If you wish to join the "Around The Estate" role play, send me a pm so we can discuss your character entering the frey.

Original Characters are preferred for this role play but if you wish to add your Cannon character then you will need to make a strong case as to why you think he/she would fit into the RP and how they could add to it as well.

This Role Play will revolve around the Stormbringer Estate. Please be sure to be familiar with the locations of everything and if you are still unsure of something bring it to my attention and I will help. This is a lazy to semi-lit standard thread. (Basically if you only post a couple sentences that is okay, or you can post up to five paragraphs if you wish.)

The plot is very simple here, at some point in time all the guests, staff and residents come together and meet face to face. (How we meet is pretty much decided on how you enter the RP) Getting to know each other and then going about their daily business. At certain points in the story though, there is a villain/bad guy that will cause trouble for everyone and they will have to try and figure out the individual problems and take care of them. Over time they learn that there is actually someone behind the scenes pulling the strings and will have to start working together to catch him/her.

For this RP in particular, you can post from anywhere around the Estate you wish. It does not have to be in the same location as myself. I'm starting it here in the Main Office because, that is where my story is starting. If you wish to start in another room/place or interacting with other people (talk to them about it and then quote them so they know) you are more than welcome to do so.

Post style- for now I'm going to let people use the post style they are most familiar with as long as it's understandable for everyone else reading. If this becomes a problem then I will change it up.

Rules
These are pretty standard just follow the rules of the Guild and Gaia's ToS.

Please do not ignore others. If someone interacts with your character, be courteous and address them as long as they're following the rules.

Don't post your profile here. That is what the intro page is for. But please remember to put your character's name above your post unless it is the same as your name.

If you haven't checked with me about entering the RP, your posts can and will be deleted without notice.

And remember to use (( )) [[ ]] at the bottom of your post for any OOC comments.

Lastly, I'm basically new to Role Playing. I have done lazy lit for some time but not much more than that. So I ask you to be kind and give suggestions if you feel I'm not getting something right.

Location: Right Wing Hall heading to Main Office
Company: Alone

Now that the guest’s dinner was done and they were all enjoying their evening activities, Areya headed down the wide semi dark hall to her office. She loved walking the hall and looking at the portraits of all the Stormbringers who have managed the estate from the first down to her father. And one day she knew her portrait would be up there next to her father’s. She just hoped when that day came she would be worthy of it.

This magical massive estate has been her home since birth, literally. She was born here on the estate in the infirmary and has never stepped foot off the lands. She knows every inch of the place from the attic, second floor, and first floor, to the basement, the bright grey stones which cover the outside to the dark wood paneling inside, the beautiful blue and gold colored carpets to every scene in all the stained glass windows. One of the things that has always amazed her is how the mansion can change for the individual guests staying there. From old world style where you still have to light lanterns and ring bells for service to modern day with microwaves and dishwashers. And yet it still manages to stay the same.

She also has many memories of playing in this particular hall as a child. One of her more treasured memories was watching her father and mother walk down the hall, her mother’s hand tucked into the elbow of her father’s arm. They looked so happy and care free to her. But that was all before the diagnosis of her mother’s illness and eventually her death. Areya shook her head. Let the past lay in the past she thought.

After she reached the door of her office she quietly opened it and stepped in. She still did that after managing the estate for two years, thinking that she needed to be quiet so as to not disturb her father and forgetting it was her office now. She walked over to her desk and sat down. It was time to get the weekly reports done. Making sure all of the staff was caught up with their duties and everyone was ready for the new guests who would be arriving the next morning. Along with any other minor detail that just couldn’t seem to wait another day. She was more than ready to finish this all up and go to her own room for a relaxing evening before bed and an early morning.

Then there was an unexpected knock at the door. “Yes?” she had called out. But all she heard was a muffled voice from the other side. Flustered that her evening might be ruined she again spoke, “Come in and speak up so I can here you.”

➣ Morrigan gazed with a blank expression into the Game Room, her shoulder rested upon the doorframe. She was not one to take part in senseless revelry, however she did find some amusement in watching how animated people became over games. Her mind, however, was preoccupied of what had been and what could be, things that many never pause to even consider in all of their life.

For example, the pure existence of a mansion such as this went against all logical explanation, something she was quite familiar with. She was a high priestess of the Druidic order, after all, and quite well known in her time for her use of "arcane" magic. History prosecutes her as the witch who killed King Arthur, but my how history has painted its portrait with mistakes. For starters, that her name was "Morgana". Perhaps it is a simple mistake that is of no consequence, but still it bothers her in her eternal life here within Stormbringer Estate.

Her gaze caught sight through the window across from her, if only momentarily, of someone out upon the patio. She did not spend much time outdoors, personally, as she did not care too much for the constant dreary weather. However, when she did chance to venture outside, it was past the patio and along the trails to the pink-sanded beach where she would chance to partake in a cocktail or margarita, whatever suited her fancy.

But this night, she did not care for a drink. No, she wanted to watch people. As uncomfortable as her knowing gaze tended to make others, she did not care to advert it. People who turned their gaze from her, she had found, tended to be those with something to hide... And she always found the truth, one way or another.

Flint, Steele, and Dietrich Stasis

It didn't take long for the three men to be moving along the outer walls of the estate. Their first plan was to get in, grab a few pricey pieces, then get out before anyone noticed. Eventually, the long haired male with the grey streak in his hair peered into the window of what he had guessed was the office, only to see a young looking woman with red hair. He waved to his brothers to let them know that there was someone in sight, then pressed his back to the walls as they moved towards the kitchen window. They'd get in from there, then move towards the office when the woman wasn't paying attention.

The man with the short hair and green streak reached into his bag and removed a small bottle of red fluid, then poured it in his hand, pressing his fingers to the edge of the pane and allowing the fluid to leave his skin, then move through the little opening to locking mechanism of the window, which he then wiggled his finger to make the liquid move the latches. "Steely." He whispered before waving his middle and index finger in the direction of the window.

The man with the blue streak followed in through the window behind 'Steely', then came the man with the green streak as they made their way through the kitchen, peering around to make sure no one had seen them.

Location: Main Office to Foyer
Company: Alone-for the moment

Having shooed the Mistress of Keys off, Areya walked over to the built in book case. She removed her favorite book, Beauty and the Beast, reached into the back and pressed a stone button. So, she thought to herself, we have either an early guest that didn’t want to check in or we have an unwanted guest looking for an easy target. She wickedly grinned to herself. Oh but they will find this place is no easy target. She hasn’t had to use the mansion’s power to play in a long time and so this person might get an unexpected surprise. Maybe, just maybe this evening won’t be ruined after all.

Placing the book back she headed for the door. Walking through she left the door slightly open, after all there has never been a need to lock the doors in the history of the mansion. She almost felt a girlish giddiness at the prospect of using the mansions power. Areya quickly walked down the hall with a bounce in her step to the center of the mansion between the foyer and the dining room. There she stood for just a moment gathering herself and the power.

Areya cleared her throat and with a gentle boom announced to the estate, “Attention guests and staff, it seems we have an unexpected guest to the mansion. It is unclear at this point if he or she is a welcome guest or a guest that WILL be staying with us unknowingly for a time." She let slip a giggle. "Please do not approach any one that you do not know and bring it to mine or the staff’s attention if you do see someone out of the ordinary.” And with that the clouds outside begin to disappear so the waxing moon could shine down on the estate and illuminate areas a person might hide in. As well as every sconce in the mansion lighting up to show every corner, nook, and cranny a person might be able to hide in as well.

“Now” she said out loud and to no one in particular,“let the game begin.”

➣ Morrigan sensed an change in the air before the Mistress of the Mansion had come down to make her announcement. She could sense the intentions of those who had entered the Mansion were none too pure, and for that reason had already left her post at the Game Room where she had, for obvious reasons, become quite bored. No sooner had she reached the Foyer, however, when she caught sight of Areya and heard her words.

They are most certainly not welcome guests. She thought silently to herself as her hand, quite out of instinct, rested gently on the pommel of her sword. Unfortunately for her, however, she was nothing more but a guest in this home of the Mistress, and as such was to respect her commands... within reason. And she had made a reasonable request.

As the moon began to shine in and the sconces began to glow, Morrigan gazed around with mild surprise. She had heard of the strange powers of both the Mistress and the Mansion, but she had, until then, not been privy to witness it. A calm smile swept her lips at the sight of the light brightening every crook and cranny of the mansion, finding it beyond a mild amusement that such measures were even deemed necessary.

She removed her hand slowly from the Sword of Truth that hung ever at her hip and retreated a few steps back towards the Game Room, though she did not enter the hallway. Instead, she leaned against the wall of the hallway so that she would have an easy view of anything that would happen within the area and of anyone attempting to leave through the front entrance. She would not, however, act without Areya's say.

Amethyst eyes flickered open as a familiar voice entered Xavier's head. With a light groan, he lifted from the plush bed and gave himself a moment to wake up. Xavier massaged his eyes while he listened to the announcement. It was something about new guests, but the way it was worded made it seem somewhat negative. It didn't seem to concern Xavier, so he ignored the latter end of it. Instead, he rose from the bed and straightened his suit. Now that he was up, he wouldn't be able to get back to sleep for a time, so he decided he would go for a walk. It was late, so leaving the building wasn't an option, but the estate was big enough for him to wander the rooms.

Xavier snapped his fingers and the small, wax candles spread out around the room began to light up with tiny flames. Dim light stretched to every corner of the large space, eradicating the darkness. His eyes took a moment to adapt, but within a few seconds, he was fine. Xavier picked up his pearly white gloves off of the bed-side table and started to slip them on. His slick black shoes followed. With that, he was ready to head out.

Xavier entered the ornate hallway, the light fading behind him. He pulled the door shut and made his way towards the main room. From there, he descended the stairs to first floor. Along the way, he greeted the other residents that he passed and bid them a good evening. None of them were residents he knew well, but it was the polite thing to do. There were only a few residents that Xavier knew decently well, and there were plenty he didn't know at all. He did wish to know them better in the future.

Along his way through the mansion, Xavier saw Lady Areya ahead of him. Being polite, he decided to greet her as well. "Good evening, Madame Areya!" Xavier greeted as he approached her. He paused his approach only a foot or two away and he bent down to give her a bow. When he bent back up, he continued with a smile. "May I ask how you are doing on such a lovely evening?"

Flint, Steele, and Dietrich Stasis

Steele blinked as the red haired woman stepped out into the hallway and proceeded to migrate out of sight to make an announcement. He scratched his head and looked over at Dietrich and Flint with nothing but confusion in his eyes. "That just happened." Flint said quietly. "I say we dip the he-" Dietrich quickly stopped talking and grabbed his spiked gloves, quickly slipping them on before waving his finger towards the stairs. "Heads up."

Flint reached into his bag and pulled out a string of skulls as he watched the stairs. "I've got this." Steele and Dietrich nodded before he signaled for Dietrich to look for an exit. The man with the grey streak in his hair planned to go find the owner of the loud voice. He wasn't going to play a game of Bird and the Worm and end up the prey.

Areya turned slightly to look at the man who had given her such a formal greeting and smiled. “Good evening to you as well Xavier”, she said, “I’m quite well. I would like to apologize for any disturbances you may have encountered this evening. The mansion and I have not had a reason to power up together in a long time and we may have over done it a bit.” Looking past Xavier’s head down the long hallway she spotted Morrigan leaning against the wall and gave her a slight nod.

Not having known Morrigan long, Areya was quite fascinated with the woman and admired her. Her mannerisms and stature were always every watchful and yet sometimes she felt as if there was just a bit of playfulness, no that word was to strong. But there did seem to be something. Maybe, she thought, Morrigan might like to get in on the game tonight.

Areya turned her attention back to Xavier, “as you have heard dear sir we may have an unwanted guest on the estate. Please do not concern yourself to much with this intrusion. We have plenty of people here that can take care of the matter. And if he has made it into the mansion already, he will find that the mansion won’t let him out unless I deem it so. In other words there is a game afoot tonight. Areya smiled teasingly at Xavier and asked, "Dear Xavier would you like to walk with me and see if we can find the fox in the hen house?”

Areya held out her hand to the debonair Xavier to see if he would take it and liven up his night as well.

➣ Morrigan continued to gaze on in silence as a man she had seen on a few occasions approached Areya and greeted her. Xavier, she seemed to recall his name was. A curious man to her, but then most men were strange in her eyes. Despite how strange he seemed to her, however, he had never struck her as a liar or untrustworthy, and so she had no reason to distrust his approach to the Mistress of the House.

She turned her gaze towards the stairs as she heard something, though it was faint. However, the removal of the storm clouds had cast an eerie silence on the Estate that made it easier for her to hear things, although her hearing was always better than most of the residents within the Estate. Her gaze turned slowly back to Areya as a devious grin spread across her lips.

She lifted her hand to grab Areya's attention, though she did so in a manner that would seem as though she were merely greeting the woman with a wave of her hand. Her head then tilted slightly towards the stairs from which she had heard the noise. Whether the intruders were on the ground floor or the next level, but it wouldn't be hard to find out.

Xavier furrowed his brow. "Oh no, I haven't been disturbed at all. But there is an intruder on the premises?" He questioned, scratching his head. It was most unusual for someone to sneak onto the estate grounds, it hadn't happened before. At least not in the time that he was there. Though he hadn't been there as long as some of the other residents, Xavier wasn't exactly new. In fact, he held more time on the estate then most others, save for those that arrived long before he did, which wasn't many. A disturbance such as an intruder is a rare occurrence, but Xavier supposed it must be inevitable. Where there are those with luxury, there are those who wish to take it.

"That is most horrible, an intruder on the Estate grounds. But I must feel sorry for the chap, for he is playing a game he cannot win." Xavier sighed. It was true, the mansion would never allow the smallest of insects to escape once it was locked down. It simply wasn't possible. Those foolish enough to enter unaware could spend the rest of their lives trapped inside, as long as Lady Areya deemed so. Xavier felt bad for the intruder, unknowingly entering a trap, but those who make the wrong choices deserved the consequences.

Xavier was a little surprised when Lady Areya offered him her hands. There was no doubt he'd be taking it. "Oh how exciting!" He exclaimed. "To see the game in action while accompanying Lady Areya, that is too much to pass up. I'd love to walk with you, Milady." Xavier said with a delighted tone before taking her hand. To see the intruder, that would be thrilling. Xavier was now glad he had gotten up, for this to happen. What a spectacular night it was becoming.

Flint, Steele, and Dietrich Stasis

As Steele entered the Foyer, his golden eyes shifted around between the four walls before he spotted some people, one of which being the red head he saw in the office. He didn't come here to fight and he planned to avoid it as much as possible, but he wasn't going to let himself or his brother's get beaten, killed, or anything worse because of what they did to get by. All he had to do was get outside of the building, then he'd change his body's frequency to let Flint know he needed to pull Dietrich through the spectral plain and burn out their only near perfect emergency escape plan for the day. One way or another, he was going to make sure everyone was just fine when he left. If not, he'd show this house exactly what he was capable of.

He broke out into a sprint and his right hand began to expel a black mist around it, his footsteps left shadows that didn't fade in the light and on the ceiling, his footsteps seemed to be mirrored, almost as if an unseen entity was moving just as fast towards him from the direction he was heading. They may see him now, but that wouldn't last long. The footsteps seemed to approach him at a faster pace, meeting his inhuman like speed as he ran just past the red haired woman and smiled, winking at her before the black mist pulled the pale, golden eyed young man to the ceiling and turning the footsteps to align with his. With that, he waved and continued towards the door with abandon.

Dietrich looked around the dining room for a brief moment before he felt his skin shudder a bit. From what he gathered, Steele had changed the frequency that brought harmony to his body and soul. He smiled a bit and kicked up a chair, having felt confident that they'd be getting out of their soon. "Shedding blood, causing pain, eyes filled with much disdain. Lightning on the ground, cutting demons down. Say goodbye, your end is nigh, just relax and close your eyes. Give in to the oncoming storm." He sang quietly.
