The words did sort of just come to him…like a song…like a lullaby from some place deep within his soul. Whisler’s eyes closed and he let the words flow up from his soul and right out of his mouth. “I pledge my life and loyalty to Polaris, and to Whisler. I humbly request your aid, so that in return I may give you mine.”
He wasn’t even really aware that anything had happened, but suddenly…suddenly it was very, very cold. Whisler opened his eyes…and all he saw was white. Snow…everywhere. So much snow…but…at the same time…it was terribly comforting. “Oh…This…This is Whisler, isn’t it, Snowball?” His voice was soft and he wasn’t quite sure what to do or what to think…and before he realized what was going on, there were tears running down his face. What…what the hell. Here he was…crying in front of a cat in some world full of snow and cold and...and he wasn’t quite sure why this was even happening right now.
“It’s…it’s beautiful…This is what I’m uh…What I’m named after?” Or something…he wasn’t quite sure…but whatever it was…this place…he wanted to come back here…and often…and bring dates here and…
And maybe bring some hot chocolate here…because this place needed it…it was so cold, especially after the heat of Destiny city…it was a culture shock, but it wasn’t an unwelcome one.

Snowball sighed as they landed sucking in the cold air and purring. "Sweeet, sweet relief from the heat, oh how I've missed the." While he didn't really remember anything about Polaris' homeworld he knew he once lived here, with Polaris.
"Ahhh, yes this is Whisler, you're wonder, so in a way yes you are named after it. A wonder based on Polaris. You're little slice of paradise to protect. In theory you can actually reach Polaris' main hub. There's probably some form of transportation around here that could in theory get you there but it's been inactive for so long we'd probably have to walk if we wanted to go there." He answered as he hopped down in to the snow and sank a little before nestling into the powdery white snow for a few moments.
"It's so pretty isn't it?" He was looking around to see what types of shelter there were here.

“It is beautiful…it honestly might be the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen…you say that I’m...that I’m the one who protects this place? Well, that really sucks if I’m supposed to protect it and I only just now found it and…”
The knight swallowed hard and rubbed at his eyes, trying to erase all traces of the tears that had just been there. “So I have to find…find my ring you say? Uh…where would it be? Do you know? I there a ring store around here that I should stop at?”
That would be terribly convenient…but honestly…he couldn’t see any buildings…and the wind was picking up, bringing with it quite a heavy snowfall. “I don’t know if we can stay here for very long…what if I can’t find the ring, Snow? What then?”

Snowball nodded as the Knight spoke, "Well, it happens that sometimes no one goes to their wonder or home world until it's needed. Sometimes they're too afraid of the past."
His tail flickered as he looked around, "Yup you gotta find it." He paused tilting his head as he asked about a ring store. He started laughing, "Ah, no I don't think it'd be in a ring store. Because typically it was used in the past to send letters and important information as well."
He looked around as the snow was falling heavy. "What does your starseed tell you?" He asked looking up at Whisler, 'Usually you or your ancestors have been here before. Surely there's a hint." He hoped a few times in the snow looking around as to which way he'd pick. It'd be easier with some sort of lights snowball was thinking to himself.

Whisler sighed. Well. Of course it wasn’t going to be as easy as just going t a ring store and getting the object. He was going to have to work for it…going to have to…
The knight paused, glancing over to an area that had what appeared to be a waist high pile of snow…but all of the snow around the area was no more than ankle deep so why…
He walked over to the object and began digging through the snow, not even really understanding why he was doing such a seemingly stupid thing…but sure enough after he was done brushing some of the snow away, there was a small box sitting on a rock. Almost as though it was planted there. Waiting for him.
“Well I’ll be damned…” the blonde murmured, opening the small chest and seeing a ring, sitting proudly on a light purple cushion. “Hey…Snowball…I’m pretty sure I found it…I mean. It’s a ring and uh…it has my uh. Gold symbols on it so…Plus it’s here. I’m pretty sure it really might be mine.”
Even if it wasn’t…he wanted to put it on.
So he did. Naturally, it was a perfect fit. Just as it should be.
“Huh…”

Snowball started laughing as the knight was digging under a snowbank and then suddenly there was a ring. "Well either you are one lucky knight or your past self figured you might take a while to find it if he hid it good."
Snowball had somehow pulled out some paper - likely from his space pocket because it was purple as well as a pen that was purple in color, thankfully the ink was black, "We'll find out if it works!" He said as nudged the paper closer to the knight.
"If you don't mind. My paws aren't made for writing." He wiggled the toes on his front paw at the knight, "Just write.
Niflhel,
Hi, I'm Whisler, Polaris Knight. Snowball found me, I'm going to help make sure him and Merlin stay out of trouble.
Then Sign it and let me put my paw print on it."
The cat had also pulled out an ink stamp pad. That was purple glitter. "Sorry.... I keep important supplies sometimes because I'm use to be being around a knight that can't always keep supplies on him.
Anyways once I put my paw print on it you can put your ring into the ink pad and just fold the letter over and stamp it shut. If it's your ring it'll POOF to Niflhel."
There was serious nod.

Whisler laughed. “Well, maybe my uh…past self just realized that I’m pretty bad at finding small boxes buried in the snow…so they hid it somewhere easy or something. Either way, I’m not complaining. Not one bit, in fact.”
He took the paper, just a little curious of where it might have come from, but not wanting to ask that badly. Guardian cats just…did things, no big deal. For real. “So, just write the message, let you paw it and…put the ring in the ink…interesting.
He wrote the message, as instructed and held the paper out so Snowball could put his mark…of course he did add his own touch afterwards, including a line that said ‘I’ll give them back, unless I decide I like them too much. =p’
Of course, there was no real reason for the cat to know that, so before Snoball could read his added line, he folded the paper and placed his ink dipped ring against it. “Ta-da. Look at that. My uh. My letter disappeared. Like it was supposed. Poof to Niflhel. Bam.”

Snowball grinned and shook his head. "Usually there's buildings somewhere but oh well, I'm sure you could figure that out later." His tail flickered as he looked around, when the letter was sent Snowball grinned and hopped up to Whisler's shoulder looking around. "Good."
"Hm... I'm surprised we see no evidence of any sort of building." His ears twitched back as he looked around turning around. Considering he was 25 lbs of cat, he was able to balance himself to keep from feeling too heavy. "I wonder why. . . ."

Whisler reached up, trying to find Snowball’s ears, really wanting to give them a nice little rub. “So…how do I get out of here? It’s really…cold…like it seemed nice at first, but I’m not even sure I want to explore this place right now. I’m ready to just be back in the nice heat of Destiny City, you know?”
His teeth started to chatter a little bit and he laughed. “So…if we are going to stay here…we will have to build an igloo or something…”
But honestly…staying here wasn’t in his plans…so he really did hope there was a way to just…get back home…it seemed like staying here too long would lead to nothing more than loneliness and frostbite…neither of which he wanted. And after all, they had found the ring, that was what they were trying to do.
Mission accomplished.

Snowball purred as the knight rubbed his ears. "Huh? Oh so soon?" The cat seemed a little disappointed, but it was okay at least they got the knight his ring. He nodded and shrugged softly, "Well, you just think about home. Like you thought about this place. . . . well more like you think about earth. This is technically your knight's home, the alter ego. . . ya'know."
Snowball had been reading too many comics, "Think of your powered self as Superman and your Human form as Clark Kent. You'll be able to figure out how to get home, no problem." He grinned he had faith in the knight.
"Also you're going to have to get use to this~ ya'know. I don't think Polaris gets any warmer unless you're lucky and run into something crazy. Ya'know like those hot spring places that are big tourist attractions."
He nestled down, "Though really, I think also some of the buildings when you actually find them maybe better insulated? I -- haven't had a chance to come back to Polaris with -- Well Polaris but I'm more than sure the buildings are fairly insulated, they may just need some desperate repair." He finally just laid down on the knights shoulders and acted like a cat scarf.

Whisler did, thinking about the wonderful warmth that was the apartment they had left just a short while ago. He was very pleased to see that Snowball had indeed made the return trip with him, and without pausing to thing, he allowed his powered self to fade, so that Snowball was sitting atop plain old Nick.
“Well that was an interesting experience, Snowy. Thanks for that…now…do I have to stay here and keep looking after you and Merlin for a while, or should I head on home? I’m fine with either, to be honest, so it’s up to you what I do from here on out…honestly I wouldn’t mind a nap, so if I could crash here, that would be pretty swell…”
His voice trailed off and he looked rather longingly at the couch. Traveling to a wonder was hard work, yes it was. Especially when it was so cold up there.

Snowball stopped and chuckled as Whisler powered down and nodded, "You're welcome, now that you can use the ring it'll be a lot more useful." He paused when the knight asked about staying there and Snowball shrugged, "I'm sure you're more than welcome. I've no objections. Better here than outside in the dark trying to go home without being powered up."
He looked at Merlin who didn't seem to have an issue with it either. Snowball smiled as he nodded, "And Polaris and Niflhel surely won't mind either, after all you're one of her knights!"

“Sweet.” Nick made his way over to the couch and flopped back on it, kicking his shoes onto the floor and sighing happily as he sank into the soft cushions.
This was nap time all right.
He’d totally earned it. And yeah, why should they mind? He was one of her knights after all.
When he fell asleep, it was a happy smile playing across his face.
