Good news and bad news everyone!
The good news is that staff has stated they want to run a kickstarter for us and took our item and title suggestions. It's still in the planning stages so don't take anything as concrete for these are tentative tier rewards: -Unlock Forum (Most excited to hit this one!) -% of money to use towards the event -Unlock NPC/admin/staff/etc (whichever is available at the time) -Animal/human item for the event (Maybe)
The bad (?) news is that staff has asked us to try to postpone the event by two weeks, putting us at July 25th-August 2nd. The site has some of their own plans for the coming weeks and they it'd be best for us if our goldsink and event didn't overlap with theirs, as it would obviously not take priority. On the upside, this gives everyone a little more time to prepare and it gives us a much greater chance of having a successfully funded goldsink event, and by extension we're more likely to get our own forum, staff/NPC involvement, and potentially even an item.
Please let me know your thoughts on this, and if there will be scheduling conflicts with anyone who is running a panel/contest/workshop/etc.

I'll be at GenCon that week, so I definitely won't be available. sad
Kickstarter would be awesome, though!
I've pretty much got my panels set up - if needed, someone else could run them.

I've pretty much got my panels set up - if needed, someone else could run them. Noooo! That was one of my fears and part of why we picked the date that we did. This puts us in the middle of the busiest two convention weekends of the year, Otakon being the other really prominent con that we would run during. Will you be gone both weekends? For all the work you did, it'd be terrible if you didn't get to show up for at least some of the fun.

For all the work you did, it'd be terrible if you didn't get to show up for at least some of the fun. I'll be gone the 29th through the 2nd, and I'm working my friend's booth at the convention, so I'll be a bit on the busy side. I'm not sure about internet access, either...I'll have to check on the policy of the hotel we're staying at and see how expensive it is. Since I'm only doing one big contest per panel, it's probably not a big deal for me to not be online all of the time. I'm just bummed that I'll be missing out on joining in other people's panels!
Totally worth it if we can get a kickstarter, though. If nothing else, having our event advertised up in the header will be a huge boost.

I think I should be okay around that time since I don't have anything major going on. In a way it's good because we're still working on our panel for the D. Additionally, it gives me more time to discuss with my Flash Space crew about the details for the rave.
However, it would suck if some of the others missed out. Dang, they need a gift or something for all their hard work! I'm willing to pitch in...even if it's my half decent art.

I am the embodiment of fear and evil I'd be okay with pushing it back because I'd like a little more time to try and gather the tickets needed for the prizes. If I can't get enough for three sets of each color, I'd like to at least get a 'male' and a 'female' set as prizes which I should have enough to cover right now. I'd need 228k tickets and I have 42k right now. sweatdrop What I wouldn't give to hit another three halo pay in Slots. xDof the House of Demonic Dreams

This is good for me since I could definitely use that time for preparations.
I do feel bad for those who won't be able to make it though. sad

I'm A-OK with that, much more favorable even, since NPCon's initial schedule would clash with my midterms schedule.
...wait they approved it. ... ... ...oh no I better make my posts prettier. OAO

I will be gone from the 31st - 2nd at least, and possibly the 30th too. I'm also going to a con xD GeekyCon! The hotel we're staying at has free wifi though, so I can take my laptop and pop in to check on things in the evenings. Honestly that would be how I'd do things anyway since I'd be checking in after work.
The way I'm planning the game in my panel requires me to check in on it, but I'm writing up a bunch of responses for it ahead of time so it shouldn't be that much of a problem. I'll just leave a note in my thread about where I'm at and to please be patient for replies. No biggie!
I'd love to see us get a kickstarter though, that would be fantastic!

I am also ok with this. I want to propose setting up a kickstarted guide thread before the event, so we can control the reactions to the kickstarter. The Ammual Userball did not do this for their event, and they got a lot of user push-back. Many users compalined that they should just "donate to the ball directly," and not give into gaia's gold sink. The D-Party, however, made our guide thread and got to control the reactions a little better. It helped us to explain why we wanted the kickstarter and why we supported the gold sink. I think it made the public response considerably better. We had users of our guild sign up to be "greeters" in order to help explain our event to people who stopped by. It just worked very well to control the reactions people had.

I'd be happy to help out with making a guide and greeting folks once we find out what information to include. Some of it we can write up now, but there's parts we can't plug in until we get more solid details about the kickstarter.
