Students may come here in their free time to practice spells. Not on each other, of course!

Breanna and Mulu were walking in sync nearly the whole way. There was just something that courage and confidence did for her which really turned her into a burning ball of win; a veritable star in a hydrogen-dense... Wait a second.

In any case she was better. It was every step she took. Steps all the way to training ground to give its namesake a good test. Only a few quick glances were giving to Asmodeus as she followed to make sure she was (a) in her human form still and (b) whether she was serious about training her. Sure, courage, great, but a lifetime's worth of socially acceptable social anxiety--the fashionable variety--was the stuff of much paranoia irrelevant in the face of certain terror mechanisms; as it showed in the new brand of fearless in Bree it was in every "strong" female character the media thinks they can... A digression.

Bree finally came to a stop somewhere between the gate and the center--vague I know--of the training field. Mulu was forgoing the obligatory slow turn and nod to practice an arguably more demanding anime pre-training trope. Yes, I speak of course of the limber-up. Somewhere up above a crow had flown. Breanna thought of Kira; and all that went with that was quickly metabolised into a sort of determined glycogen which she knew was the fuel of any training session not with her mind but with her--third eye? It was the way she made it in her head, all these years of inferiority struggles and confusing acceptance and friendship with accomplishment and accolades; so with that how could she stand to be someone's friend if she couldn't compete with them? How could she be so ready now as she grabbed her spell book.

"Thanks again for doing this... I'm ready to start whenever." With a beginner's book? Ha!

Oh? ... is that so?
---Counselor---
------------------<><><><><><><><><>------------------
Folly followed behind almost happily skipping and swaying her arms. Putting on her normally seen act of small bubbly human girl.

Arriving outside, and looking up to Bree, smiling sweetly, her hand in a ball in front of her. Swaying slightly side to side. "I'm glad to hear that... but... you won't be needing that hehe." She giggled gesturing at the book.

"What were going to start with today is enough to write a book on of itself... a few notable names already have. I'm going to be focusing mostly on the way I first learned, which is from the manuscripts of Al Azif and a dabble from the Munich Manual Grimoire.
" She said almost too enthusiastically.

While saying this, she was slightly swaying a bit more, and her gaze was looking around the area, seeing who all was around or what.

"Ugh..." Bree tossed the book aside. The silent Mulu gave an awkward glance at the sorceress in training. "I really prefer books, but if this is how you people pass down most of your information... I'll have to do it this way. Can I at least take notes? So I don't forget." Probably a no-go, but Bree would have to hold on to her structured school programming as long as possible.

"By the way, what will I need?"

Smiling some, "If you feel a need to, you may. Today will be rather brief, we don't want to jump too fast into this." She said nicely.

Stretching her arms out her fingers interlocked. Upon finishing her stretch, her eyes were razor sharp again, and her fangs manifested once more. A slight aura coming from her.

"Simply your soul and some will power~" She said somewhat seductively.

"Oh... I see." That whole idea of just doing things to learn them still didn't sit right with her, but Bree was far from giving up just because of petty issues like a minor addiction to the sound a pen makes during note-taking. She nodded to Mulu and got ready. It was a little awkward, like she never fit in in gym class.

"Right! What's first?" Really, she had nothing to do but try. She was confident in Mulu now, and in herself; what with all she did before their latest bonding. She could feel it, strength pulsing through her. "... I think I can handle it," she said tentatively. "Whatever happens... I think I'm stronger now, so I can definitely handle this lesson!" After all that, though, she was still the shy little girl who played with ghosts in the sandbox.

Asmodeus Folly
Very well~
---Councelor---
------------------<><><><><><><><><>------------------
Folly's whole demeanor changing in almost a split second, her eyes crimson red, her wings manifesting outstretched, her smile menacing with her fangs showing, her back arched.

A large red circular diagram appeared rapidly below her feet. In it, Arabic and Greek writing could be seen, along with other symbols and seals and things of that sort.

Looking to Bree, and outstretching her hand rapidly, "Mattering what it is you want to do, depends on what, or rather, Who~ you call on... for example!" Then throwing her hand downwards, and calling out in a flat normal tone, "Ganzir, kipini ack."

A quickly raising barrier shot up and around Folly, almost like a dome, from the edge of her seal beneath her.

"This is among the most simple of barriers, I'm having to try harder to make it visible this easily." She exclaimed, before lowering her arms and her seal, the barrier, depleted, and her wings went a bit limp and hanging softly behind her.

"Here's what you'll do, first... look into yourself, and using your familiar, channel through them a small basic aura, you will want to call upon Ganzir's gate's to open, and seal a small segment of your soul to them, in order to access their strengths... I'll be here, don't worry, if you get close to giving too much, or they attempt to take more than needed, I'll simply lock your soul as my own... you'll be damned as my servant, but you won't be enslaved to Ganzir... or you may need to sacrifice your familiar's in your stead to escape...when you're ready hun." She stated flatly, and precisely. Taking a few steps closer to Bree, being now only about three feet away. Watching intently.

"... Right." Even to a noob like Breanna this felt like a trap. On one hand you had an esoteric and perhaps made up identity ready to engulf her and enslave her soul, which mind you connotes a worse fate than any enslavement of the body, and on the other you had someone you just met waiting to scoop up your soul in case things just didn't work out; and they could have very well been the same person, or that matter was so trivial compared to the aforementioned similar fates' conditions.

"And what happens then?" Bree was less afraid of the trial, but it seemed like her courage had directed itself toward the counselor herself earlier; perhaps in accordance with the fear of her person in general, and so was skeptical in what a normal human student might know as a healthy amount. "I didn't exactly come to school to become a slave; Emerson says only the educated are free." Emerson now?? Wow, with all that timidness gone there was actually something of a debater under all that; cultivated in a thick membrane of cram sessions and protected by a shell of awkwardness. In any case, whether or not you are dazzled by this display, Breanna would do nothing of what was asked of her until she had answers. Suppose there's little accounting for her faith in magic.

Tilting her head slightly, giving almost a stink eye of Bree.

"You act as though I can't read you and your subconscious like that book over there~ ... he hehe hahaha We are all slaves to something or another!~ It's all based on who you choose to pledge your service to." She exclaimed wickedly.

"Simply feel it in yourself, the same way you feel power through your familiar, ... you will know, you will feel them coursing through you once you open your soul to them... this is somewhat easier without a soul however~" She stated, placing a hand over her own chest in self pride.

"Choices and ultimatums are two different things," Said Bree firing back. This was the one time captain of the debate team, after all! "... But I suppose you should have been able to see that one coming too, huh?" Confidence indeed! Old Bree couldn't have gone this far with an opponent no matter how right she was; and invariably her rightness was subjective in this situation because, as it was arguable by semantics the issue at hand, proprietorship of the soul/consciousness, was one of the more chillingly subjectively subjects a human could wrestle with; and therefore made this conversation less of an argument between two and more of a discourse in Breanna's head. Alas a thought occurred to her.

"You know what? Fine. We'll go through with it. Kira told me Black Magic is heavily dependent on the user's own selfish feelings; I'm going to make it through this unscathed just so I won't have to serve you any more than as it suits me. Heh, Mulu..." She looked over to the Tiger and he nodded, knowing just where she was going with this. "We have a similar relationship: the mutual servitude you could call friendship; so I figure all I have to do is ask Mulu to get me through this ok, and once its done I'll only owe the person who already owes me. Debt paid."

Breanna reached out a hand and Mulu responded the same way. Their fingertips on their index fingers touched and an arc of sorts was created between them. She looked over to check and Mulu simply gave her his trademarked "it's ok, newb" look.

"Are you watching this? Here we go! Ganzir's Gate: OPEN! Help me show this psychotic counselor what's up!" She might regret that, but hey, is there really a time to be cocky?

---Councelor---
------------------<><><><><><><><><>------------------
Folly looked on at Bree with an evil smirk. Seeing if she would go through with it or back down.

"Wait.... Stop!"

Her demeanor quickly changed as Bree actually summoned for the link. Quickly stepping up to Bree with a now worried face, and taking her hand with her own. Holding very tightly, manifesting a seal beneath both their feet. "Break the link now! You don't want this, not like this!" She said very sternly.

Of course Breanna had no real grasp or gauge on the elasticity of her soul; and with that came the type of, if you will, blind faith exhibited here. She did feel a bit funny, though, through the first stages; like the way a worm might feel at the end of a hook. That was about as aware as Bree was of what was on the other side, or what was supposed to be meant by the curious series of tingles ruffling her spine.

"Wait, what? I thought you wanted--" She stopped herself upon seeing Asmodeus' face held an urgency that couldn't be faked. "... Right. Ok, uh... LINK BREAK! ... Um..." She wouldn't be able to tell if that did it, but she still felt a little funny.

....!!! Don't!
---Councelor---
------------------<><><><><><><><><>------------------
Folly had a quick sweat drop go down and let out a breath seeing Bree try to break the link she had opened. Getting a serious face, Folly's eyes went Crimson red, and she brought her right arm back getting ready for a swing.

Looking at Bree, giving kind of a 'I'm sorry face' and she said "Sorry!"

Her fingers going like a wedge, Folly swung around her arm straight towards Bree's solarplex, and just an inch from making contact a force was emitted from her hand at Bree. Knocking Bree just a few feet and out of the emblem on the ground. However, the emblem wasn't that of Folly's, it had become black and was something else.

Folly looked down and quickly said something under her breath, and her wings flexing, an almost red ghostly looking arua emitted from Folly and into the ground, as the seal disappeared.

Folly dropped to a knee then got back up, brushing her dress off and walking over to Bree. Her wings and fangs disappearing once again. But ehr face almost angry. "You finally gained some courage like I'd hoped! But you should know better than to actually make a link with a soul hungry entity! Are you ok!?" She stated reaching her hand for Bree to help.

What the heck! Bree had time to wonder, marvel, but not react at/to the apparent energy attack. With the forced exhalation went some of Breanna's vision, as if she was blowing out the candles on some global cake.

... This was not her birthday. A reeling, falling girl in the middle of a field with a tiger rushing to her side and an aftermath of general sublimation of relief into scolding: a veritable subterfuge bomb; it hardly seemed festive... Well, depending on which country you're in. They were on the fringes now, those crows which had been content simply watching Bree from outside her field of vision; and now the bastards had flown in to remind her how helpless she was. They might as well have been buzzards. I suppose that's a little maudlin though. The Crow was a symbol the comprehension of life's many dualities, just like the Vulture, but also one of great wisdom and mental acuity; mocking Breanna with their presence not with Death's taunt but by rubbing in salty screen of shortcomings to the booksmart girl.

"What... Mulu..." She babbled incoherently for a while after impact until some time after Asmodeus approached her.

"AYE! ... Oh..." She realised it then with a wilting hand which hand been so strongly poking holes in the counselor's logic earlier. "I'm sorry. I still don't know anything. I thought I could just go for it. That's what everyone I've practiced with has said so far..." Whether or not that blame could stick or not was up to Karma. Bree gave up a defeated but carefree smile to Asmodeus to show she really didn't know what the hell she was doing.

mmm... ah
---Councelor---
------------------<><><><><><><><><>------------------
Folly gave a slight grin and slouch of her shoulders as Bree replied.

Keeping her eyes closed, and putting on a slight smile, getting next to Bree and leaning over to her. "You are right and you are wrong, very wrong... you don't know anything, but that courage and will to prove me wrong you just showed there is what I wanted to see out of you~ I had to put out some rather drastic and honestly, I'm sorry for that, but dangerous variables to draw it out of you, but you did good. With this, thats something you should never try to do, but pulling my punk card so to speak, that was good. I'm sorry too." She explained softly, putting a hand on Bree's shoulder softly. "There's things you can just go into, and things you can't, and you need to decide whether that thing your friend wants you to do, is worth just diving into. As you saw just now. You trusted me bout as far as I could reach, but there is more trust in friends, how much do you trust your friend, now knowing how carefree they were being, with something so important." She stated solemnly, patting Bree's shoulder two quick little pats.

"Sorry again... are you hungry? We can continue this whole thing properly if you would like, but under proper and controlled environments and with better instructors than myself~" She asked sweetly.
