Terms
••••••••••
P0 Glitch noun
P0 Glitch happens when a fisher does not fully load into the room, and so their username reads to be in the P0 fishing spot.

P0/P6 Glitch noun
A well-known glitch that occasionally happens when a room has only one spot left and someone with a slower connection is loading into a room at the same time as someone with a faster connection. The person with the faster connection takes the empty spot (P6), leaving the person initially loading in to appear as P0, and renders them unable to fully load. If the person who has taken longer to load somehow loads in right as the faster connection player joins, these places may be switched.

Bot noun
A user who isn't using human interaction to play the game and is fishing autonomously. This is against the Gaian terms of service.

Dredging verb
A method of fishing where the fisher is trying to catch everything they hook in order to just fill up a bucket. Casual fishing falls into this category most often.

Filtering verb
An advanced fishing method in which a fisher intentionally lets go of unwanted items and therefore only catches items they want in their bucket. In order to filter a fisher must be aware of fish and junk patterns enough to be able to tell what the fish is before they catch it.

Junking verb
When a fisher is filtering their bucket to catch junk only, and not fish.

Large Game noun
This is a game where several fishers in the room compete to get the most large fish the fastest. A number is typically set before the game begins and whoever reaches that number of large fish first wins. As you catch the fish you state the number you have caught or points you have earned toward that game into the chat. There are several variations among fishers.

Pirate/s noun
Some of the greatest fisher/s in the game, who tend to like being at the top of all the rankings. They steal win all yo trophies, and aren't afraid of anything, (except for running out of rum before the end of the month). pirate

Powerfishing verb
Filling up a bucket as fast as possible while not caring what things make up the bucket.

Reserving verb
Refers to using a mule account to load in and hold a fishing spot in the game until someone is ready to join. This i usually done for a friend if the room is about to be full.

Speedfishing verb
Filling up a bucket as fast as possible while not caring what things make up the bucket.
