It was still early in the night, just after children were put to sleep, and in a secluded part of town near a park, a certain dark mirror senshi was just starting her nightly routine. The reason for the way she was hidden off in a corner for this particular night was because Ubasti wanted to test out her draining abilities. They weren’t something she used often and it was best if she used them on someone who could run for miles before actually coming across another living soul. She’d found a group of homeless just beginning to linger in this forgotten part of town but had yet to find one suitable to drain.
Then again, what did she know about how to pick her victims? Ubasti narrowed her eyes at the three men below; trying to decide what was the best course of action. The senshi moved to the next rooftop trying to make as little noise as she possibly could. She was an outright feeling like a predator tonight; this was certainly going to be the best position if one of them decided to separate from the group. All she needed now was to be patient. Ubasti settled down and waited.

Mintaka's explorations of the mirrorspace had been...brief. But she was getting the hang of the place and the lay of the land. It basically gave her anything she wanted in physical misty form, and offered a safe haven when she just wanted to...think.
And while she was there, she bonded to one of the wraiths, one of the creatures that Canopus showed her when she was still on the order side. Though she didn't quite feel the need to drain so often, it was becoming something she felt was okay to do. Her usual victims were the night crawlers. Men and women who preyed during the night on the unwilling.
She never took for those who couldn't defend themselves after.
As she stepped through the mirror hidden on one of the many parks, she felt the small ping of silvery smooth chaos. A dark mirror basic.
She kept to the shadows, as her white hair stood out most of the time until she saw her. A pretty thing stalking her prey. Or what looked like it. She waited for the girl to notice her aura and break concentration from whatever task she was about. Mintaka didn't want to really intrude, but she didn't think the best course was to take from those who had no where else to go.

Pixie Nyxie Sorry took so long, went to like 2 festivals + Canada day Eyes narrowed as finally, one of the three men decided to get up and start walking away, Ubasti moved. He was stumbling and mumbling to himself, she figured he was drunk which was good for her. Granted he wouldn’t prove much of a challenge to her, all she had to do was make sure that he didn’t make a noise before she could get to him. Though, the other two could also be drunk and she’d be able to knock them out before they even knew what was happening to them. Still, Ubasti didn’t want to over extend herself over three drunks.
Before she could get into position though, something pulled her away and Ubasti turned. She’d felt another aura, one very much like her own but definitely much more powerful. With one last glance towards the man who was now relieving himself behind a few pushes, Ubasti decided to abandon the prey out of curiosity. Slowly, she moved towards the aura wondering who it might be. It was definitely another dark mirror and that made Ubasti smiled. She always liked meeting dark mirror; she had so few friends within it. Once she was much closer, Ubasti spotted the light hair in the shadows.
“Hi.” Ubasti gave a little wave.

Mintaka waited as the basic came closer and she had a good look at her! She had never met the basic senshi, but that didn't mean she wasn't interested.
"Hello little one." She smiled, folding her hands down. ""I hate to interrupt you in your gathering, but I was curious to meet you?" She smiled gently, "Do you often come to the park?" She asked.

It was strange meeting an eternal, the first she was meeting in fact if Ubasti recalled correctly. This would be a brilliant moment to ask her a few questions shed wanted answered for a while now! Ubasti smiled and approached the other senshi closer.
“I try to,” she said. “Collecting energy is our duty right?” That’s as much as she knew really on what it was they did. Ubasti extended her hand towards the girl. “I’m Ubasti, senshi of aridity.” She wasn’t sure if there was some other way of meeting eternal senshi, it would probably be one of her many, many questions she had for her. “Do you come out often? I think you’re the first eternal I meet.”

"It is!" Mintaka breathed in, "I suppose though, we have not really been clear in the path for the dark mirrors. We try to different ourselves from the negaverse in the amount and way we collect it!" She hummed a little.
"Aridity?" What an interesting sphere. "My name is Mintaka, of origami." She smiled a little sheepishly.
"Really?" She hesitated, as there wasn't many eternals she knew either. Damocles and Chariklo..."I'm actually not surprised, I've met a handful of Dark mirrors. I'm really glad I found you!" She folded her hands politely.
"Do you have any questions? Is there any way I can help make this easier?"

Ubasti nodded, she liked that they were different than the negaverse. They weren’t exactly on her good side recently. She’d seen origami before; maybe she’d ask the girl to show her what her powers looked like later on. It was good to know that she wasn’t the only one, were they some kind of dying senshi breed? She’d have to ask that too. So much to ask, Ubasti had completely forgotten about her energy gathering. She motioned to the edge of the building so they could take a seat and talk there. Would have been nice to meet elsewhere, but one had to make do with that they had.
“I have so many questions,” she said softly. “I’ve been winging a lot of this stuff. I haven’t been taught how to properly drain someone. And where do we come from? Why are we different then senshi? And I know were not sort of with the negaverse, but are we allowed to kill them if they do something bad?” Ubatsi paused there, she had more to add but she wanted to give Mintaka the time to think and answer before Ubasti spewed even more questions at the girl.

Mintaka was completely endeared by the girl already, and patiently waited until her ramble of questions were done. She had asked the very same things of Remarque and Lestath (Raven) until she felt she understood the court as well as any normal eternal in it.
"Winging it is very admirable. Also still hard." Mintaka chuckled a little before finding a bench and taking a seat, patting the one next to her. There was a lot to go over.
"Draining is not something we actually do but our Wraiths. Those are located in our mirrors, I believe you might carry one around?" She paused, "Wraiths are also very shy, and hard to control starting out. But if you help them, they help you. The energy goes back into the Mirrorspace, which is our...technically home! Keeps it flowing and alive."
"As to where we come from, Remarque told me that we were allowed existence because of a princess named Ares. But that's all I know. Originally I was a white moon senshi who was flipped into a Dark mirror!" She crossed her leg, perhaps Mirrorspace would have more information of where they originated from.
"We are different because we are built with Chaos instead of order. We have no access to our planets, we do not serve the white moon queen-" She hissed that word, "As for the negaverse..." She hesitated.
"Personally, I would not kill them." She smiled sadly, "My...lover is part of them. And they aren't always wrong in the way they do things. Just as order isn't wrong. Its...who you personally get acquainted with, I like to think." She sighed, "Remarque, the prince and vice captain of the dark mirrors say that we could still be allies with them. Or we could not. Our best interest in our own court. We take care of each other."

Indeed, it had been quite hard and confusing. Ubasti made her way over to where Mintaka had taken her seat and settled down next to the girl. She had never actually sat down and had a serious talk with a dark mirror before; this was bound to get interesting.
“That I do, I’ve tried using my Wraith before. It’s kinda tricky.” She had to find a target first, and then make sure they couldn’t fight back before the wraith went close to them. Ubasti figured the helping them out part she was already doing so it hadn’t been so bad. She wondered what would happen if no more energy was put into the Mirrorspace. “If we stopped gathering energy, does that mean we’d… die?” Ubasti wasn’t always out collecting energy, but she was giving the task a second thought. Maybe she ought to put in more time just to make sure everything was running smoothly in there.
“You were white moon? How did that happened?” Ubasti had never heard of such a thing, but then again she was realizing that there were a lot of things she wasn’t aware of. If senshi could be brought over to their side she wanted to know how to do it. Built with Chaos Mintaka had said… “Aren’t Negaverse also built from Chaos?” Ubasti wasn’t exactly warm to the idea that she could even remotely be related to the negaverse in any way. Just the thought of that repulsed her; they were nothing like the negaverse.
“The one’s I’ve met haven’t been all too kind.” She mumbled a bit childishly. Though her words did give her an idea. “Do you know someone called Painite?” Ubasti wanted to speak to this Remarque and she would at some point see to it that she did. For now though, the idea was on the back burner.

"We'd lose the opportunity to be a senshi, but I don't think we'd die." She looked at Ubasti, "We draw our power from Mirrorspace. Not our lives." She reached over to her fuku. "We would probably go to being normal again. There would be no war for us."
But she thought about Mirrorspace. "I don't want it to die though, I think Mirrorspace is more important then what....we draw our power from." is she looked harder, maybe she could find the meaning of their existence here? If she looked harder...perhaps she could find more then a empty throne and shifting furniture.
"yeah, they aren't bad. The negaverse." She looked at Ubasti, "They have their mission and it's important. They are about as bad as us, I suppose." She relaxed in her seat and contemplated a better answer, but found none really.
"Yeah. I've seen Painite." That was a negaverser she was not fond of at all. But the general was all too fond of hurting anyone she could.

Become normal… Ubasti didn’t know if she liked the thought of becoming “normal” again. She liked being Ubasti and she was learning so much about all this that she didn’t think she could ever go back. Still… Not being at war would be nice too. Ubasti mulled the idea over and discarded it. No, she liked this family much better than the one back home which meant she would do anything to keep it from harm’s way.
“Well, I don’t really like the idea of being normal again. So I don’t want it to die either.” Maybe she ought to spend more time in there. The only time she’d actually spent time there for more than simple traveling was when she’d first awakened. “I haven’t spent a lot of time in there, does it ever lead somewhere? Perhaps one day lead to our planet or something?” That was probably the one thing Ubasti wanted to know more about, her planet. “I actually wish I had more information about my planet.” She sighed softly, without access to her planet there was just no way.
“I’m not too sure what to think of them, but they’ve been getting on my bad side more than my good side lately.” Ubasti grumbled quietly, though she did turn towards Mintaka when she spoke about Painite. Mintaka hadn’t elaborated, was it worst than she thought?
“What can you tell me about her?”

"We can't visit planets..." Mintaka reached over to pat Ubasti's hand, "It's the loss we get when we join or awaken in the dark mirrors." She looked away. "You aren't missing much. Planets are nothing more then foliage."
She never felt attached to hers, thankfully.
"She's the stab first, talk last type. Not fond of senshi in general. I don't think she's fond of anyone...really." She cocked her head. "It's a shame really. She's powerful, someone who would be a good ally, if you got in her good side." But not many did.

The idea that Ubasti was named after a whole planet, one that was her very own, was still intriguing. It would have been nice to be able to just check it out even for a little bit. Ubasti adored the Dark Mirror Court and wouldn’t give up anything for it, but the idea of a planet tugged her mind. Maybe someone could take her, or even knew what her planet looked like. She wasn’t really sure how space traveling worked yet, but she decided to keep it in mind for later on. Any option was a good one at this point.
“Doesn’t sound like the kind of ally I’d want.” She murmured quietly while glancing out across the sky. Another project she’d put on the burner for now.
“Well, while you’re here you could teach me how to properly drain!” Mintaka was much more powerful which meant she had to know the best way on how to go about these things. “I promise I won’t take up much more of your time after that.” She laughed; Mintaka had to be a busy person. Ubasti didn’t want her to feel like she was babysitting her or anything, she’d try and make this as quick and painless as possible for the older senshi.

"No, She isn't. But she has good use, if you'd make use of them. It's a game sometimes." She looked at Ubasti, "You're playing a game of war, and its better to make use of the enemies of your enemy."
She stopped and then nodded.
"Follow me then. We will find you someone proper." She gently took off into the streets, then to the darkened alleys. It was quiet, but she could hear the two men talking in hushed voices. She held up her hand to stop the other senshi, and then brought her closer.
"You get these a lot." She waved her hand at the men that were just out of their sight. "Drug dealers, thieves. Those are good targets." She looked at Ubasti, "We aren't good, but we aren't bad. These are the targets i choose. Homeless do nothing but these people.." She smiled, "They do far worse then we ever will."

Hm. Ubasti contemplated Mintaka’s words. They rang true, this was a war. But a game? She wasn’t so sure, if it was a game it was a deadly and vicious one. Maybe she ought to read u on the art of war, she was sure the enemy of my enemy is my friend came straight out of the book. It was also strategy 101. AS for using the Negaverse to meet her ends… She’d have to think on it, they weren’t much use to her right now was they were or she didn’t really know what to do with them.
For now, Ubasti forgot the subject and followed Mintaka. Now it was time to focus and learn from a pro how to do this properly. She stopped behind Mintaka when the other girl motioned for her to stop and listened. Two men from the sounds of it.
“Right.” Ubasti nodded, she couldn’t believe she’d never thought of going after such kind of people before. Homeless had always been her go to for energy, but like Mintaka said. These people were bad, downright evil. She was technically doing everyone good by going after such targets, these would be her new targets from now on.
