It was something of a point of embarrassment for Kerberos, now that he was sober, how many people had met him only while he was drunk. It wasn't exactly an image he wanted people to associate with him. So it sort of felt like a responsibility to like, pretend there was a Responsible Adult or just a Useful Soldier of Chaos inside him. One or the other.
Wandering by Order auras was practically habit at this point, not to get into combat but because, well, it wasn't usually that terrible talking to them. Seeing a head of seafoam hair he recognized made him pause.
"Warhol? That you?" He called, and his words were unslurred this time.Daekie this was probably not worth the wait oops

Warhol, in the briefest of terms, didn't look good. Admittedly, she didn't feel all too well either -- so it did match, for whatever small amount of comfort there was in that. Tears ran down her face, miserable and red-cheeked and hands hugging herself like she'd die if she let go, and it took an agonizingly long moment for her to realize that Kerberos was there. Then she just looked at him, hugging her knees on the side of the curb, and whimpered - trying to be as small as possible. " ...Kerberos...?" That was it, that was all she was going to say: nothing more at this distance. (Warhol hadn't even noticed his aura coming. Pathetic, probably. Definitely pathetic.) Noir Songbird song, anything written by you is worth the wait~

God, Warhol looked so tiny and afraid - had he ever looked like that? Probably, at some point or another. Right now, though, she mostly looked like she needed a friend - and maybe she didn't consider him one, or whatever, but he was at least in a better place to give friendly advice and kindness than he had been the first time they met.
So he walked over and sat next to her, resting his hands on the sidewalk and leaning back.
"Yeah, unfortunately for you, it's me and I'm going to insist on talking to you because you definitely look like you need to talk right now."

She normally wasn't one for physical contact, but he was right there and practically offering - Warhol hugged Kerberos tight as she could, not minding that she was probably getting tears all over his toga. And snot. It was magic, right? He wouldn't need to go to the drycleaner's or anything, it'd just...disappear.
That helped her calm down a little bit, maybe; but she still sniffled into the fuku for a minute or two, holding him like a hug was a lifeline. When all was said and done, and her eyes were halfway dry, Warhol looked up at Kerberos and said the only thing she felt it made any sense to say. "...you're not drunk anymore?"
Smooth move, Sailor. Smooth move.

Kerberos wrapped his arms around Warhol, gently stroking her hair and making soothing noises. Crying teenage girls weren't exactly unusual - he'd patted his younger sisters' hair through a bad breakup or missed crush quite a few times, and even though he had a feeling this was neither of those things, he still wanted to big-brother her as much as possible.
He laughed, just a little, at her question. "No, I'm not. Turns out the Negaverse doesn't like drunk, useless sad sacks. So now I'm a sober useless sad sack. I smell like flowers instead of vodka." It was an attempt at humor, probably mistimed.
"What's got you so upset?"

"You do smell nice," Warhol had to admit, still curled into Kerberos like a lifeline. "Like perfume, but not bad." Then she hiccuped and took a deep, deep breath -- shallow and deepening, scraping against her ribs, and it hurt to breathe so strong after the crying - and shivered from the lack. "I --"
It all came flowing out, like some terrible, desperate river. "I killed someone -- she had her hand in a girl's chest and I just got so mad, and I just - I killed her and she couldn't even fight back -" That brought on a new parade of sobbing, and Warhol ducked her head again into Kerberos' fuku, shoulders up like a shield and knees up to her chest.Noir Songbird it's hard being a teenage girl, kerberos 8(

Kerberos smiled faintly. "That'd be all the flowers," he said. There were certainly plenty of them, blooming and distinctly alive in his hair.
He was prepared to try and make her feel better, but the reason for her tears was almost like a punch in the gut. He remembered what that felt like, to kill someone for the first time - and even though he hadn't hung onto guilt for very long (well, not until it had come rushing back after he burned out all his anger) he still remembered how sick and awful he'd felt at first.
"Hey," he said, gently, "you saved a girl's life tonight." That was something, wasn't it? "Sometimes that's what you have to do. Really zealous officers...they won't retreat, even if it would be smarter to, and she...probably would have killed you. So you saved yourself, and someone else, and took someone terrible off the streets."Daekie he wasn't one but he's dealt with four so this is well within his area of expertise :'D sort of.

"It's not that," Warhol said, and she kept sniffling big ugly tears back - "I..I already did it once, okay? Megiddo helped me. And it was harder the first time, and I don't want to be a bad person, but it was - I don't want to see either of them again. Is that bad? I don't want to see any of them."
"I don't know if I can do this anymore. I'm just a stupid kid. What do I know?" Her voice went cold and quiet all of a sudden. "I'm going to get myself killed or something...and then my parents won't have anything. I should just go back to my life or something, right...?"Noir Songbird being warhol is suffering, she is 100% sadsack all the time. FORTUNATELY: after she hits super she stops being sad cool is kerby excited to see her with cool hair

Kerberos swallowed. God, this poor kid, nobody deserved to go through what she was going through. And yet that was what this war did - put all of them, so many so young, in these terrible, hellish situations that broke them down. He'd fallen apart, and it looked like Warhol was too.
"You can do that," he said. "I'm gonna be the last person to give you a speech about staying strong and fighting the good fight and whatever, because that's really cute on paper but in practice...people die. This war took my twin sister from me. So yeah, I'm gonna tell you to go home to your parents and tell them you love them and then stay there, because nobody's family deserves to feel that way."
There were no inspiring heroic speeches in him. Whatever spirit brought those out of people, he had lost it long ago, if he ever had it. "There's no one breathing down your neck and making you fight, Warhol. And if you keep going you might end up dead, or corrupted. I'd hate to see either of those happen to you."Daekie pros: at least she's not sad anymore. cons: CHAOS. ABOUT AS EXCITED AS SHE'LL BE TO SEE HIM WITH FANCY WHITE WINGS, I PRESUME.

Warhol just looked up at Kerberos with big, hollow eyes, and took a deep breath -- well. Two deep breaths. She was all out of tears, but her breathing still shook like some sort of terrible child's toy, rattling deep in her chest.
"Um...is it okay if I power down? I just -" fingers grasped her hair, pulling on the curls - "I don't...I don't want to be this right now. All of this. I don't want to sense you in the back of my mind or anything, but...only if you say it's okay." She gave him a broken-hearted look, took a shaking breath, and then whispered as quietly as she could: "I hate this."Noir Songbird PROS: SHE GETS REALLY NEAT HAIR. it's okay she won't remember him, she can't feel disappointed~

Kerberos shook his head, a lot less vehemently than he wanted to because he could feel panic rising in his chest at the sheer thought of knowing who Warhol was out of uniform. It was sweet, in a way, that she would trust him, but...no.
"I'm not the type of person you want knowing who you are," he said. He thought guiltily of Caledonia, who had at best a month left to be himself, if everything went well. And if he knew Caledonia's civilian identity, or Hver's, or Kai's, and Schörl asked for them? He would have given them without a thought. Just like he would give Warhol's. "I know it hurts, and I know I probably feel gross right now, but you...you really don't want me to have that information."
It was as close as he was going to get to waving around a big, fat "don't trust me" sign, which was what he ought to do anyway. "You don't deserve this," he said, and he reached up to gently touch her cheek. "You're a good kid, getting dragged into this shitty war is the last thing that should have happened to you."Daekie checked with a gm on the identity share thing and was told not doing it was the best idea :< SORRY

"I have to do what I have to do," Warhol said faintly, but she didn't sound awfully convinced. "If I hadn't been awakened when I was, I'd be dead. And I have to help people who don't have that chance. And I don't know who anyone is -" her hands clenched in her hair - "except Megiddo, and I don't want to bother her. She's too good for me. I need to be strong on my own."
"...I need to get home. It's late." But she didn't move. "I really hope things get better for you, okay?" And still, no movement - almost as if she was waiting for Kerberos to make the first move, to make it ok, to make it permitted.Noir Songbird no sweat! Kerberos exhaled, and slowly the Corrupt stood up. "Hey. There are some people I know on your side, that might be able to help you. Hvergelmir - she's a Cosmos Knight, and she's in North End Park three nights a week. And Kairatos of Mars. They'll help you." He paused briefly. "You don't have to do this alone."
But she might keep trying to, and that broke his heart. "Go home, Warhol. Get some sleep, and remember that you're not a bad person for doing what you had to do." He wanted to hug her. He wanted to power down and show her who he was so that she could have a friend.
But no. It wouldn't be safe for her.Daekie I WILL FOREVER WANT THINGS WITH THESE TWO EVEN AS THEY HURT ME, CRIES

"But I have to," Warhol said, and she smiled far too sad for a teenage girl -- and before saying anything else, she, too, stood up, scrubbing tear tracks off her cheeks. And then she sprinted off into the night, her aura blinking out as soon as she was out of sight, presumably because she'd powered down (there was no sound to indicate otherwise, at least, no scream, no words).
Just like that, the Senshi was gone.Noir Songbird i feel that. SHE HUNG OUT IN NEGASPACE FOR LIKE TWO WEEKS WHILE A NEW IDENTITY WAS GETTING SORTED OUT, YOU WANNA BACKDATE SOMETHING also wrap on kerberos' post?

That smile felt like a knife. Poor Warhol, she needed someone so desperately, and he couldn't be that person for her because he could barely be that person for himself.
He felt her aura go out and he shook his head, but he slipped off into the night, because there was nothing else he could do. Not tonight.Daekie THAT SOUNDS GOOD and a fin!
