Katherine had her backpack slung over her left shoulder, her keyblade held rather loosely in her right hand. Since she had gotten it, she hadn't really figured out how to . . . dismiss it. And if she knew anything about keyblade wielders it was that they could both summon and dismiss their keyblades. Oh well! That's what she was coming to school for, right?! To learn how to be a better keyblade wielder! She looked around the campus with wide eyes and a growing grin on her face. "This place is HUGE!" she exclaimed, her natural wonder and excitement getting the best of her at the moment.

 Michael was walking through the courtyard to get back to the school when he noticed a girl with her Keyblade out. He wondered why for a moment but then heard her outburst about the school. He chuckled a little figuring she was a 1st year who just arrived. He decided to walk over to the girl and introduce himself. "Hey ya" He said with a warm smile at the girl.

Caught up in admiring the campus, Katherine was rather caught off guard when someone came up and spoke to her. She jumped a little before noticing that a guy had come up to her. She smiled back. "Er . . . Hi. Do you go here? I'm new! I only got my keyblade recently! My parents said I should go here to learn more about it. Do you have a keyblade? Am I rambling? I'm rambling aren't I? Sorry, I just . . . I've never been outside of Twilight Town before, I'm a bit nervous . . ." she trailed off with a nervous chuckle, looking down at her keyblade that she was now lightly swinging at her side. Way to blow the first impression . . .

Michael laughed a bit as the girl started to ramble. "Well to answer you questions. Yes I go here, yes I have a Keyblade, and yes you are rambling." He said with a soft chuckle at the end before speaking again. "But you said Twilight Town? That's my home too and I actually just got back from a visit." He said with another chuckle. "But anyway. I'm Michael, this is my second year. And you are?"

Katherine couldn't help but blush a little as he laughed at her. But he seemed friendly enough . . . "Ah, I'm Katherine. You're from Twilight Town too? I'm surprised I've never seen you around before, it's not like it's a big place or anything . . ." she said, and her right arm made a small jerking motion like she was about to hold it out to shake, but she realized she had the keyblade in it so she rather awkwardly moved it to her left hand and she held out her right. This led to a rather awkward sight as her backpack slipped off her left shoulder and down to her elbow causing her to have to bend over a bit from the weight. So not only did Katherine now have her Keyblade being held across her body from trying to keep her backpack up, but those attempts had failed and her backpack was now dangling off her elbow. Her embarrassed blush only darkened.

Michael laughed again as he watched the girl try to manouver her keyblade around. "You must not know how to get rid of it yet huh?" He asked then instead of shaking her hand he pulled her bag up her arm and made sure her arm was loose. "A keyblade comes to you when you're in danger and when you call it with your heart. So you can dismiss it by the same means. When you are calm and safe simply allow your heart to let go of the blade" He told her hoping she would understand quickly.

  Katherine dropped her hand and returned her keyblade to her right hand. If her blush could get any darker, it did. Her cheeks felt like they were on fire. She really felt like an idiot . . . "I-I've tried letting go of it! I know how to summon it, well, when I'm looking at it, like from across the room or something, I've been practicing you see! But when I tried summoning from a different room when I left it on my bed, it wouldn't come to me! But I can be on the other side of my room and call it to me! I just can't make it disappear. And I'm just really scared that if I do I won't be able to get it back again! I mean, I can't call it from out of nowhere yet! I mean, I did it, obviously, that's how I got it, but, well, you know?!" Katherine suddenly cut off her rant when her eyes widened as she realized . . . "Agh! I'm rambling again! I am SO sorry! I just, this has been the worst first impression ever! I must seem like a complete idiot . . ." she moaned out.

Michael stepped away from Katherine as he listened to her speak. As he listened he thought about what the problem could be. "Hmm that's strange. Just about everyone I know learned he to do that before they even came here" He told her but then realized that it might make her upset. "I mean not that that's so terrible I sure someone can teach you." He said then realized she had been rambling and probably didn't even hear him. He laughed a little bit at himself then smiled at Kathrine. "Well first impressions arn't always everything. Besides you can do it better with the next person, I'm sure."

Katherine smiled sheepishly and let out a hesitant laugh. "Yeah. I-I guess that's right." she said, relaxing a bit. "Still . . . is it really so weird? To . . . ya know, not be able to dismiss your keyblade at first? I mean, I only got it last week-ish so . . ." she muttered, raising her keyblade up and looking at it inquisitively. She tilted her head as she looked at it, and decided maybe she should try dismissing it one more time. Okay . . . Let go . . . Relax. It'll come back to me when I need it . . . She took a deep breath and then just . . . let go of the keyblade. Both mentally and physically. "Oh!" she gasped as the keyblade disappeared into sparkles that then also disappeared. "I did it." she said, eyes wide in a bit of shock, still holding her arm up. She couldn't believe she had done it!

Michael thought for a moment. "Well I suppose when you're first using it it's not so weird. For me I never really tried to call it so it just came when I needed it. So I learned through something like muscle memory after a while. It became second nature" He said then saw her keyblade disappear and smiled brightly at Kathrine. "Hey congrats you're already learning here" He said with a slight chuckle.

Katherine laughed, a grin spreading over her face. "I did it! I finally did it!" she said, bouncing a little in her excitement. However, she calmed down quickly when she realized she was probably making a fool of herself again and the blush returned to her cheeks. "W-well . . . um . . . thanks for helping me with that. I just . . . um . . . SO!" she exclaimed in an obvious change of subject, turning back to look at the school. "What types of classes are there? Obviously there's something that'll help me use my keyblade, but what can I look forward to?" she asked, knowing she was blatantly changing the subject but not really caring. Wow, she didn't realize how used to her own friends she was. Had she really grown so awkward around people she didn't know well? Apparently so . . .

Michael laughed a bit at Kathrine's excitement then again at her suddenly changing the subject. "No problem. But there are a lot of classes but you have to take a couple of essential stuff like healing magic and basic fighting styles that type of stuff" He told her.

I would wait forever, exalted in the scene
As long as I am with you, my heart continues to beat...Meanwhile in a quiet town a girl with long blonde hair sat on the railings of a balcony, her amber eyes gazing up at the moonlight as she sipped a cup of hot cocoa. "Today is the day I leave for the Academy." she said softly to herself with a small smile. With her one free hand she reached into her dark blue skirt pocket and pulled out a letter from Yen Sid and reread the instructions on how to get to where she needed to go before putting it back in. She turned and jumped back on the balcony carefully so as to not spill her drink and headed inside the small house to grab her things. When things were taken care of, she found her gummi ship and took off. She landed in the world the Academy was on and got out of her gummi ship. The blonde girl decided to take a look around, finding herself in the main courtyard of the school. "This place sure is big." she mused to herself with a small smile. She couldn't wait to meet other keyblade chosen like herself and learn how to fight against the darkness.  If you gave me a chance I would take it
It's a shot in the dark but I'll make it
Know with all of your heart, you can't shame me
