Rider
Name: Eliza
Age: 36
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual
Rank:Wingrider
History:
Eliza dosen't know who her parents are and to honest she dosen't find anything wrong with that, most of the kids she grew up with didn't know either right? It just meant she belonged to the Weyr which in her eyes was far better then having only a single 'family'. A curious child Eliza was often found in places that she shouldn't be - listening at doors, hanging around the fringes of older riders and their conversations, or pestering adults with questions that they honestly didn't think she ought to know about. As a result she was often set to tasks most of the other children considered punishment or unpleasant, not that she minded really. It seemed like a small price to pay to satisfy whatever curiosity had recently gripped her. Eliza simply learned to get her chores done as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Her favorite times were when the odd trader would come to the Weyr - there were generally at least one around who was willing to tell a story or two and the stories they told and the places they had been were simply the height of greatness in Eliza's mind. Privately she dreamed of impressing a dragon so that she might fly wherever on Pern she desired to go at a whim...or failing that becoming a runner so that she might see more of Pern that way.
Of course impressing turned out to be more difficult then she had thought, like most Weyrbrats she started standing as soon as she was old enough, but dozens of eggs and several hatchings later she still had no dragon to show for her efforts. Well she still had time to rectify that..a couple more years at least and then if things didn't go the way she hoped? Well then she'd just have to move on to her back up plan. At least as she grew she no longer had to sneak about to listen to the stories, tales and remarks of the others in the Weyr. The older riders and their aging dragons soon became her favorites - inevitably they would be full of the most recent rumors, argumentative statements and stories about the good ole days that they were eager to share at the drop of a hat if one would sit and visit with them for a while which Eliza was always willing to do.
Impressing to Velath was a long time coming but well worth the wait, Eliza simply couldn't imagine a dragon better suited to her if she tried. However the life they saw before them was quickly altered with the start of the Wherwars. Along with her friends Eliza and Velath were highly involved in all of the fighting and by some manner of luck rather then skill they managed to get through most of it with only a few scars. Her friends were not so lucky and watching them change and suffer throughout everything had a large effect on the pair, somewhere along the line...they grew up.
Although they still enjoy a good bit of gossip the pair is not nearly as outgoing and chattery as they were before, rather they tend to be the ones who listen and sooth, always willing to lend a hand wherever it is needed. The changes to the Weyr hierarchy were something that the pair saw coming and though they were thankful that it happened with far less violence then the Wherwars they were none the less disappointed with the way some of it was handled and as such tend to try and avoid most of it, they have no desire to lead and are happy simply flying threadfalls like they were meant to.
Description:
Eliza is a fairly average looking women, she's nether a great beauty nor ugly enough to be memorable, for the most part she's almost a bit forgettable really, tanned skin, brown eyes, medium brown hair, average height and an athletic build.
She doesn't seem too concerned about her lack of beauty however and doesn't try to dress herself up to seem less plain, she is typically found wearing good solid work sound clothing and keeps her hair in an easy to manage pony tail as she goes about her day. There are far more important things to do then waste your time making yourself look pretty after all.
Personality:
Eliza has what one might call.. a loose tongue, oh she doesn't mean to be a gossip really but once she finds out something interesting, juicy or scandalous she just can't help talking to someone about it. The odds of her keeping a secret for any length of time wouldn't be very good ones. She wants to know what everyone else thinks about said secret and to be truthful she rather enjoys being the person 'in the know', the one who heard it first. It makes her feel important and is perhaps her way of standing out when her looks so obviously don't.
She's a friendly person and tends to adhere to the 'you get more flies with honey then vinegar' type of thinking. While she might come across as a bit soft and naive , she truly believes that most things are better solved with words then fists. Eliza lacks the inner confidence required to be a leader and this leaves her a bit more open to manipulation by the others, who could likely talk her into things with only minimal effort, she's fairly gullible when it comes right down to it and would be easily steered into trouble if she's been led to believe that its the right thing to do with a few clever words. She has a good heart underneth it all and dosen't always understand when someone get angry about the way she spilled a secret..she was just trying to help really, even if that help was a bit misguided.
Perhaps due to her love of information Eliza has an excellent memory, she rarely forgets anything she's told and it is quite good at organizing both information and items on a whim. She's a precise person and a bit of a perfectionist , everything in its place and a place for everything would be a good motto for Eliza, it just makes sense really to keep everything where it should be, think of the time that coul be saved if no one ever had to run about all willy nilly looking or something?
Eliza thinks she's funny..but to be honest most of her jokes are a bit lame, thankfully she normally just shrugs off others lack of reaction - or if she thinks it due to a misunderstanding might spend the next few minutes trying to explain why the joke really is funny...I mean you get it right? It's really important that you get it. Eliza just really wants you to like her..she wants to be your personal confident (despite the fact that she'll likely tell everyone else what you tell her) and sometimes she tends to try just a touch to hard to get someones approval.

Dragon
Name: Velath
Age: 18
Colour: Green
Description:
Hatchling, adult
Personality:
Hey, did you hear what Hellath said to Cephieth? She was furious! Oh, and did you see the way Polarith was looking at that blue, but he flies a different female every time you know and I heard he's trying to tally up all the greens in the Weyr! Velath loves gossip. Loves it. She is never happier than when she'd gathering or sharing a bit of news, especially if it's supposed to be kept quiet! She doesn’t mean to do any harm by spreading around the tidbits she picks up, she simply can’t resist the fun and giggling of talking about the latest scandal with her friends.
Giggling with friends is in fact how she wishes she could spend all her time, she finds the idea of having to work very tiresome and tends to be a bit slapdash in her duties unless somebody (i.e. her rider) takes her firmly in hand. If forced in this manner she will be rather huffy and peeved, but she will do her best to get everything she’s responsible for done well enough to satisfy, and of course quickly so that she can go back to chatting.
She’s a very confident sort, and she shares her opinions on life the universe and everything with any dragon of any rank just as freely as she shares gossip. She doesn’t criticize anyone viciously, she’s too basically well meaning for that, but she’ll certainly speak up if she disagrees with a plan that’s being made or something that’s being said about somebody else. The only way to get Velath angry is to lie; this is one extremely honest dragon, and so while she gossips she will never pass on anything she doesn’t believe is true. Her anger is not expressed with words, but rather with silence that is uncharacteristic for this talkative green.

Why me?
Gossip time? Why yes, I believe it is. This chatty pair will never be short of somebody to speculate with once they find one another and can pass many harmless candlemarks giggling together either with just the two of them or in a large group. Where Eliza might be led astray, Velath's confidence and deeply ingrained hatred of lying will help her push back at whoever is trying to manipulate her lifemate. For her part, perfectionist Eliza won't like Velath slack off or do a bad job of their duties.
