The Alkidike had just begun their celebration of the great mother tree Aisha, all of the Alkidike in Tendaji returning home to give back to their mother in the ways that they could. When some began to notice that something was amiss, many could feel the attitude change throughout the island.
The young mystic in training, Aselia, was nowhere to be found. Word was, she had taken a strange liking to the lands of Sauti and the mythical Suhurama. It was common knowledge that the Suhurama had been the one to give Aselia her power, or at least it was the reason for her strange markings.
The Alkidike were beginning to talk, the loudest of which were the extremists. If Aselia had taken a keen eye to Sauti, wasn't that a sign that their great race was to take hold of that land? The extremists whispered words of approval and of moving forward with the plans. Aselia must have meant to take Sauti for the Alkidike, and the extremists would ensure that they get what their mystic wanted...
Yansa and Eshe eyed each other, their looks signifying that of worry, or in Yansa's case irritation.
A younger member of the crowd, a blade named Irisa, began to loudly talk to her friends. "Aselia has the right idea! We need to stop thinking that the Alkidike should take back Jauhar. We need to think bigger! Aisha has meant for us to take Sauti." Other extremists, older and younger followed suit. They weren't shy or hesitant to join in the exclamation of conquer.

It had been the first time she journeyed from Jauhar to Chibale since she had bloomed, the first time she set her eyes on the great mother. Her heart had hammered the entire way, her body humming with the energy she felt coming from the island. She all but rushed away from her sisters upon landing, her pace rough and quick as she ran to the great tree. Since she had gotten there with her family, she barely left from the land around Aisha, her eyes wide and her mouth open every time she looked upon the being that made her.
She was in paradise.
Lumikani spent the time up until the festival as a studious Alkidike, watching and doing all she could to prep for the celebration. She gave back in blood, sweat, tears, and soul to the great mother tree, and as the festival began to grow heated, her eyes and her ears were wide open for more.
Therefore, she caught the sounds of the extremists immediately. Her interest drew her close to her sisters, listening in as she neared Irisa and some others. It took only a moment for her to realize what the blade was speaking of, and upon hearing what they said of Aisha and the mystic, she was hooked. Lumikani knew she had finally found her cause, and her way to give back to her mother.
"The mystic speaks for Aisha, and if Aisha wants the lands taken back, I will do what I can to give it to her...after everything she did for me, it's my right and duty to return the favor." She added to the growing discussion, nodding with certainty.
Niabi watched as the others celebrated around her, grinning at her thoughts. She had only been back on the island for a little while now, having rested from her journeying with Vollerei and Neska, but it was good to be home.
Or at least that's what she would have thought if the mood hadn't began to change. It was like a virus in the air, it was ruining the festive mood and the grumbling from others were growing louder. One Alkidike in particular spoke up and Niabi's smile broke, replaced quickly with a grimace.
Why did they have to be so vocal? Couldn't they have kept it to themselves until after the festival?
It was true, Aselia wasn't there, but... did she really mean to take Sauti for herself? She turned her head to look for Vollerei, wanting to be close to her partner as the discussion turned heated.

Maya Post 1
Maya wandered slowly around the festival, it hadn't take her long to return to Aisha after the happenings in Ast. Staying only long enough to wish her daughter good-bye and to pick up V'demhe in order to bring her safely back to the Isle. Injuries like hers were hard to ignore, but she hadn't seen much of her for a little while and Maya wondered if the girl was alright and if she had managed to find her mother yet.
The celebration like it had been every year had a calming effect on her. Even if the atmosphere seemed a little off this time. It didn't seem to help the growing feeling that something was wrong when word quickly spread that Aselia was not here. A sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach made her queasy, she had heard from the Mystic herself that she wanted to see the Suruhama and that Eshe had given her permission to leave. She wasn't sure if the final part was true, besides what kind of mystic could so easily her thoughts were cut off when another Alkidike spoke up. An extremist no doubt, likely a part of the source that was causing so much trouble in Jauhar. Now they were turning their attentions to Sauti... was there more to this Suruhama than just a strange firebird the Mystic had her attention locked on?
"Is there more to the Suruhama than what we originally thought?" Maya asked no one in particular, her eyes scanned around for a familiar face.

V'demhe Post 1
Being back was like a breath of fresh air. V'demhe knew she should have come back sooner but she didn't want to leave her friend alone. Of course she couldn't make an excuse this time, it was a festival for Aisha. Despite her injuries Dem had gone straight to her mother's house and greeted her. After a quick reunion she had suggested that she and her mother go out to enjoy the festivity. The elder Alkidike agreed and now they both stood watching as everyone enjoyed themselves.
As her mother worried over her she chuckled and brushed it off. "It's alright, Mom, I won't die." She said as she led her mother around, letting the older woman lean her weight on her. V'demhe chuckled when she got a gentle slap from her mother but the laughter died when she heard some arguing. Instantly she shifted so that she was between her mother and the possible threat.
She stared but kept her ears tuned in to what was going on. When she heard mention of Aselia she let out a hiss of displeasure. Dem wasn't fond of the young mystic at the moment, though it was entirely personal.

Ariya Post 1
She stood next to her mother, Niesh, who seemed to be elated by the discussion. Ariya sighed but kept her thoughts to herself. The young Alkidike hadn't yet told her adopted mother about meeting a hybrid. Something she knew was wrong, keeping a secret from her. She did see merits in both sides of the argument though. When her mother gave her a nudge in the side she blinked then spoke up. "I see no problem with taking back the land. Spreading out." This made her mother happy but she had no intentions of leaving the islands, even if her tribe were to take over the rest of Tendaji.

Tahigwa, post 1
Being in the presence of Aisha had always calmed Tahigwa and made her feel a sense of belonging. Every year, when she'd return to Chibale with her family, this feeling would engulf her and make her feel free and warm. In those years before, Tahigwa felt comfortable around her Sisters. She felt confident in the youth and in the leadership before her, and only yearned to feel closer and closer in the years ahead. But now, as the growing threat of extremist Sisters threatened to tear her family apart and ruin the lives of the people in Sauti, every bit of warmth had slipped out of her. She stood coldly, her shoulders like jagged rocks against her neck, and breathed as if fire were in her throat. The fact a youth had been the first to speak out in favor of this false mystic made her blood boil. There was no care for other lives, no understanding of what insanity they would wrought if they tried to take Sauti from it's people. These Sisters, where were they when Oba was threatening their home? Did they forget the thousands of people they lost in that war? Or were they really that devoid of empathy?
The Warrior tapped at her swords, seeming to consider drawing them, and instead, turned, to face the crowd behind her. There was a moment of hesitation, or contemplation, before her eyebrows furrowed and a breath was sucked in.
"No. Aselia is a false mystic, a fake!" She seethed. "She has no right to make such grand and delusional claims! Sauti is not for us, as is the rest of Tendaji. We need to learn share this earth with all beings, instead of indulging in greed, pride, and gluttony by trying to take what isn't ours! You should all be ashamed of yourselves for being lead this far by someone who has barely lived long enough to call herself a true Alkidike Warrior!"

Nyah, post 1
Nyah found comfort away from her Sisters and took roost in the trees surrounding them. She prefered the cover of the leaves to being out in the open, like Tahigwa was, and remained there until she heard her sister start to yell. Oh... Was this that thing she was going on about? The day she'd be kidnapped or persuaded to join the extremists? Nyah's mouth made a perfect 'o' shape at the thought and leaned forward for a better view.
"Hm, Sid?" She mused, looking to the Kinfa as it preened itself on a nearby branch. "What do you think we should do? Is Tahi right?"
"Cheep? Cheeeirp!"
"Yeah, you're probably right. It's better to watch them fight about it first, then I can decide." Nyah agreed.

Kadriye post 1
"You will not interrupt this sacred time with gossip and warmongering," Kadriye declared, stepping away from Eshe and the elders to confront the crowd. "If Aisha wishes us to spread the power and ways of our people then she will let us know." The mystic's tone brooked no arguments, though she was sure there would still be dissenters and she pointed her sacred spear at the crowd in challenge. " Though Aisha is the first and greatest do not forget that our people have always acknowledged those beings and creatures the other people revere, even if we think it to be to their folly." Personally she sought wisdom about the creators of the lesser races so as to advise and assist the half breeds who remained with the tribe. They would never equal Aisha but they could not be ignored, no great power could.
Kadriye frowned and brushed a multi-coloured dreadlock behind an ear. "One day we will reclaim the land in Aisha's name but we are only just finished recovering from war and we are clearly not united in this endeavor." She was not happy with the younger mystic missing such an important moment but there was nothing she could do about it except try and prevent her sister's absence from stirring up trouble
If Aselia was planning some sort of scouting for an invasion well, Kadriye didn't know about it and she was going to be having some strong words with Eshe and Aisha about leaving her out of the loop.
Wait who had just insulted Aselia?! She had missed the speaker but if she heard their voice again Kadriye would not hesitate to confront them, to challenge them personally to defend their stance.

Joweese, post 1
Joweese watched her mother breathe harshly next to her and inched herself toward the rest of her family, not wanting to get involved with anything behind her. While she agreed with her mother and hoped that they wouldn't go to Sauti and take control of it, she wanted to keep her opinion on the down low for now. Not to say that if someone tried to come up to her and argue with her, she wouldn't argue against them. She'd stand up for herself and her family.
"... Zahra, I wish mom would calm down." She muttered, leaning against her sister. "Do you think all of this is upsetting Aisha at all? I wish she could speak for herself..."

Zahra Post 1
Turning to look over at her twin she gave a little sigh, her antennae twitching out of sync before she said, "She is pretty riled up, isn't she? Probably shouldn't be doing this now, isn't it Aisha's day? Seems this should be saved for after that." She lifted a hand to play with her ear cuff, the one she had been given by her friend Teiluj, her other hand moving to the shell necklace, made after a day spent playing with Neska.
Things were getting too complicated these days she thought to herself, glancing over at her sister, "I kind of miss being a youngling, off playing with Lulu and Nessie, with the biggest thing we had to worry about was Sam getting mad over being turned pink." Resting her head against her sister's shoulder she watched everyone else as they went about things, talking or yelling amongst themselves, "How about... we just wait here and watch? If Mom does anything overboard he can jump in and try to calm her down. If anyone can do that hopefully it's us." The only other who might have been able to was Uncle Yaholo and he was pretty far away leaving just the two of them.
"Being serious and mature is boring... I want to be dying people rainbow colors again, Jojo!" She said, sticking her tongue out at nobody in particular before trying to look 'serious' once more.

Tahira post 1
Tahira was not here for this arguing, she was here to pour a glass jar of water, from a hidden spring she had found, on Aisha's roots . She wanted to give back to the great mother who had given her life and given life to the Alkidike warrior whom she called mother. The best thing she'd been able to think of was to travel as far as she was capable and find a source of untainted and pure water to bring back to Aisha.
Sure Aisha's roots probably traveled that far anyways but as far as Tahira was concerned what mattered what that she'd put the effort in to bring it back especially for her. Plus when she'd told Kadriye about all her possible plans the mystic had noted that bringing water was safer than unknown soil, no matter how rich, as that might harbor bugs that could attack the great mother or the many lotus currently growing upon her.
"Wouldn't Tale or Oba make more sense strategically, I mean then you can sandwich the shifters in Jauhar. If we tried to take Sauti we'll have a new territory surrounded by potential enemies." The blonde woman crossed her arms and looked unimpressed at some of those calling for a not too well thought out war plan. Not that she expected them to listen to her, she was still little more than a prentice for various reasons.
She frowned at all that was going on, especially at her girlfriends outbreak. She didn't think Aselia was a false mystic, she actually liked the girl, however she also didn't think that they should go Sauti. Not only was it not smart, but she didn't think that land was for them. There simply wouldn't be enough of them to even take it.
"Is it possible that we are misinterpreting Aselia's wishes? Aisha's wishes? Clearly if Eshe and Kadriye don't think that Aisha wants this then it is possible that Aselia is just gone for a while and lost track of time due to the mission she is on. It doesn't have to be taking over a place. I don't think anyone wants that..." she looked around, hoping not to step on anyones toes. She was aware that there were many extremist in the crowd and wasn't in the mood to get into any real fights. It was possible that someone would come after Tahigwa though. She didn't agree with her girlfriend, but she would stop at nothing to protect her girlfriend.

Briella- Post One
She watched Kadriye proudly. Her girlfriend was so wise, it made Briella want to go and kiss her up there with the other elders. However she knew this wasn't the time or place. Kadriye was right, this was a sacred time and what was happening wasn't right.
Before she could say anything she heard her daughter speaking up. At once alarm rose within her. Although Ilyra was capable of taking care of herself she worried that at a time like this it was better to be silent then to speak up. However Ilyra's words were good ones, and although she herself wouldn't have said them she understood why her daughter did. She moved closer to the front, hoping that Kadriye could draw strength for her. She had a feeling the day wouldn't be easy on the mystic.
She listened to everyone that spoke up so far. V'demhe had to agree with certain points from everyone, however her hackles rose every time Aselia was mentioned. When someone smeared the young mystic she couldn't say she didn't have a streak of pleasure about it, though she didn't like their choice in words. Stepping forward she looked at Tahigwa and shook her head. "Now hold on. I am the last person to think what Aselia is doing is right, but to call her a fake is to say that Aisha made a mistake!" And that was something she didn't like. It didn't matter that the mystic had offended her.
"I believe Aselia is simply misled. She is corrupt and claims to know what our great mother wants but she is young." V'demhe looked toward Eshe and gave a small nod of her head as she smiled at the woman, a sign of respect. "Aselia has a prejudice outlook on the earthlings and even the hybrids. If Aisha did not want to mix our tribe with another, then surely she would not give life to the hybrids." V'demhe's mother moved closer to her once more, this time placing a hand on her daughter's arm to get her to quiet down. Dem glanced at her mother then gave a sigh. "I don't know what Aisha is thinking and I cannot hear her voice as the mystics do, but I know she has taken precautions against being abused by the hybrids. There are some that can create new life in the way earthlings can and have no need to seek out our mother for such a gift."
When another spoke up V'demhe turned to look and tuned her ears in to what was said. She nodded her head once more before she added to Ilyra's statement. "I ran into Aselia in Jauhar not too long ago, she said she was traveling to see the Suruhama, the firebird." What she planned to do with said bird was a mystery to her. If the young mystic had said something about it then she hadn't been listening, she was perhaps more focused on the arrow that Aselia had been pointed at her. A fact that she was going to keep to herself, less she upset the elders with that knowledge.
