This sunny cottage is located near the seaside in southern Mossdeep City, tucked just a few yards away from the coastline overlooking the sea beyond. The owner of this quaint little residence is the renowned 'Den Mother of Mossdeep' and Ex-Champion of Kalos, Irene Bellerose, mother of famous Kalosian performer Regina Bellerose (known better by her stage name as 'Rose Rouge') and grandmother to mechgineer-in-training Chrysanthemum Everdeen. The cottage features a beautiful walled entrance made of carved stone, and a lively garden bursting with flowers and herbs alike that Irene keeps well on a regular basis. Approaching the house on the path leading past the garden, the aroma of baking cookies perfumes the air and intensifies the closer to the house you get. Pokemon can also be seen playing around on the lawn or sunning themselves on the nearby foothills that lie to the west of the residence. The Bellerose home doubles as a rehabilitation center for Pokemon who were abused, abandoned, or given away by previous owners to recover and find suitable trainers, and guests will find plenty of these Pokemon roaming around both outdoors and inside the home. Around the back of the cottage is an extensive fifteen acre outdoor area that features plenty of greenery and recreational equipment, such as toys and training items, for the Pokemon taking up residence there. Near the center of the backyard is a large crater that was the result of an explosive experiment by Chrysanthemum years ago, and has since then been converted into a pond for aquatic Pokemon to use at their leisure.
Going up to the cottage's porch, the sight that will greet most guests when the front door opens is Irene with a bright, welcoming smile on her face and a plate of freshly baked cookies in her hands. Some unlucky visitors may instead be greeted by the intimidating visage of the residential guardian and watchdog, Saladin, but don't let him scare you too much, he's relatively harmless (apart from being bitter and curmudgeonly, it comes with old age). The cottage features two bedrooms, two guestrooms, and several smaller bedroom areas built for housing Pokemon, along with a cozy den area, decorative dining area, and a fairly large, sunny kitchen where all the magic takes place. The inside of the home is well-kept and very clean with its warm eggshell-colored walls, smooth laminate flooring, and soft beige carpets. The aromas of flowery scented candles and cookies pervade the air inside the cottage, helping to make guests feel right at home the moment they enter.
Guests are invited to sit in the den area and watch television on the plasma screen with a beverage and snacks, and there's a fireplace built into the wall below the TV to warm up the home during the chilly seasons.
Exploring the home a bit more, Chrysanthemum's bedroom is abound with Pokemon plushies, along with large twin shelves full of books ranging from children's literature to research texts, a small desk complete with rolly-chair and laptop, and lavender-colored wallpaper. This room is open for guests to use while Chrysanthemum is currently away, if they don't mind the rather childish decor.
The master bedroom is Irene's, and is rife with bookshelves, decorative jewelry and music boxes, various knick-knacks and mementos from her days as a trainer, and even an old non-functional grandfather clock perched in one corner of the room. Irene keeps the ashes of her long dead husband, Armin Klein, sealed tight in a porcelain, china-glazed urn on top of the clock in her room. Under no circumstances is anyone allowed to disturb the urn, it could be grounds for Irene to get extremely upset with you, maybe even enough to force you out of her house.
The guestrooms are both fairly large with minimal decorations, and are open for any and all guests to use.
Irene is always willing to welcome visitors with open arms and plenty of cookies on hand, and guests are more than welcome to stay the night if they ask permission. Frequent visitors are always invited to stay if they so desire, and Irene lives well by the phrase of 'my home is your home'. Just take care to not anger the old woman, she may be generous and kind but even her tolerance has its limits. Irene does not take well to constant rudeness and threats, and she can easily turn on a dime from sweet and caring to fierce and furious.
Traveling trainers who stop by are also welcome to challenge the lady of the house to a battle, but challengers be warned. As an Ex-Champion of Kalos, Irene will bring only her best to the battlefield and is notorious for being almost merciless in the heat of a fight, it's advisable for trainers to be well prepared if you think you have what it takes to take the old lady on. Irene may be weathered with age being in her early 90's, but she still has the vigor and passion of a hot-blooded young trainer running in her veins.
Otherwise, feel free to come in, relax on the sofa with some fresh baked cookies, and be greeted by the residence's own house pet, Maxine, as he comes over to play with you or curl up on your lap. Or be on the lookout for the friendly neighborhood prankster, Bryony, as she may try to swipe some of your snacks when you're not looking! Please enjoy your stay here at the Bellerose Residence and Rehabilitation, there's always a place for you here!
