(ORP: Anyone welcome to join!) Breakfast was just about well over. Most of the other riders had left the tables. Drudges were clearing away the remains and empty platters. There was only a few groups left talking in low voices.
Vosin was sitting at a side table alone. Teared apart a piece of cooked meat to feed it piece by tiny piece to a brown flit sitting begging on the table. She grinned with an elbow on the table as Vintage flicked his tongue out as he begged. A tiny piece was granted to the flit to be eaten.
It was part procrastination, and part indecision. Vosin wasn't sure what she wanted to do this day. True she could have gone out on Search, but she didn't feel like leaving the weyr. What was there around that she could do? She held a piece between her fingers and waved her hand side to side slowly. Vintage, his entire attention focused on the piece of meat, followed with his head and neck.

One of the stragglers of the day was sitting at one of the high tables. Before him was a mug of klah, and pushed to one side was a plate of bread and fruit that seemed to have been forgotten about in favour of the papers he was poring over and scribbling notes on. It was quite possible that nothing short of a nearby explosion would have got his attention. Not everyone was so absorbed in this own little world as Bereck was however. "Chrrp!" A pretty blue firelizard appeared and landed on the table a little way away from Vosin; he gave her a hopeful look. "Blorp?" A green firelizard appeared and landed heavily nearby; she was round-bodied, stubby-winged and judging by that landing had only a passing familiarity with flying. Then there was a brown, and another blue, and a third blue. All of them were now looking hopefully at Vosin, though the last of the blue's was twitching his tail back and forward as though he might be considering taking rather than begging for scraps.

Vosin smiled to herself as the tidbit was accepted and chomped quickly. She let the brown beg a moment as she tore off another piece. Suddenly she found the table covered in interested flits. The woman giggled softly as she looked over the group she'd collected. They were all very pretty and she judged they probably belonged to someone in the cavern. She waved another drudge over and sent her off to get some more meat, willing to amuse herself by feeding the begging flits.
Vintage twisted around as one... two.... five other flits landed and begged food from his person. He gave an annoyed squawk at them. The brown chittered and shuffled closest to Vosin so he'd be first to get fed.
She gave another piece first to Vintage as he was hers. Vosin trilled at the first blue and proffered him a piece. Her eyes glanced at the green, "hello there. You don't look like you really need to be fed more." She teased the green before granting her a tidbit too. Her eyes caught the overly eager blue, and she said firmly but kindly, "wait your turn you!" Thankfully the drudge arrived with more flit food. Vosin leaned her chin on her hand and dolled out pieces to the brown, and both waiting blues.
The amusement of her rider pulled her attention from her games. 'Are you collecting more of those?' The dragon commented to her rider when she looked through her rider's eyes at her collection of flits.
'Hahahha don't be silly! They belong to someone else already I'm sure.' She grinned at the flits. She had Vintage, and hadn't thought about trying to Impress another.

The green firelizard blinked at Vosin and made another 'blorp?' sort of noise. When she was offered the food she gripped it in both paws, sniffed it briefly, and then shoved it into her mouth. Each of the others took the offerings from Vosin with rather more elegance, even the one with the twitchy tail. Now they had been fed however they had no intention of leaving until they were sure there was no more to be had; as one the faire shuffled a bit closer to Vosin and made hopeful noises, all except the dark blue with the twitchy tail who turned to watch Vintage intently. Vintage would receive a feeling of protectiveness from the blue, a feeling of my faire with a hint of fight me if you don't like them. The first blue who had appeared turned as he felt the slight swell of aggression from his fairemate and offered a friendly feeling to Vintage, turning from Vosin to pad over to the brown and offer to groom him.
Across the dininghall Bereck looked up from his papers, squinted at the scene of 'girl with many firelizards' and sighed. Well, he'd probably been here long enough anyway. The healer capped his ink pot and coiled up the papers he'd been working on. The papers were tucked under his arm as he got to his feet and picked up his cane from where it lent against the table, while the ink pot was spirited away by another green.
"They're not bothering you are they?" Bereck called across the dininghall as he started towards the young woman and... how many of his firelizards? Five? "I'll make them leave if they're annoying you." As he spoke a crimson firelizard that had been sitting unobtrusively next to him fluttered across the room to land on his shoulders with a little chirp.

R'an hummed as he walked into the hall, looking for a late breakfast, his sketchbook in hand. He ad fallen asleep late the night before so he ended up over sleeping. Not that Syriacuth helped at all, only waking him when breakfast was over and everyone else was going about their duties.
He raised an eyebrow seeing the 1....2...3... Wow that was a lot of firelizards at one table. He took a seat only a table away and managed to get a drudge's attention to bring him some klah and possible what was left over of some bread and a few meats. Maybe he could hide out here for a bit. He just didn't feel the big need to be around people today. But his eyes strayed to the other table, recognizing Bereck and Vosin standing there, He wasn't overly familiar with them, but he knew their names. He just wasn't sure whose flits were whose. There were certainly a lot of them.
While waiting, he flipped open his sketchbook an started to draw, keeping his eye on the flits, maybe a few drawings would give him something to concentrate on.

This must be what it was like to have more than one, the rider mused. Although she only had the thoughts of one to deal with. Did they all belong to one person, or grouped up from several people? It was an interesting question. "Don't worry about it too much," she murmured to the green, who didn't seem to care as she stuffed the piece into her mouth. In a way it was kinda fun to feed all of them. They had to get food from somewhere if not their person or persons. Vosin wondered how much they cared for themselves and how much they got fed.
She continued to pass out small pieces to each flit in turn. As she was feeding them, she was watching to be sure they got along fine. Maybe they'd let her pet them for feeding them? It might make Vintage a bit jealous though. She'd have to lavish extra attention on him later for it.
Vintage returned with a flash of protectiveness over the woman and food. These were his! The blue and his fair was just visiting. As long as they respected that the brown wouldn't have an issue. The slightly tinted red eyes calmed as another blue made a polite gesture. Vintage chirruped and allowed himself to be groomed, then groomed the first blue in return. At least one had manors!
She turned as the sound of a cane came closer then a voice spoke up. Vosin had to grin. "Are they all yours then? No they aren't. They're amusing me actually." The woman sucked in her breath as a beautiful crimson landed on his shoulder. She didn't see many crimson flits. "She's pretty. Would she like a piece?" Vosin held out a piece to the man. While she'd have liked to feed the crimson herself, she didn't want to intrude on his personal space.
She noticed a late rider coming in and sit at a nearby table. At first she thought he kept looking at them before she realized it was the flits that had his attention. She wanted to laugh at all the little critters on her table. It was quite funny.

"All mine I'm afraid, yes," Bereck replied with a hint of a smile; they were all extremely useful but it couldn't be denied that he had rather a lot. "Thank you," he added with a nod, taking the piece of meat and passing it up to the crimson, who took it with a trill of thanks and ate it daintily.
Now that he was closer Bereck was able to identify the young woman; his brows rose slightly with interest. "Ah, you're Vosin aren't you? How is your Killakeeth looking?" He'd heard rumours that somebody had heard that somebody else who knew the gold thought she might rise soon. It was a long way down the grapevine of course, hence his asking the source.

"They are adorable. Where did you get them all?" She smiled at the crimson then Vos cast a fond glance as the fair. It pleased her to see the brown getting along with another firelizard. She didn't often see him mingle. "I'm glad they're getting along, though that might just be the food." Vos chuckled softly. She gave a wink as he identified her and her dragon. "Right you are! Remind me again of your name and who you ride? Seems it's escaped me right now." Sometimes names just completely escaped her! "Oh, she is looking very good. Thank you for asking."Vintage relaxed, but kept his eyes on the others.
