  "Oh, my God, I care so little I almost passed out." A deep sigh escaped the tall males lips as he rubbed his fingers against the temple on the right side of his head. Oh great, new interns were coming to the hospital and Mark was obviously going to have to baby sit one of them, him being the head surgeon. Grabbing his clip board off the table he leaned over the counter looking over at the secretary. Her name was Alice Norris, she was a pretty little blonde, small frame and just a bit younger then Mark himself. "What is that amazing aroma coming off you? New perfume, whats it called?" He asked very sarcastically with a flirtatious grin on.
Obviously he didn't actually have a thing for Alice, Mark just always loved to bother her and she always played along. "It's called the twelve hour shift Mark." She joked with a smirk. This only made a small charming chuckle run passed the mans lips. He tapped the counter and shook his head with a smile that showed off all his pearly white teeth. "You are the worst kind of vixen Alice." He commented, she smiled and nodded. Mark took his clip board and walked away from the desk, he walked over to the other doctors who were waiting for their new followers. Glancing at his watch he held the board next to his side.

xxxxxxx It wasn't Anastasia's intent to be late on her first day of her internship. In fact, a series of events had unfolded that morning that had kept her from being her punctual self. First, she had spilled coffee on her favourite white blouse and had to search throughout her closet to find a new one. Then her cat had decided his new spot to relax would be her photo-copier, and millions of pictures of random cat body parts flew around her apartment. Next, her car just couldn't start, so she had to get a taxi to the hospital. After that, of course, the driver got lost on the way. She didn't understand that part. How many hospitals could there really be in the city? Honestly. And unfortunately, not only were they lost, but they couldn't get out because they were stuck in traffic, prompting Anastasia to simply throw a twenty dollar bill at the driver and run the rest of the way to work. This series of unfortunate events explained why she arrived approximately nine minutes and forty five seconds later than required, panting and flushed.
Out of calm; Do you think this character's okay? Like, does she look too young? 'Cause I can try to find a new picture, it's just that all of my current characters are like 16-24. Anastasia is wearing...

"Oh, my God, I care so little I almost passed out." After waiting for quite some time Mark was getting annoyed, all the other doctors already had their med students, why the heck was his? Letting out a groan he glanced back down at his watch, shaking his head the man prepared himself to leave to his next patient until he say and fair skinned blonde female hunched over. She seemed to be out of breath, but she was wearing light blue intern scrubs, perfect, this was his wasn't it? Walking up to the blonde cleared his throat. Reaching his hand down he snapped his fingers near the female to grab her attention.
Once she looked up Mark grinned widely at her, he waved jokingly and pointed at his name tag. "You're late kid." He mentioned. Holding up his clip board he looked her over with his light grey blue eyes. The man licked the base of his lips and shook his head. "Common, follow because I'm not waiting for you." He explained before walking off down the hallway in his usual fast pace. Mark swerved past each doctor and intern walking down the hall, making his way down the hall towards his patients room. "Doctor Stalone, how is your morning?" Another Doctor with dark black hair and bright green eyes commented with a sarcastic tone to his voice. Mark didn't even look at the man. "Good until you spoke to me." The other man just smiled, he looked down at the female intern following Mark and winked at her before heading off. Walking into the room for his patient Mark smiled widely at the elder woman.

xxxxxxx"I'm really sorry," the blonde said a bit breathlessly, but then she followed him without another word. While she was significantly shorter than the male, she had relatively long legs and didn't have to put forth much effort in keeping up with his pace. However, swerving between each doctor and intern they passed? That was not to easy. She didn't understand how he did it so well, but hell would freeze over before she gave in. She barely recognized the exchange between the two doctors, but nodded when he winked in her direction.
xxxxxxxAnastasia was quite relieved when they finally arrived at his next patient's room, a friendly-looking elderly woman. She didn't appear to be too intimidating, but she didn't want to jinx anything, so she mentally kept her fingers crossed.

"Oh, my God, I care so little I almost passed out." Making his way over to the elder woman Mark stood next to her hospital bed smiling kindly at her, his charming looks made the elder woman smile back and look him over very slowly. "How are you today Ms. Jones?" He asked in his deep gravely voice. The lady fixed her hands in her lap and leaned back against the bed, sitting herself up a little. "Wonderful now that I get to see you Doctor. How is your fine self today?" She asked, the woman sounded a bit nasally. She had a bandana around her head, her wink pale and sunken in, she had no hair. Letting out a soft charming chuckle Mark held out his hand placing it over the woman's hand, she then cupped her other hand over his. How adorable she was. "Just peachy darling. And you look as beautiful as ever Ms. Jones." He winked at her, his pearly white teeth peeking through his smile.
This made the elder woman giggle and wave her hand at him. "Oh stop Dr. Salone." She replied covering her pink lips with her long slender fingers. Mark chuckled again, he slowly removed his hand from the woman and took a small step back, reaching his hand over he placed it over the blonde females lower back pulling her closer to his patient, just so that she was close enough for an introduction. "This Ms. Jones is one of our new interns, she will be working with me for a year until she can became a doctor herself." He mentioned removing his hand from the females back and sliding it into his long white coat pocket. "Oh, how wonderful, what might your name be sweetie?" Ms. Jones asked kindly with her tiny smile.

xxxxxxxAnastasia was quite intent in just quietly observing from the doorway. She couldn't help but smile while witnessing the doctor's interactions with the woman. Unfortunately, the moment was ruined when she too was involved in the conversation. She wasn't entirely comfortable with him touching her just yet, but then he was putting his hands in his pockets. By the time she had formed a coherent thought, she didn't really care that much anyway.
xxxxxxxThe blonde-haired young adult looked down at the older woman. "My name is Anastasia. It's very nice to meet you, Ms. Jones." She considered shaking her hand, but wasn't sure if that would be okay so she just tucked a lock of curly hair behind her ear and smiled.

"Oh, my God, I care so little I almost passed out." Looking down at the female Mark rolled his eyes slightly when she mentioned her name, "gosh, not your first name newbie", he thought to himself. Before Ms. Jones could answer Mark looked over at the woman and smiled. He flipped open his clipboard and glanced down at it before returning his attention towards the elder woman. "This is Dr. Melrose." Ms. Jones smiled and nodded, she looked over at the female and waved kindly. "Alright Ms. Jones. Good news, we are able to discharge you from the hospital for now, you can go home and see your family, have a nice time and try to catch up." He explained. This made the tiny woman light up with joy, she looked more then happy to be hearing that she can finally go home to see her loved ones and sleep in her own bed. "Dear that is wonderful!" She yelped clasping her hands together. Smiling slightly Mark glanced back down at the clipboard before bringing his attention back on the woman.
"Some bad news, you will have to come back in two weeks to continue your kemo therapy." Mark explained. This made the woman's smile soften just slightly. "Yes of course doctor. Thank you so much Dr. Salone, thank you. You are a wonderful doctor." She complemented as she placed her shaky hand on his arm squeezing it gently. The made a smile return to Mark's face as he too reached out his hand softly placing it on the females arm. "You are very lucky young lady, Dr. Stalone is the best doctor in this hospital. Not to mention he is a complete stud as well. Ms. Jones smiled and winked at the intern. Chuckling Mark shook his head and smiled widely at Ms. Jones. "Alright thats enough, get your things packed and head home Ms. Jones and we will see you in two weeks. Take it easy sweetheart."
Leaning over the woman hugged her small frail arms around her doctor and he softly placed his hand on her back hugging her back for a moment before releasing and stepping back. Waving her a goodbye Mark hurried out of the room shutting his clipboard. Once the tall male had entered the hall his smile vanished instantly, slowing his pace he walked next to his new intern and glanced around as they walked down the hall. "You always introduce yourself with your last name, always with doctor. It makes you sound like you know what the heck you are doing. You should always make everything seem like its positive, smile, show small signs of affection. Touch your patients hand, hug them, complement them, it makes them feel at home and helps them to trust you and open up more. Lucky you, your first encounter with a real patient was a positive one." He finished looking over at her, he once he had finished speaking. "Questions?" He asked then looking ahead as he walked in front of her.

xxxxxxxAnastasia realized a second too late that she should have introduced herself as Doctor, but it just didn't feel right. She wasn't here as a doctor, was she? She wasn't actually operating on anyone. This would be something she had to work on. She turned her attention back to the elderly woman as she touched her arm. Stud? Uhm, okay. Sure. Why not? Although, to be particularly honest, he was a little old for her. But she supposed that wouldn't have meant anything to a much older woman.
xxxxxxxOnce they were outside, she raised an eyebrow at his sudden change in mood. The blonde was not a big fan of the way he spoke to her. "But I don't 'know what the heck I'm doing' exactly," she pointed out. Why give them any false notions? She sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "I'll do better next time," she mumbled, almost as if it hurt her to say the words.

"Oh, my God, I care so little I almost passed out." Hearing her comment made the older man stop dead in his tracks, he turned towards the blonde and looked down at her. "You never let the patient know that you don't know what you are doing.. You tell them there is either not enough information to know for sure or that you are still looking into it until you find out exactly what is going on.. Never let them know you are confused because that worries them, always make things seem fine until you are sure they are not." He commented. Looking over he let out a sigh, he held the board close to his side sliding the other hand into his coat pocket. "You got a lot to learn newbie." Turning back around Mark made his way down the hall until his name was shouted by one of the nurses. "Dr. Stalone! We need you on this patient stat!" The female shouted as she rolled in a made who looked as pale as ever laying on a cot, his side was torn open showing some of his ribcage, he was gasping for breath with a mask covering his face.
Turning quickly to the blonde intern Mark nodded his head towards the patient that was being rolled into one of the emergency rooms. "Lucky you kid, you got some good action on your first hour. Lets go." He commented before running off down the hall and into the emergency room behind the nurses. Walking over to the side of the cot as the nurses lifted the man and rested him against the hospital bed Mark stood next to him. The man seemed scared, his eyes wide and his arms scattering around looking for something to hold on to. Looking over at his intern Mark pointed at the IV needle laying on the clean tool set. "Hey, cherry, get an IV in this man, quick." He smoke loudly, his facial expression focused as he looked down at the man holding his shoulders down for a moment.
"Sir, please try to calm down, we are going to help you. You will be fine." He mentioned. Letting the man go Mark pulled off his mask and grabbed a large white towel and pressing it against the mans side, he pulled on a mask over the mans face and clicked the button on the gas. "Hurry up kid, we don't have all day for that IV!" He spoke loudly but seemed calm. Keeping his hand pressed against the mans side Mark held down his arm and looked down into the frightened mans eyes. "Please sir, try to calm down."
