A new day which meant new beginnings in the downward silent forest beneath the mountains. a pretty little mare shorter then the average ones stretched leaning forward with a toss of her head. She smiled with a small glint in her eye that evolved into a prominent twinkle. What a life she had had thus far straying first from her basket to meet her adoptive mother then learning about the world around her. The biggest thing that stood out currently was her growing heart for her mate. A wayward lost stallion that unseeingly made her laugh with adoration. They stood against a Kalona, survived many perils, and even experienced being parents. That which might she add in her thoughts was the most amazing thing she'd ever experienced and for the most part accomplished.

Standing with an air about her she raised her petite head to the cool breeze of the morning letting it slowly tussle her green locks as they playfully danced in the direction of the spring breeze. These moments were the most amazing because it was relaxing and gave such contentment. Spring was breaking away giving summer her lead so in a few hours it would be hot and overbearing. The little cream colored mare was quite thankful the summer hadn't taken her breath nor her pride in those afternoon hours when her children were expertly placed in crisp new baskets awaiting the day they would emerge as her first colts had. There was always the worriment that something would go wrong but in all due honestly she'd trust her life and her future with the Indian maiden who was was like a daughter to Celendira the elder Mare of the herd.

Taking a deep breath she stretched her large delicate wings reminiscent of leaves and looked toward the sky. He hadn't been back in a while and she was starting to get worried. Three days ago she'd had her foals so her lithe frame wasn't ready to take to the skies yet. Yuuri tended to go off in his own little world and sometimes forgot the time. He was probably picking flowers for her or finding delicious treats to spoil her rotten. Her mate was adorable in respect that he always wanted to see her happy and surprised all in the same. She nickered to herself blowing out gently knowing he'd be back soon.

Turning her head to the teepee she walked over causally as her long green tail colored silken jade tail swished back and forth. Those black flies would be visiting soon and that was unpleasent. Nickering again she nosed her muzzle into the teepee opening and looked upon her baskets. Three sitting nestled in the corner filled with surprises she was dying to meet and bond with. Moving inward the flap closed behind her leaving the coolness of the shadows and a flickering small fire toward the middle of the teepee to give her peace. They were safer here for the time being both from the elements and lingering predators. She breathed a sigh then leaned forward to nibble on the top of the right basket. It was worth the wait but it was endless wait it seemed. She would nap a little more till he came back. Resting her head on the middle basket painted in a large sun she closed her eyes and drifted off in a peaceful dream.

For a moment a shadow loomed high above then descended to earth with a fell swoop. Powerful wings as black as night spread outward flapping handsomely as he touched upon the ground with a small thud. Grinning he noted his excellent landing then missed that infamous root that always tripped him up once or twice. Stumbling, all the contents in his basket scattered about the ground sending him into a panic, "Ah Noooooooooo! Come back here!!", he called out with a worried look upon his face. The stallion known as Yuuri Shibuya was never known as graceful and as others remarked he could be full of himself at times. As he cantered after an apple that had nearly reached a hill toward the stream he caught it with no problems. Not realizing he had accidentally taken a bite he placed it back in the indian basket Tirrana had fashioned for him. His mate hadn't been able to go on her adventures full with foals so he did the next best thing. Yuuri went out daily finding the sweetest fruits and beautiful flowers he could stuff into his basket. There were gems and trinkets he'd find along the way that were beautiful he'd also place in as well. Stopping for a moment he counted the items carefully, "Ah one two, three, four, six.." he paused and snorted, "Yuuri ah you know how to count stop being an airhead".

He chuckled looking around the area catching a glimpse of a green silken tail that just happened to be sticking out of the teepee. This caused a smile upon his face that was both proud and soft. Just seeing her was his greatest desire each day. No matter how long they were apart he'd never miss an opportunity to simply gaze upon her lithe frame. Those beautiful sparkling eyes and wings soft like the spring mosses. He'd love nothing more then to curl up listening to her voice as she sang like an angel telling her stories of adventures. She was his heart as he was hers. Sighing deeply his chest resonated with softness knowing how tired she'd been lately.

"Be strong for her Yuuri. You are her rock and she's your endless ocean" he coached himself, "Ah Feena..... three more. We should make a bet again. All boys hee hee", he chuckled to himself. She'd have to love him forever right?

Sitting the basket on the ground he walked quietly over to the teepee and poked his head in. There she was lying on the ground next to their baskets.

"Ah Feena?? Are you awake? I'm back", he nickered softly nuzzling her muzzle blowing out softly, "I'm sorry I took so long but I did find you some neat things. Once you wake up I'll show them to you".

Feena yawned as her wings fluttered. Her head rested upon the basket as her eyes slowly opened. Lying there looking lovingingly in her eyes was her mate. She smiled with another yawn, "Did you enjoy your flight? I thought you'd never return." Stretching she pulled herself to her feet flicking her ears.

"I've felt movement but they still aren't ready yet. I just hope its soon", there seemed to be a bit of worry in her voice. Foals were tricky when they felt like gracing the world. The birthing seemed endless and Tirranna assured them that they were going to be healthy foals when they emerged. So she nibbled on her lip and hoped for their speedy arrival.

"How long have you been lying there?" she teased with a laugh. "Its good to see you my love. So did you bring anything special back for me?". Feena always mused at her mate bringing back trinkets and treats. He was working overtime now since her form still wasn't ready for the cooling air as her wings carried her endlessly into the world and back again. Feena was the number one adventurer after all. She'd never let him forget that,

Soon they would have foals to teach flight to then the adventures would return. If only once again to see the high cliffs, the endless ocean, and even walk through the dark woods. That was her passion; the existence of her soul.

He couldn't sleep no matter how he tried. His eyes never straying from his lovely mate who dreamed peacefully while still keeping a vigil over her babies. He merely lied his head down and gazed at her like a lovesick stallion he was. He knew her heart longed to be on adventures but after the birthing she was much too weak and sore.

"They will. They will be strong like their brothers Feena"
, he chuckled. For all they knew it could be all boys again. He'd win that bet twice for sure.

Stretching himself he snorted and pulled himself to his feet before she was on hers, "Always! ah ha ha.... I had to wrestle a snake for some of it. Hope it wasn't smashed". Now he was worried. That snake guarding those berries was quite the guardian of that bush. Still though Yuuri finally managed to make him slither off. Then he remembered the spilled basket.

"I'll be... I'll be right back Feena", he snorted with a panicky took and nearly took the front of the teepee flap with him as he trotted out so fast. "Ah the gifts. oi Yuuri you never straightened them. Baka." he moved toward the area of the basket to notice it was gone.

"Nooo... I... it was here where I left it!" stamping the ground with his hooves he pulled his ears back. Someone had stolen his gifts for Feena.

Feena's ears swiveled quickly to her mate's distress causing her to pull herself on her shaky legs then hurry outside. Her eyes were wide with alarm as she made her way up behind him, "Yuuri?! What happened?"

Now she felt it in her backend and belly that presumably was trying to reshape itself after pushing out three mystery foals. Grunting she pushed up against him for support, "Yuuri please calm down or you'll scare the little ones. We'll find your gift no worries. Please, it will be fine". She tried to smile even now as a sharp pain made her wings shutter like leaves preparing for a strong wind or storm. Licking his cheek she tried to reassure him as his muscles tensed. Truth be told Yuuri was a bit intimidating when his necklace seemed glow. It mattered not to her for she loved him no matter what the cause.

"Come on silly we'll look together. Just don't go tearing off like a madman. I'm still a little tired since they arrived." she left out a sigh stretching her legs a little at a time.

As the necklace began to glow the stallion's presence grew deeper and more dark. He whirled this way and that seeking a thieving ferret or something worse like a kalona. No one was to touch something he worked so hard to make his mate smile..."They will pay for hurting those..." he stopped abruptly as the necklace dimmed feeling the soft warm presence of his mate subdue his anger. Deep obsidian eyes turning to look calmly at her as she struggled to soothe the demon within. He breathed softer now letting his breaths flow more smooth and timed rather than previously rigged and uncontrollable. Her voice was like a harp in his ears as was her scent a relaxing guise. How did he ever get so lucky to ever win a beauteous heart such as hers? The world would never know nor would he it seemed.

He leaned in to her for support taking her scolding as a warm gesture, "Ah sorry Feena. I worked so hard to find you something unique. Well now I can't show you can I?" he hung his head in defeat. Yuuri was a proud stallion when he could bring happiness otherwise he was a lost puppy that could literally cry.

"Feena'', he paused shaking his head, "Go rest. Any day they could emerge and you're too tired to be going on adventures. Please let me take this burden I promise to be more calm... for them.... for you" He blew outward upon her neck and he leaned downward for a nuzzle carefully.

"Besides, you never know you may win the bet this time around". He chuckled to himself and nudged her toward the teepee. Last thing he needed was seeing his mate collapse from exhaustion.

She loved him how could she not? No matter how Feena could draw out ways in the sand and dirt of his faults her heart would never let her see those imperfections. He like her had hang ups and things they hated about themselves. There was even little things that irked one another certain days over others. The one thing the trembling flutter mare knew was her heart was his. He was perfect no matter what her mind told her. They were soulmates for a reason and honestly she'd have it no other way in her eyes.

Sighing deeply he shook her head, "Yuuri... you and I know no matter what you do. No matter what you say... I will never love you less than the day before. The seconds, minutes, hours, anything in between I will never loose my trust in you." She smiled weakly and started heading back to the teepee to rest again, "Just don't go screaming like that again. You nearly scared the wings off of me silly. I'm sure you'll find the treasure.... you always do."

She nudged the teepee flap to the side stopping for a moment looking back at her mate, "Yuuri?" her eyes softened a little then slowly sparkled, "I think I'm going to win the bet this time".

A soft laughter came from her as she entered the teepee flap and disappeared.

Sighing deeply she lied down cradling her baskets for protection and closed her eyes again.

His deep obsidian eyes followed her to the teepee as she paused. He felt horrible for causing her pain even if it was to walk right now. Her species were quite weak and unable to fly after birthing foals. Not to mention Yuuri was going to be a father of three again. It had seemed just yesterday his three sons emerged to greet him in excitement. Now he pondered what waited in those baskets his mate was so vigil about. Could she be right and he'd have daughters this round? Whatever the case they were his children no matter what gender they were. Correct that... it was Feena and his children.

"Go rest Feena. You need your strength when they are ready to fly", he nodded to her never letting her leave his sight She may of been been tiny but his mate had a heart of fire when she wanted to. In truth he was ecstatic to see them wondering if they were wingeds, flutters, maybe something else. The love between Feena and himself was magical and unpredictable. But it was pure undying love between them both. He chuckled to himself how Wolfram would of died of laughter in that other age seeing Yuuri as a puppy dog asking for attention from her. Yuuri rolled his eyes for a moment then laughed to himself. Maybe it was a good thing Wolfram wasn't around.

He raised a brow as she turned to look at him. Then he laughed in spite of himself from her response to his bet. "Maybe... maybe not Feena".

Once she had disappeared from his sight his eyes narrowed his eyes then snaked his head downward with his ears pulled back. If there was one creature in the world that would steal anything it was a certain ferret. Snorting he was about to give a challenge then he remembered Feena. So in his best interest he stalked off to locate a trail from the fallen spilled basket. He'd get that little menace if it truly was him.
