Rider
Name: Adi (Adine)
Age: 35
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
Rank: Courier
History:
For msot of her life, Adi as a pretty typical weyrbrat, with the typical upbringing. Her mother was an older candidate who, after ruining her last chance to Impress by getting pregnant, aged out and went home. Adi's been told about her, but has never met her, and doesn't know who her father is - and doesn't really care, in regards to either. The Weyrfolk are her family and friends, and she's plenty happy with that.
As a candidate, Adi's favorite chores were anything that put her outside, or in the kitchen (mm, sweets!)...although catching tunnelsnakes was sort of fun, too. She can make just about anything fun, as long as it's not something gross. When she has free time, she spends most of it outside, swimming, picking flowers, getting dirty, and generally enjoying the outdoors. If she can, she'll find someone to drag along with her; after all, anything fun is twice as fun with company! Unless she's sleeping, or really enveloped in a particular lesson, it's rare to find her being completely still. She has things to do, discoveries to make, and people to meet!
In her 16th turn, she Impressed blue Mazamath from gold Ianath's small clutch. The two performed adequately during their time as Weyrlings, and when they graduated were placed in a wing, the Storm Riders, where they also performed adequately (though enthusiatic, they are not, by any means, overachievers). When the Revolution came, she was caught up in the fighting at Malvren, though she was completely and utterly unsuited for it. After she was nearly strangled to death, she found her way to one of the last safe bastions there before the Weyr was lost and they fled to Trine. After recovering from the trauma of someone trying to kill her - a scenario that had ever even entered into her mind before the uprising - she and Mazamath became couriers. It is a rank they thoroughly enjoy, as it involves going lots of different places and meeting lots of different people! And access to things like shipments of dye for practice 'Thread,' which was very useful for turning Cepheith into Pern's first and only rainbow dragon...
All in all, they have been very happy in their time at Trine, and Adi in particular enjoys the tropical climate. After their disastrous introduction to fighting during the Revolution, they stayed well away from any fighting during the Wherwars, and have continued to do so now that the Rogue Golds have risen. They find the new era of color equality very exciting, although they have no intention of seeking higher rank themselves. They're happy as couriers, thank you!
Description:
She stands about 5'6," with hazel eyes and straight, dark brown hair cut to the middle of her back. Her complexion is on the fair side of average, but nothing exceptional. Adine is a pretty girl, decently curvy, a little heavier in the hip than in the bust. When not in her riding leathers, she wears as little clothing as is practical - Trine is hot! (Also, freedom~)
Personality:
Happy~! Adi's cheerfulness seems to know no bounds; she has a smile for everyone, and can carry on a conversation with even the quietest of people (so what if she has to do all the talking? she can!). She starts out liking someone from the moment she meets them, and it takes quite a bit of doing to change that opinion. They have to be downright, openly mean, and even then, they'll get the benefit of the doubt and a few more opportunities. It takes several kicks for Adi to learn that a certain someone should be avoided.
Either way, an unkind word is the easiest and quickest way to wipe the smile off of Adi's face - if it's harsh enough, she'll burst into tears and run away in search of a hug. In that way, and in general demeanor, her personality can be rather childlike: carefree, naive, and innocent-seeming. She loves being happy, and thinks everyone else should be happy, too. If they're having trouble finding a reason to smile, she'll persist until she finds a way to make them smile, whether it takes a hug or something more creative. Oh, and personal space? Adi has no concept of it. She'll sidle right on up to anyone and everyone without a thought, and it never ceases to surprise her when they're less than receptive to her intrusion.
Though it's extremely rare for her to do it in a malicious way, Adi is quite the gossip. Unless someone's careful to emphasize that they're telling her something in the strictest confidence (a promise is a promise!), anything interesting can and will be repeated...and every now and then, her mouth might get ahead of her mind, causing her to slip with something that should be a secret.
Outside of talking - and playing! - Adi absolutely loves plants, especially anything with pretty flowers or tasty fruits. She's been appropriating and growing them ever since they moved to Trine, and as a hobby keeps a garden outside her weyr...although 'garden' may not be the best word for it, as that implies some semblance of order. Adi's is hodge-podge and half-wild, no neat little rows here!

Dragon
Name: Mazamath
Age: 19
Colour: Blue
Description: x
Above Average/Above Average
Personality:
Mazamath is large and in charge... not. Well, he is large. He’s a cool, easy-going fellow. Very chill. It is difficult to rouse Mazamath to anger-- or, well, much of anything really. He’s quite content to be where he is, thank you very much. He’s not exactly lazy, precisely, so much as he believes in conserving his energy. Until, you know, it’s important! Convincing him that ‘now’ is important may prove to be difficult, as Mazamath has hidden reserves of strength. He can be mulishly stubborn, but when he is, he’ll present a very calm face.
If his mind is made up, it is difficult to change. Just as a river will slowly wear away at a mountain, so Mazamath believes he can influence his rider. It’s for the best, after all. Generally, though, he won’t bother. He is very zen, very calm in his approach to life. Fun is the name of the game, and if he isn’t having it, there must be something wrong in the world. He can be exceptionally playful, and is very inclined to go along with whatever mischief his rider has in mind, if the rider in question is the troublesome sort-- assuming, of course, it doesn’t involve a lot of running!
He is above such things, of course. It’s not laziness, it’s that same... conservation of energy. Don’t you look at him funny, he knows he’s being smart. Isn’t he? Who wants to get all fussed over nothing, anyway? Not Mazamath! He has a very soothing way about him, and an inherent belief in his rider’s abilities. If they need backing, he’s there. He likes to be a confidante. If he were human, he’d probably be the bartender to whom you spill your life’s troubles over a mug of something distinctly alcoholic. Lending a sympathetic ear doesn’t require much of anything from him besides listening, after all.
Other:
Adi's boundless happiness attracted Mazamath to her almost immediately. She's always seeking to bring happiness into her life and makes sure to do what she enjoys - something Mazamath finds very important. After all, if you don't like doing it, why do it at all? Her persistence in cheering someone up will also compliment his tendency to be that soothing shoulder to cry on - together he an Adine can be the perfect pick-me-up pair with the blue's calming depths and the girl's cheerful disposition.
Adi loves to play and this energy will help rouse the blue into action and his own level-headed approach will help tone down and focus her bubbling enthusiasm.
Finally, Mazamath is like any other dragon in that their safety and happiness is his highest priority. Where Adi might not quite understand her attentions are not wanted, if Mazamath gets it into his head that that individual is trouble for His... well, you can bet he's going to oppose her unneccessarily bashing her head against a wall quite strongly. Some people you just can't please and you shouldn't waste you time on them.
