It's Regency era England. The upperclass women are gossiping away the party filled nights, the men are conversing over brandy and gin, and the children are whispering behind their mother's skirts. Various subjects are being talked and idled about, but none so much as the mysterious man taking residence in the oldest and most expensive estate in the whole of the country side. His presence is legendary, and his character is surrounded by rumors. None have managed to lay eyes on this almost myth of a man, until now.

Orphaned with the death of her father and estranged by her distant family, young Jane Knightly was taken in by a stranger. Perhaps for charity, perhaps he required a set of working hands. Either way, Jane eagerly accepted having no where else to go. The surrounding country families frenzied together to twist rumors and reasonings for the sudden gesture of kindness. The match caused quite a scandal, but in Regency Era England, most lived off of gossip.

The Adelgunde estate sits on a rather large sum of land that overlooks some of the most fertile area in England. With an expanse of beautifully maintained gardens that form intricate mazes, the public is welcome to tour through the grounds at their pleasing. The large pond is stocked with a variety of game fish, and fishing rods are available upon request. The large structure of the mansion itself is impeccably beautiful. Hand carved statues dot the perimeter, and numerous windows allow natural light and magnificent views.

As impressive as the outside appears, the seldom seen interior is breathtakingly beautiful. An array of rooms, all fully decorated with various pieces of expensive furniture, artwork, and artifacts, concoct an elaborate maze. There are several drawing rooms, each with a well constructed piano-forte and hearty fireplace. A large library is located in the east wing along with a variety of guest rooms. The west wing is the personal retreat for the master of the estate. A large study and master bedroom lie hidden within the west wing's corridors. Two large ballrooms sit awaiting parties and entertainment along with a large formal dinning hall. An expansive kitchen and interconnecting servant's quarters dot the estate in key locations. A large stable is stocked with the finest horses, and various animals such as goats and chickens dot the immediate area. All in all the Adelgunde estate is beyond any grandeur known in England today.

              「⟣PERSONALITY
Jane is an adventurous and challenging young woman who finds true comfort in that of a good book and the majesty of nature. Many in society contribute her stubbornness and unpleasing sense of curiosity to the affects of not being raised with a mother in the household. Her fiery spirit lies within a gentle heart, however, and she is often seen cherishing a wounded animal or donating the whole of her breakfast to a traveling passerby in need of food. Determined, courageous, and with a knack for getting in trouble, Jane Knightly represents the result of uncultured parenting to the eyes of many in society. But to the eyes of her deceased father, she is remarkably perfect in every way.
              「⟣BIOGRAPHY
Born to a reasonably well off couple in the country of Derbyshire, Jane Knightly quickly captured the hearts of the servants and family alike. Living in a family with access to a combined total of 9,000 pounds a year would undoubtedly spoil anyone without the right mindset. To counter this, her parents lived rather modestly. They had no expansive estate, simply a sprawling acreage. They had no hordes of servants waiting at their feet, just one maid and one footman to help around the house. Their most prized collection wasn't that of jewels or gold, but of books and artifacts. This kind of living confounded many of their neighbors who easily partook in lavish living.

When Jane was six years of age and developing quite a knack for getting in trouble, her mother caught a severe case of consumption. Her illness dragged on for weeks, the household was filled with the sound of her wheezing coughs rattling her small frame. Until one day the house was silent, so silent you could hear a pin drop. The young girl was taken to see her mother, one last bit before she died. Of course this saddened the young girl immensely. Her mother looked so frail and pale compared to her previously strong and healthy appearance. Jane was instructed by her mother to always follow her heart and be kind. Her last words to her daughter were, "Run mad as often as you choose, but do not faint." A sudden struggle for air resulted in Jane being rushed from the room as her mother finally gave up and passed.

Being raised from then on by her father molded Jane into the woman she is today. He was always interested in studying plants and nature and took Jane on trips with him as often as he could. She developed an overwhelming sense of curiosity as a result and was almost always found talking was through the surrounding countryside with a journal to document anything she found. Her father bought book upon book to entertain and enlighten his only child's mind and keep her from the selfishness of society. When she was finally old enough, her father introduced her into society at a rather large party. She, unlike the other girls her age, had little interest in marrying so young and simply focused on having a marvelous time. Dancing the night away, she returned home with sore feet and unknowingly at least three men's hearts. Each of the fellows sought courtship, but neither Jane nor her father allowed it. After that he became very protective of her and hardly let her step foot in well to do society since. Rumors arose as to her sudden aversion to parties, none of which were true.

Now as a brilliantly bright twenty year old, Jane once again felt the pain of losing a parent. Her dear father, studying overseas in order to document the plant life in Africa, was killed on his journey home. The ship that he was sailing on hit the middle of the storm and faulty construction led to the hull being almost ripped in half. The letter of his death arrived, along with what was recovered of his belongings. Grief stricken, Jane would not eat or get out of bed for days. Recovering just enough to pull herself out of bed, she was met by the arrival of her father's cousin. He was a young, selfish, and pompous man who had heard of Jane's loss and hurriedly came to collect what was his. Jane, being a woman, had no right to the land or household. Instead, everything that her family owned belonged to her distant cousin. With him he brought his snobbish sister and her equally as charming husband. They informed her quite clearly of their intentions to renovate and refurbish the entire estate, and none of their plans involved Jane. Closing their hearts and doors to her, she wrote desperately in search of help and shelter. As the deadline for her departure approached, she received many letters back informing her of their condolences and apologies for not being able to house her. Then she received a letter informing her that she would be able to take up lodging at a residence in the countryside surrounding London. She eagerly wrote back to accept, and hastily packed what she was allowed by her family to take.

Gender: Male

Role: Owner of Adelgunde Estates

Personality: Pros -

- Dependable
- Persistent
- Loyal
- Patient
- Generous

Cons -

- Stubborn
- Possessive
- Materialistic
- Self-indulging

Bio: It may seem weird that he looks like the American Indian, which is probably why he has not stepped outside that much because stereotypes of his race are as alive as the parties going on every night. His mother was a servant and the father the owner of the manor, and let's say that created him, boasting some scandals. All in all, the mother had to leave never to return with Mingan in the mansion, always asking questions where his mother was. Being so different from everyone, it created an identity crisis and since the ideal look was pale skin and blonde hair [he has dark skin and black hair], it forced him to stay inside the manor for fear of retaliation against God. So with his hiding, it caused rumors throughout England which made him nervous. So bringing in a stranger into the house is already risking his reputation and safety from the retaliation

Jane watched through the carriage window as the countryside passed. Rolling hills of green grass held the occasional forest, and even more rare a small cottage. She had been vacated from her childhood home just that morning, left with only a few of her dresses and what ever books she could fit in her traveling bag. Her distant cousin had raided through her closet, taking what she felt would be "too fashionable" for the countryside. They were a rotten bunch, those cousins of hers. They sought only what would please themselves, and did absolutely nothing kind in any sense of the word.Within the week of themselves bursting in, they had sold almost all of the original furniture and artifacts that dotted the house. They had little patience for Jane, often ridiculing her love of books and lack of a suitable partner.

She had been more than pleased to escape the small piece of hell she had suffered. Larger houses now frequently dotted the landscape and the young woman could tell she was almost to her destination. She once again unfolded the letter she had received in her gloved hands. She had opened and read it so many times to make sure it wasn't some sort of dream, she had memorized the words. She had absolutely no idea who this strange benefactor was, but at the moment she had little apprehension. She would have somewhere to call home, and whether that be as a working girl or just a suitable companion she had no complaints. Anywhere was better than the workhouses that she had seen on her travels. She would have undoubtedly ended up there, forever forced to give up on her aspirations and dreams to serve the high society in London.

The carriage jolted to a stop, snapping the woman out of her thoughts. Folding the letter and quickly tucking it away and stepped out of the carriage, holding her bonnet on as a rather strong gust of wind swept through the area. Her jaw nearly dropped at the sight of her new residence. Surely there must be a mistake, how was she to end up in such a grand place? As far as her eyes could see, gardens stretched in all directions. She could see a few early afternoon walks talking place, of which many people stopped to return her stare before whispering behind their hands. Jane was quite accustomed to being gossiped about, so this hardly phased her.

Miss. The an who had drove her to this immaculate place handed her her traveling bag and nodded his head. He drove the carriage away, the horses kicking up small clouds of dirt as the disappeared and left Jane alone. She cleared her throat, squared her shoulders, and raised her chin in the way she always did before she performed some reckless act. You can do this Jane, you will do this. She told herself under her breath as she marched towards the estate. Finally reaching the large doors that remained shut she raised her hand to the knocker and hesitated briefly before giving the door three large knocks. She looked down at herself, hoping that her appearance wouldn't be so unsatisfactory that the owner would turn her out. She didn't own any elegant dresses, only her day dresses that had been left to her. Her traveling jacket and bonnet weren't exactly high fashion either, and her bag was old and slightly tattered from use. Please God, let me not insult them. She breathed as she eagerly anticipated what was to come.

Mingan: Owner of Adelgunde Estates

OOC;;

Morning was coming through the hills, signifying a new day. It seemed like it was going to be a normal day along the country of England. It also gave another day for the man who owns the estate he lives in. The man with armpit length black hair. It was probably one of the very few things he decided to keep from his mother's culture; long hair and hunting. Of course, he hunts like an Englishman, not an Indian. It was part of his life right now. He woke up hearing the roosters caw, echoing throughout the area as he then wiped his eyes before standing up, He then picked up the bell and flicked his wrist so the tiny bell would chime from his hand. "Bring a servant here to help me get ready for hunting. Once I am out, prepare for breakfast."

He then got up and made sure the bed was made, a habit of his since as a kid...he used it as an excuse to slowly wake up when his....'father' took him out. The man then changed his clothes from night to hunting, so he could get ready. Going outside, he met his trusted house steward to come with him, they were preparing to go out hunting with his Cleveland Bay and some Bloodhounds to help get some deer and some hare. Once on his horse, he then had the horse trot away to which the bloodhounds followed, alongside the steward. They rode out to the forest, with the sun barely coming out. They stopped halfway so they wouldn't scare the deer, as they grabbed their rifles to go find some deer. As they walked along, his steward wanted to ask him something: "I heard there might be a....permanent visitor in the household now?"

Mingan did not look at the man, but he answered back: "You're right, there is a woman who will probably help around the household. You remember the Knightly family? Seems like the only survivor is a woman, and she's been kicked out." He then spotted a buck and very far off to the right, so he had the dogs go after the buck so he could shoot at it. "But sir, she is a stranger. It is a bit risky since you are well aware of being born out of a wedlock. Didn't you fear retaliation?" Mingan didn't answer as he watched the dogs chasing the buck, with that the boy then aimed his rifle at the deer and pulled the trigger. Once the buck fell to the ground, both men went down the hill to go get their prize. "I am aware. But we do need help around the house as some of the female servants went away to find other work. Gardens and Food need to be tended to you know." Once reaching the deer, he grabbed the dead body by the horns and got his knife from his pocket. He then slowly sliced off the head as he planned to get rid of the unnecessary things from the deer and only use the meat that was deemed edible. "Get me a bag Derick."

Once packing up all the meat, the hunting had continued. Throughout the cold morning, they had searched and searched, only to find a few hares and some birds that the bloodhounds chased so they would fly, and Mingan would shoot upward. With their hunting done, it was time to get back to the estates before the woman arrived. With the meat, they had to store it so it can be used for cooking. With the meat here, the servants grabbed the meat so they could bring it to the cooks to prepare. With the hunting done, he had to do chores and some work....money doesn't just appear out of nowhere after all. He actually had some role in the government business, which is the job his ol' father used to have until he....well...died in bed. So Mingan took over immediately, taking the name of his father; Connor Adelgunde. It probably helped since the rumor of wedlock working with the government would not have fared well.

So with him writing letters, his workers were getting breakfast ready for the woman to enjoy when she is here. Of course, he had planned for the the woman to have a private room; it was his mother's room. He did not want any involvement with that room anymore, and neither did the other servants. His mother left everything behind, so the culture she had lived in was inside that room. To him, it creeped him out so he always locked the door to that room. With only a glass of water, Mingan was continuing to write the letters when a knock emitted on the door. "What is it?" "Breakfast is ready.....and the woman has arrived."

Mingan contemplated on this a bit before nodding. "Have her sit at that table, I'll eat in here for now. Make sure the letter that is on that table given to her...it is her duties here while she is here. She is going to help with the garden and also help clean the manor a bit as well. If she is done, she can help out with kitchen duty as well." He then heard a yes sir from the other side of the door as he then continued writing letters.
    ________________________________________________________________

The maid met the new woman at the door, dressed a bit 'offish' as well. She was warned from the master that she had been kicked out of her home and many things were stolen from her 'family members'. "Jane...Knightly?" The maid then looked around to see if anyone else was around. "Come in." She then ushered the female inside as she then closed the door. "Breakfast has just been made, should be at the dining room through the hallway to the right. It will be the second door to the left." The other people were then readying the food to be ate at the table, and some of the bodies had to bring breakfast to the master since he cannot be seen by this woman.

Once the woman would enter the dining room, there will be food at one of the seats along with a letter. With formal writing, the letter would say:

    Dear Jane,
I am the owner of this estate. My name is Connor Adelgunde. This might be strange considering that the house is probably bigger than what you are used to. Although I would love to have you stay for spite, it cannot be free. I must ask that you help my servants with gardening and cleaning around the house. They might ask you to help them out with the kitchen as well, nothing that big.

I would wish to make my appearance to you, but for now I think it's best if we do not meet yet. I will have a servant later on give you a key and escort you to your quarters. it used to belong to a servant that came from the 13 colonies; an Indian. If you need anything removed from the room, tell someone and we'll get rid of it immediately. Otherwise work will start tomorrow, for now it will be best to explore the house and try to remember the place...it will help out when you work.

Jane had been distracted by a group of passerbys when the door to the manor was opened. They were elegantly dressed women who wore surprisingly restricting garments for walking, and they passed by with whispers and glances. The young woman had never understood how some females in society could manage strolling about outside in their fine clothes. Just spending an evening dancing in elegant wear was difficult enough, but talking a long walk in painful shoes and dresses made of silk would be quite hellish.

Hearing her name being called, Jane jumped slightly and turned to see a maid ushering her in. She stepped inside, untying her bonnet and moving a few stray hairs from her face. The inside of the estate was even more impressive than what she could have possibly imagined. It seemed that the whole of elegance and grandeur in London could not be at match to the furnishings of this building. Simply remarkable. Papa would have liked to view this place. Jane slowly made her way to the dining room, studying the rush of servants as she went.

She hadn't realized how hungry she was until she saw the array of food in front of her. Removing her jacket, Jane sat down and allowed herself to partake of a few various items. She felt rude, eating without having met her mysterious benefactor, but she couldn't possibly wait a moment longer. The travel from her old parsonage to this estate had been a surprisingly long one, and the food at home had been to rich for Jane to eat.

While the woman was quietly sipping on a drink of water, a servant came up and delivered to her a letter. She took it hesitatingly and unfolded it. "Dear Jane..." She read on, slightly shocked at the familiar use of her name. This Mr. Adelgunde did have a position of authority over her, so she supposed he wasn't really in the wrong.

Work? Yes, I suppose that is only the right thing to do. Jane mumbled quietly to herself as she read the letter once more. She enjoyed gardens, so her work wouldn't be taken with any feeling of negativity. It gave her an excuse to study the abundance of plants she had glimpsed earlier, and that gave Jane a remarkable thrill.

She folded the letter and slipped it into her traveling bag before removing herself from the table. If Mr. Adelgunde thought it best for her to explore her workplace, then explore she would. Jane had an almost dangerous curiosity about her, and with a household as large as this, adventure was pulling at her from all over. Retrieving her small array of items, the woman slowly made her way through the expanse of corridors and sprawling rooms. She was continually met with rather odd stares from servants, most likely bewildered to see a strange woman waltzing through the house.

Making her way outside, Jane strolled down the commonly used paths. It wasn't an odd thing in England for people to stroll through estate gardens, even if they weren't acquainted with the owner. Because of this common courtesy, the young woman was frequently stopped in order to provide the respectful curtsey when approached by someone. She was beginning to feel rather annoyed at the frequent interruption to her stroll and so diverted off the main walkway and into the less commonly traversed paths. Here the flowers grew more wildly, and Jane couldn't help but collect a few to take with her. After all, the room she was staying in might need some cheering up. Mr. Adelgunde wrote something about an American Indian's quarters. Jane herself knew little of the culture, only that her Papa had studied it extensively for some time. Perhaps it would be full of artifacts, like how her old home had once been. Regardless, she would feel entirely grateful no matter the appearance of the room. She would prove to this Mr. Adelgunde that she could earn the right to stay here.

As he was eating his breakfast, he had another knock on the door from the servant, telling him that the girl had ate and is now touring the place she was to work out. Even went as far as to mention that she was strolling around the gardens. With that Mingan stood up and stared through the window, where it was tinted so that he could look down at the garden while everyone was strolling around the place. "Is she now? She seems to enjoy the gardens." It wasn't until the girl had wander far off from the gardens did he raise a brow. He then went to the door again. "Seems like the lady ventured off the path, have one of the garden workers make sure she doesn't cause trouble." He then heard an ay ay before the individual left.

Mingan sighed a bit as he then went back to writing letters, it took him until the late of afternoon to where he opened the door again and had another servant go off to travel near town to deliver the letters as he then decided to wander around. He also disguises himself as a 'servant' in case people had arrived. Only the 'real' workers knew of his identity, everyone outside of that would assumed Mingan was part of them. So with that he left with very basic shirt and pants on as he went to his library where he would often study and read for awhile. Some of his books were delivered by an 'unknown' Uncle who was in one of the English territories in India, where some of the spices and writings the man puts down on ink had to go through months upon months of traveling, as he cannot get out of there anytime soon. He then brought out some books as well as journals and decided to write on them, with his servant watching over the 'new girl', he just needs to worry about his work, then maybe he'll go outside [as servant] and check on the animals he owns.

Miss Knightly? Jane turned to see a rather tired looking servant calling her name. Caught up in her own amusements, she never stopped to think that she could be causing someone else a good deal of trouble. Removing herself from a rather beautiful patch of daisies, she ventured over to the servant with an apologetic smile on her face. Please do forgive me. I become rather self indulgent around flowers. Jane revealed her rather large and freshly picked bouquet of various flowers. I'll be more considerate. The woman gave the servant one or two flowers before gliding away, a small smile on her face. She used to bewilder her maid at home with her knack for trouble and her ease of forgiveness. There hardly ever was a time when Jane was punished, she was just simply to bright of a soul.

Continuing her walk, having returned to the more commonly used paths, the woman wound her way about the grounds until she heard the familiar clucking of chickens. She followed the sound and came upon a small assortment of very fine animals. Back at the parsonage where she had grown up, they had such an abundance of chickens and ducks that they ended up giving away a large assortment of them. Finding herself closer to the stables, Jane allowed herself a visit to see just what sort of magnificent horses Mr. Adelgunde fancied himself.

Upon entering, she was not disappointed. Strong and beautiful horses lined the stable, each with obvious fine breeding. The woman strolled through, studying the animals themselves and the men that attended to them. One horse in particular caught her eye, a mare with a hearty young colt. They were lovely horses, seeming to be American Paint horses. Jane found it rather odd that Mr.Adelgunde should be in possession of such a breed, but admired his taste. She used to own a Shire horse, a stallion, and would go riding often. The memories of her morning ventures filled her with a touch of sadness, and so she turned her attention back to the mare and colt in front of her. The mother was gentle and seemed to enjoy the attention by Jane, the colt was a little trickier, but made the woman laugh once or twice. He had a funny habit of walking near her and then quickly jumping away, like he was playing. Oh, you're a funny little fellow you are. You must giver your mother a good amount of grief. Jane joked quietly with a small laugh.

With his work done, Mingan stood up and decided to check on the animals. Going through the backdoor of the house, he had on his hand the key to his mother's room as he got out to see the chickens and goats, he needed to make sure they were all ok as their health was also his and the servant's health. With his 'servant' clothes on, he then could hear neighing coming from the stables. A bit concerned, he went on over to the stables to see the girl he had just allowed in his house looking at them. Seems like the little colt wanted to play with someone. Mingan almost wanted to say something but then walked on over and then whistled to get the colt's attention.

The colt ran on over, with the mother watching them as Mingan had his hand out with the colt's cold nose against it. "You're still energetic." He then turned his body 360 degrees with the colt still following him, with the nose still against his hand. He was training the colt to listen to him and control his speed so if he got old enough to ride, he wouldn't be a danger to the rider. "Good..." He then got out some berries and fed it to the Colt, which had the mother come over, curious if she could have some. "Alright alright, you too." He then got an Apple and gave it to the mother so she could eat as well. "That's should be it until evening." He then eyed Jane as he then picked up the key from his pocket and gave it to her. "Master wanted me to give you this key, he's still working right now."

He did not want to say that he WAS the master of this place, but it was best since no one will believe that an Indian owns this whole thing after all. So as a servant, he could listen to the people outside and have an excuse to go out without any trouble.

Jane jumped when a sharp whistle pierced through the air. The colt's head shot up and before the woman knew it, he was racing off behind her. The woman turned to follow the suddenly eager horse and spotted a rather sturdy servant calling to it. He was different then the others, his appearance dark instead of the light skinned and fair haired assortment of other staff. The colt seemed to know him well, however, and this led her to believe that this man was in charge of raising most of the animals.

When her baby was fed a delicious treat of berries, the mother left Jane's side and trotted over to the man. Horses seemed to be led by food, and the mare's eagerness for a treat made the woman laugh softly. The servant looked at her, and Jane looked away quickly. He had a piercing gaze and something about it made her feel uneasy. He walked towards her and held out a key, explaining that Mr. Adelgunde was still remarkably busy.

My, he must be quite the busy man. Jane commented lightheartedly and took the key into her hand. Would she ever meet the gentleman she was indebted to? Perhaps it was best, she wasn't the most elegant woman. More than likely she would offend this mysterious Mr. Adelgunde like she had so many others in high circles of society. She studied the ethnic man in front of her, curious of his story, but much to polite to ask. Would you mind me asking, what is he like? Mr. Adelgunde? Jane looked down at the key in her hands. I imagine he is kind, to lend a stranger a place to stay. But I would like to hear it from someone who works for him. Working men and women always seem to be better at judging character.

Mingan nodded, going through with his lie that he was a servant. She then asked on how Adelgunde was, even assuming he might be kind as he lend a stranger a place to say. Mingan eyed one of the men who was actually Mingan's childhood friend. That friend was Connor and he seemed to chuckle slightly as Mingan was to tell about how he is. Mingan glared at Connor, who was brushing some of the horse's hair. "Well...." He had to cough a bit as he then rubbed his neck. "He is a widower...he had a wife until she died. She did give birth to a kid before dying but the kid never made it either. So...I guess that's why he seems more than willing to have strangers come here to stay. His work involves the government in some way..... Otherwise he is not normally seen, he prefers to keep to himself...but sometimes I see him looking over the garden, probably the only pride and joy his wife left behind." Of course it was a lie, and it made Connor have to hide his head and laugh. Mingan was planning what kind of punishment he would have. The owner then sighed. "He does like to hunt first thing in the morning, a pass-time he has always done."

Then some noises could be heard, which was a carriage which was easily recognizable. Mingan glared at the carriage as he knew the neighbor. That neighbor has harrassed Mingan for a long time, for...well...being an Indian of course. It was no surprise to hear him make racial slurs toward him, Connor also stared at the carriage, as he knew this neighbor. This neighbor had been around for as long as both of them have lived. The carriage seemed to stop at the path which had Connor go over to see what was going on, Mingan followed as well. "Seems like our 'favorite' is back again huh?" He didn't know if the woman was going to follow, but if she was, he'll have to be quiet about his 'master' pretending to be a servant.

The man inside the carriage was the 'ideal' English-man; Blonde hair, Blue eyes, and had a nice slender, yet masculine appearance. The man went through a lot of women, so he had some commitment issues no doubt. "Good Afternoon Gentlemen." Mingan and Connor glared back but they kept their inner-feeling inside. Connor did the talking. "Afternoon to you, where are you going on this fine day?" His words hissed a little, but he made sure it was not obvious. The man inside the carriage did not seem phased by this. "Just going to check my fine brewing company, sometimes I need to check on it, and make sure that it is in working order." "More like making sure people are sick and in bad condition." Mingan mumbled which grabbed the man's attention. "Did you say something Bushn*gger?" He emphasized that word as Connor snapped. "Watch that tongue Aldwin. Master is not fond of your 'behavior' of calling names to his servants." Mingan then glared back and then gave him a sign holding two fingers, it meant get rid of that guy. 'I also have to mention that the Master does not accept the invitation to your party. Your parties are usually...'boorish' according to some people."

"Boorish! Boorish is it? He never has left the house since that 'servant' left. Is it true that he hides in that house because of the shame he put onto himself for seeing that Squaw?" Connor flicked his hand, showing irritation and the urge to punch him. "Go tend to your stupid brewery Adwin, far as I heard....it's sales have gone down no?" Connor stabbed the man with the last word, as Adwin frowned and ordered his man to immediately go off. Connor and Mingan just stare at the carriage as it slowly becomes smaller and smaller off the distance. Connor just shook his head: "That damned man, calls himself religious when he goes through women like a dog goes through its bones." He then pat Mingan on the shoulder before then going to turn back. "Sorry for that miss, that neighbor is nothing but a skanky individual." He then saw the woman had a key. "I'm...Connor by the way. I usually tend to the animals around here. Anyway boy, why don't you led her to the room now?" Another pat on Mingan's shoulders, and now the 'owner' was imaging a bunch of tortures for this man. "V-Very well.....if you follow me." He then left to go led her to the room that belonged to his Mom.

Inside the house, it was downstairs where surprisingly sunlight hits inside very well, along some hair and the view of the gardens 'ground view'. Once the door was opened, it was filled with brown blankets with different symbols, wall decoration that was called 'Dreamcatchers', and some masks that made Mingan shiver. "Master mentioned if you want some of these items removed, we'll get them out as soon as possible."

Jane listened with interest as the servant described the tragic background to her benefactor. Surviving the death of a wife and child, and so kind to me. He must be very charitable. Understanding the pain of losing loved ones, the woman couldn't help but feel a small sympathetic connection to this mysterious man. Grief is a funny thing that way, it connects those who feel it most strongly. The gardens? I'll do my best not to mess it up then. Jane commented lightly, but with an inner sincerity. The absolute last thing that she wished to do was ruin the pride and joy of Mr. Adelgunde's deceased spouse. Oh, a hunter? Well I suppose any accomplished man enjoys the hunt.

Jane raised an eyebrow at the sudden change in mood. A carriage had passed into view and it seemed to be the source of the negative atmosphere that had transcended. The native servant followed after another stablehand in pursuit of the guest, and Jane being the insufferable curiosity seeker she was followed along. The guest in the carriage seemed to be straight from a society column addressing amiable bachelors. Jane stayed back, sensing a deep rooted resentment on both parts and wished no involvement.

When the stranger proceeded to use a rather insulting term to address the servant from earlier, Jane instantly decided she despised the man. To use such a vulgar word, let alone in front of a lady, was disgraceful. Yet, she kept quiet. This wasn't her fight, even as much as she wished to let loose her current thoughts. She was glad to see this Adwin leave the area, and followed the carriage with her eyes until it was off in the distance.

Connor introduced himself, and Jane replied with a small curtsy. Pleasure to meet you Connor, I admire your wit. The woman nodded a departure before following the native to what was to be her room. When they had arrived, Jane looked about the room with a adventurous wonder. She enjoyed studying other cultures, and appreciated the artifacts. Oh no, I couldn't cause such trouble. I love it, I really do. Jane set her belongings down and removed her gloves before going to study a dreamcatcher. It was marvelous work. Intricate looping of thread created a net so as to catch bad dreams.

Oh! I'm sorry I don't believe I've properly introduced myself. Jane turned around to face the servant, a small look of embarrassment on her face. Jane Knightly, I hope we can get along nicely. The woman curtseyed and offered a small smile. If she was to work along with the staff, she would really appreciate getting along nicely with all of them. Besides, she was along and any familiar faces would be appreciated.

He was shocked that this woman....out of everything...never once found this stuff to be...so....so strange! He had to bite his tongue though because he had to pretend he didn't care. "Your name had spread like the dandelion puffs floating in the wind. Master had told us of you before you even arrived. I'm....Mingan....it means Grey Wolf in....well...." He had to lie since he had NO idea what it meant, it was just something his mother wished for him to be named before she disappeared. "Navajo?" His pitch was somewhat high, really blowing the cover at this point. But that was not the one thing that might blew his cover at that point.

"Master? Master?" One of the female maids was calling out which made Mingan beg to God that she did not find him, as he cannot risk his reputation like this. But God had a sense of humor that day. "Master?" The female servant peeked through the door, trying to not be scared of the strange objects in the room. "The cook would like to ask-" Mingan twitched his eyes at the female, a little peeved at this point....but he can't say anything since she too...was new...only a week has the lady been here. "Master is in his room...." He then had to curl his lips in fear for what words would spur out of his tongue. Another servant came in and had to drag the confused lady out, apologizing to Mingan since she was 'new' and gets 'confused' sometimes. That might help keep his cover from being blown out of proportion. "Besides that weird encounter, he wants to ask if you mind having rabbit stew for tonight? He caught some hares and rabbits this morning."

What a fierce name, surely it matches the owner? Jane teased. Mingan seemed to be nervous, and having a bit of fun was the girl's way of lightening the mood. But his uneasiness puzzled her. Was this conversation unproper? They weren't in few of a chaperone, so perhaps it was the situation. Jane, who should have been more concerned for her reputation than she was, chose to ignore the circumstances. She trusted that Mingan wouldn't doing anything brash.

Hearing a female approaching, Jane turned to open her bag and start to unpack. She wasn't being called, and since Mr. Adelgunde was no where to be found, the maid would most likely pass by. That's why when the maid entered the room, Jane was surprised. She watched the encounter from the corner of her eye, pretending to continue to unpack. Mingan's sudden hostility set Jane uneasy, and a puzzle was slowly starting to form in her mind. Curiouser and curiouser. She eyed her new acquaintance, studying him for some sort of an answer. Yes, rabbit sounds wonderful. Will he be joining? Or will I be dining alone tonight? Jane replied, hiding her suspicions.
