Shirohanna no MoriWhy he was by the pool, who knows. He couldn't swim, much less actually work up the nerve to step into the sparkling water. He crouched near the fence, as far away from the water as he could without leaving the vicinity. He knew why he was here. The reflective blue water reminded him of his home. The gentle breeze brought back the memories of rustling leaves and speckled light. Shiro sighed and closed his eyes. "Never should have come back." Prince Rheaus, smart as he was, was lost. Sure, it was embarrassing on its own, but when compounded by his crippling need for water at all times there was really something to see here in the way or pathos... A veritable Pieta of pity.
After a while the prince decided this whole walking routine had run dryer than Diplo's snare during the fifth bridge in Ultra. Seriously, that s**t was weak a played out, and Rheaus had had enough of both of them--taking in an assumption he listens to EDM to familiarize himself with this dimension's pop culture, of course--and had decided it was time for a dip. AHH YEEAAHHH!
The school pool was looking good, and Rheaus wasted no time flipping in and cooling off. Immediately he burst back through the yolk of doldrums and with the vitality of a K-pop fangirl turned that pool into a virtual tempest of currents and wakes; and at home he was. Still, that chlorine was wack.

He looked up from the wet concrete to see the smooth reflective surface of the pool had now become a churning mess. He leaped to his feet, and searched for the cause of the disturbance, moving to press his back against the fence in case another wave came any closer than the previous.

I'm alive!" in Zoran. Prince Rheaus floated there out in the middle of the pool for a moment, enjoy his own waves, even if the pool was a bit too small. He heard a voice faintly filtering through the sound and peeked over the edge of the pool to see strange male pressing himself against a fence.
"...Hello?" He didn't quite know what to think. He looked behind him to check: no one was there and so he assumed the man was anxious about Rheaus. Irony might be overplay a trope here today. "Is everything all right?"

'Aquaman?' was his first thought as he stared unintentionally, then shook his head to clear the thoughts of seafood. Now was not the time to be thinking about food.

He looked at the man curiously. He couldn't yet tell what people were, and he'd just gotten over the fact not everyone here--no one, really--knew what a zora was. "Why do you ask?" The tone of his voice was always a nice balm to counteract the burning his eyes held. One could tell quickly the prince was kind as he was stoic.

The prince's words were exhausted at his last conversation with someone who didn't like water--well, on that subject anyway--and so he wouldn't have much to say for himself. With redundancy, he could see in the man's face how he resented the idea. It was almost a front to Rheaus; how could anyone hate what brought him so much joy? "But I apologize regardless." If it hadn't saddened him so perhaps he would have taken offense, dare even; and an earlier form of the prince might've splashed the man with renewed vigor at the ridiculous statement, taking it sure as a joke if not, in it's absurdity, a challenge to prove the miracles of the life moist. But that didn't seem right now.
"I take it you attend the Academy as well?" Maybe this'll help.

"Well, it looks as though I'm late for class. You have an expression in this world: time flies?" He gathered up his emerald and a gently toweled off the excess moisture on him. "Farewell, Shirohanna." With that the prince rushed off to class, eager to learn the secrets of elemental magic.
