groupie through town. Using every stealth tactic that he can think of. He will watch and just observe how that one acts and moves. He will take this time to figure out where his head is. He will be harder to deal with during this stage, and it would be fun to see his reactions.
I'm just a performer... - This is where if the groupie has also falen in love with him, and accepted him then he is going to try and keep her from the truth of his other line of work. He will want to bring her/him into the herd and make them part of it. For the first time, he will want to protect someone other then his own flesh and blood. This is important to him because it shows that he can be accepted for being himself.
Now is where you shut up - I would like for this plot to be where he is working with Inari and they have gone to see someone who wanted the herd's services but doesn't want to pay for them. He will be the one to stand at his brother's side, and as the "Employer" gets more agitated he steps between his brother and the employer. This could be anything from a "Step down... and you wont get hurt" to actually hurting the employer depending on how much he has irritated Sakuya.
Blood doesn't lie - This is where Sakuya will return bloody and tired from a Job. All he will want is to go and lay down with his companion, will walk in and have his companion horrified at his appearance. This would be the telling plot before lifemating, if he were to lifemate. If the Companion were to Reject him during this they would surely seal their fate. His concern and patience would be very thin at this moment, he may give the companion a day or two to think things over, but not by leaving the Herd. If he gets rejected I could see him being a complete cold individual. His emotions would be masked unless he was acting.
Self Awareness - This is a plot where Sakuya needs to figure out exactly what he needs in order to complete his Job. The job in this case is to go after a low profile character who has wronged a family. Be it for robery, or even murder, this could evolve in multiple ways. This plot is where Nothing goes right for Sakuya, he does manage to complete to job, but in the process his Perfectionist habit kicks in and causes him much grief. He will learn that He needs to be better prepared and not get too confident when dealing with smaller seemingly "Easy" jobs.
A Dancer or A Killer? - This is where Sakuya may have to make a choice. He would never give up either side of himself for anything. In this he has been caught and has to figure out where the loyalties will lie for the time being. Is he just a Dancer? or is he the Skilled Killer his brother's know him to be? He will need to attempt to come to this realization by himself. In the meantime while he doesn't know it, I would like for one or two of his brothers to come to "Retrieve" him from his captors. This would be a good exercise for them not to leave anyone who trifles with them alive. He will go through some emotional barriers through this Plot, and it will help him further develop who he is.
For the Fans! - This is where Sakuya decides that even though his pride is still hurt from his mission backfiring and going wrong that he still needs to uphold his image. He will go to great lengths and probably get very snappy with those around him because he wants this to be perfect for the fans. He will do his best to put on a show that he thinks the fan will love more then anything else! To him this show will be the "Best one Ever!" I would like for this to be split into two parts, the first part will have Sakuya preparing for the Show and working closely with Inari to make sure that everything is set, ready, and Perfect. The second part will be the performance side of things. Making sure the stage is set, everything is in it's place. As well as making sure he remembers everything that needs to be done. This will show his OCD Perfectionist side. It will also be the Plot that puts him back on track. It will end with him realizing that he can be both a performer and a skilled killer.
What did you just say?! - This is where Sakuya has just been told by his Groupie that she is Expecting. He will freak out and have to take some "Me" time in order to sort out his thoughts. He will go and observe other families in a nearby village. During this plot he will think about how he feels about being a father. What will become of the foal or foals? "OMG WHAT IF THERE ARE MORE THEN TWO?!" Will be basically how his mind will work. He will wonder if he should abandon the foals to a Good couple in the village. He will even go as far as to observe different couples who may have been wanting offspring. In the end he will decide to do the Honorable thing and take responsibility for his actions. He will love his Groupie even more and it will bring them closer together. If she can get over his hot headed response of yelling at her and asking "How did this happen?! I mean I know how.... But.... How....?" For Saku this will definitely be one of those times where his entire persona is cracked. This will be the time where she sees what he considers his "Real" self. This can be divided into a couple different sub-plots. I do see him coming back and Raising the foals to love traditions and the arts as much as he does. He will realize that being a father isn't all that bad. There will be times where he will get frustrated and need a break, but it will strengthen his resolve. He will seek out Akira frequently in order to get his advice for the foals and what he should/should not be doing. His perfectionist side will be screaming the entire time the foals are growing because as we all know... kids are messy. lol
She is Mine! - This plot is where Saku realizes that there could be another stallion that his groupie has feelings for. This is before he realizes that he really does have feelings for her, and before she confesses to him. In his mind she is his and that's all that matters. He will attempt to steal her away from the other stallion and will give her more attention then he normally did. He will be jealous and angry at someone moving in on something he viewed as his. He will warn the other stallion if he doesn't back off. Should the other suitor persist in their attempts he will set his own job of seeing that the other goes missing. He wont play nicely, and he wont share.

Username: Cheyriddle4 Name: Katsumi 克己 Name meaning: name meaning self-control Gender:Asexual male Speciality: Stealth, Intimidation, and self control Personality: Katsumi is of a very suspicious sort. Not one to trust many he will not take off his mask around those he doesn't trust. The ones whom see him without the mask are his family and the select few with whom he has grown to trust without a doubt. He is often silent and can stand still without moving a muscle for long periods of times. Which has been useful when trying to intimidate someone. Yet he does have his own opinions and when the instance allows he will express them in the utmost respectful manner if it is someone whom he trusts. Though with a client he will not speak but a few words in the whole transaction. He is fiercely loyal to his family and can be brutal when killing those that wish harm to his herd. Sometimes even can be a bit twisted in that regard. Prompt:
Prompt 5- Katsumi stands silent upon a hill as he stops to take stock of his surroundings. He has come to listen to a client on a contract to kill that his brother had felt his specialties would be most effective. His eyes stare intensely around him filled with suspicion as he doesn't trust this stranger. He never has trusted strangers and always treated them in a silent standoffish manner. His silence oftentimes making them uncomfortable. He does not feign or act like someone else for they need to be tested. To make sure they are fully ready for what they are asking for. It is only when he is to approach his prey in which he will take on any persona necessary to get the job done. Whether that be a talkative friendly persona or one of a silent killer. To say that he doesn't take any pleasure in others nervousness would be a lie. It amuses him to see how others react to him. He finds that he gets more information when he stays silent and still. Letting the other assume and grow scared at knowing a predator is wanting something and yet not knowing what that thing is. His job brings him great satisfaction in that way. Makes dealing with his herd more tolerable. To say that he trusts his whole herd is not true for he has some doubts on some members. Not by their actions, but because he doesn't trust many people. Always one to wait for the cons to appear. He likes his family though. His siblings are those whom he holds in high regard and has fondness towards. Whether he would call it love. He doesn't know. Sometimes he wonders on whether he would ever trust someone that isn't part of his inner circle. Yet when he least expects it someone manages to worm their way into his trusted circle.
Future Plots? A tough assignment- Katsumi takes on an assignment where his prey manages to escape and he must track them down again. Taking longer than normal to complete the task. The contest of skills- Katsumi is sent to kill another not knowing that another assassin is also on the hunt for the same prey. It is while he is tracking the prey down when he catches rumors of another assassin in the area after the same prey. It becomes a game of skill and race against time. A kill of mercy or a tale of salvation He is coming back from completing a job. It is winter and he comes across an injured mare whom is in bad shape. He must decide whether to kill the mare or save her. ( I can see this one going many ways.Even to lifemating if he comes to trust the mare and become fond of her.) Why did we take this on?- Katsumi is given an assignment that he doesn't understand fully. This case confuses him and causes him to be suspicious of the one that started the process. He goes to seek his brothers advice on the subject.
