Life Hunter BATTLE ARENA General Information The portal opens up into an observation room, and down the stairs, an odd chamber for something like hunter training. At the center of a piranha-filled pool stands a solid stone table and several chairs. The Life Arena was built underneath the demolitions and ballistics testing areas, and the chamber rumbles with the occasional explosions above. Pinpoint red lasers sweep across the room regularly, as if hidden snipers are searching for a nice target. In the center of the table sits a wooden tower, made up of smaller wooden blocks. Yes. That's right. The Life Hunters prefer to train via Jenga.
Note: Distraction techniques and Yo Momma jokes are considered viable weapons when playing competitively.
If you fail: you have knocked down the tower! A small dart hits the back of your neck. You come to several hours later, and hope Dr. H didn't do anything to your body while you were unconscious. When you look into the mirror...
If you win: you have reached 50 points! You get a sharpie marker to do with as you please. peen points go to those with the highest scores.
Group Play Playing in a group on any course means certain things can be shifted to make it a better experience for multiple people without holding anyone back. An approved group play alteration for the life arena goes as follows: When someone knocks the tower down, they are shot with a weaker dart. They will wake up 5 minutes later, the game can be reset back to the point before it fell by placing their hands on the table and saying the word, constructum. This allows them to start again where they left off instead of the beginning. They can take up to three of these darts before passing out for an hour, the game will not reset for them and they will need to try again from the beginning.
Mechanics - by carefully removing pieces of the tower, you earn points and advance to the next round. As the rounds continue, the odds grow steadily against you. Rolling a 1 at any point means you have knocked down the tower. Please do enjoy your mystery dart. Anything after reaching 50 points is purely for peen.
- you may roll pieces individually (suggested for group play) or in batches of 5 (basically, a full round.)
Round 1

Honestly, Dawson was disappointed the pool didn't have sharks. Even though he was pretty sure the piranhas were still more than happy to chew on him if he got too close. "Kinda looks like somethin' straight outta a Bond movie," he commented as he looked around. On paper, a Jenga tower had seemed less intimidating than this. Staring at the thing now, with red lasers sweeping the floor and the distant boom of explosions above...Well, definitely something else.
He gulped and glanced at Creedence.
"You, uh, got any rousin' words fer the party 'fore we tackle this?"

"If Dr. Evil steps out, I'm leaving," Creedence griped while secretly thinking it was really, really cool. "So we just have to play Jenga? And we get healing items?" Like a minigame. She was really good at minigames that required rhythm and good reaction time.... Scratching the back of her neck, she took a seat and couldn't quite meet Dawson's gaze.

Dawson gave a small heh in return and took his seat, leaning forward to really give the tower a good look over. "Yeah, we just gotta play 'til we get enough points t'buy us a bandage," he explained, putting in some enthusiasm to cover up his own nervousness. A red light swept a little too close to them. "They're the only things we got on us that we can heal, unless yer partner's got a charge that can do it too, so it's real important we get us cleared fer some 'fore more stuff gets chucked our way."
The virus had been disastrous, and he couldn't help but think if only he could have healed... It had been emasculating to have to ask for bandages when he was a God damn Moon for Christ's sake.
Deciding to set a good example, he took the first swing at it. Carefully Dawson pulled several pieces out, his brow dipping with concentration. He gave a sigh of relief when nothing happened after a while. "See?" he told Creedence with an encouraging smile. "Not so bad."

Creedence rolled her eyes, scoffing, "It's just Jenga." What could be so bad about Jenga? Even with this weird set up, it wasn't like- Everything suddenly went dark. Quote: Round: 1 Pieces Taken: Total Points: nope

With a groan, Creedence lifted her head, not really sure what happened. Hazily she reach for the reconstructed tower. She gazed at the five pieces she took and then gave Dawson a disgruntled look. "That wasn't hard at all." There was a pink spot on her forehead from where it had hit the table and a dart on the floor beside her sneakers. Dawson froze when a dart hit her and waited until she woke up before moving. He opened his mouth to point out the missed time, then decided against it.
"'Course it ain't hard in the beginnin'," he scoffed instead, carefully inching pieces out. "Wouldn' be much a competition f'it were." He nudged her with his foot teasingly. "Already insultin' me fallin' asleep like that, s**t."
When the final piece was taken out, he gave a sigh of relief and Matthew McConaughey'd an, "Alright, alright, alright~"

A weird piranha thing jumped out of the water behind Dawson, and Creedence gave it a groggy scowl. "Why couldn't they pick a good board game, though?" Thunk.Quote: Round: 2 Pieces Taken: Total Points: 5

Squinting at the two Dawson's across from her, Creedence wondered out loud, "Did I pick the drugged coffee again?" She ineffectually patted at the blocks, successfully moving a couple before simply batting at the tower like a confused cat. This time when she went down, Creedence stayed out for a good hour. medigel Didi I mention I have uh...some negative karma coming my way for making the Life Arena?

Dawson winced as she batted the tower down and was still for quite a while himself, just in case the hunters watching them in whatever shadowy corners there were decided to get frisky. After a while, he relaxed.
"'Cause usin' Trouble would've been a bit on the nose," he told the unconscious Creedence, scooting her a little closer. Those pirahna-fish-whatevers gave him the heebie jeebies. Alternating between watching the scenery, observing the reassembled tower, and making sure his partner was alright, Dawson carefully picked the next handful of pieces to remove. This was way more nerve wracking than it had to be.

Creedence groaned, but maybe it was just a bad dream she was having, because she stayed out. Over the intercom, a voice called down. "You're almost there, Grace. If you make it out awake, we won't draw any dicks on your face." Another voice piped up, " Today, that is."

The warning itself was sudden enough to throw him out of his groove, and a small dart pricked the back of his arm. Face scrunching, Dawson popped it off and tossed it into the water for the whatchacallits (couldn't be just regular fish there) to look over.
With the same fluid movements as before, he continued to take apart the tower with the same careful focus he had when carving uruz. The experience lent itself here: he hummed some Enya tunes to himself, and before long the round was up.
"You ain' touchin' a hair on her," he said to the air, unsure where the watchers were. "Jus' so we clear."
