He'd gone to the Haunted House at approximately eight in the morning and had gotten back around two-thirty PM. At five-ish, he'd gone to Otto's. Somewhere around one in the morning, he'd given up and gone to the infirmary, where he'd been given liberal amounts of medication in order to sleep though the insane sensitivity to pain.

Around four PM the next day, he was finally released.

Chance had woken up around noon, but the issues had still been there. They felt a little muted, a little duller, but he was still experiencing more pain than was considered normal, so they'd kept him in bed for several more hours, testing him every thirty minutes. At a little past three, they'd tested him again, and to Chance's utter and blissful relief, all he felt when the needle was pressed against his skin was a tiny, dull p***k and nothing more.

The nurses had tried to run more tests, but Chance was determined to get out of the infirmary as quickly as possible, and sidestepped their attempts at keeping him in bed. He kept the hospital gown on, only because they'd taken his other clothes, and Chance wrapped himself in one of the scratchy blankets and slipped out.

His phone was already in hand as he padded down to the hall to his room, his thumb moving to press the right letters.

I'm awake. Heading to my room. Wanna meet me there?

Otto had been worried sick.

He'd not heard from Chance at all, but since he had work to do, hadn't visited him at all that day. When he finally got the text, he felt all the weight he'd piled on himself fall away. Had he really been sleeping all that time? And just how long did that pain last for? Answers he'd find once he got to Chance's.

Text to ManBaby:

b there ina bit

Hm.. maybe he ought to think of a different nickname for him on his phone.

Nah.

Otto finished his work and headed to Chance's dorm room. Only to actually see him on his way there... was he wearing a blanket?

"You moron! Did you sneak out!?" He yelled from across the hallway.

Chance had been hoping to make it to his dormitory to change before Otto got there. In hindsight, this probably would have worked if he'd texted him after he was dressed, but Chance hadn't quite thought that far ahead, and it came back to bite him in the a**.

He jumped guiltily and turned around, his eyes falling on Otto, and a sheepish smile wormed its way onto Chance's face.

"Whatever would make you think that?" he asked lightly, pushing open the door to his room and hastily stepping inside, leaving it open for Otto. "Maybe I just really liked this blanket."

"Or maybe you're hiding a pasty white a** in a hospital gown cause you weren't actually 'sposed to leave yet?" He grouched back, wanting to hit him soooo badly. He followed Chance inside, kicking the door closed with the back of his foot.

"Did they even tell you if you're okay yet?" He needed to know. For science.

"No," said Chance indignantly. And then, a second later, "Okay, well, maybe. They told me I could leave, they just were taking their sweet a** time, so I thought I would speed up the process a little. Paperwork is a b***h, after all."

He sighed and unwound the blanket, dropping it onto the bed. There was a slight clinking sound, and Chance turned around, holding the newly removed artifact up. It was no longer secured around his wrist, the skin of his arm as smooth and pale as it was before.

"I'm all right," said Chance, expression shifting a little to something less sheepish and something more tired. "They finally got this off, about an hour ago. That's also when the oversensitivity stopped, so if we're counting..."

He tossed the cuff onto the bed and stepped towards his closet, hiding his face from Otto, the hospital gown, in spite of its flimsiness, wrapped completely around him enough to cover his pasty white a** from view, thankfully.

"All in all, about twenty-four hours in total."

"Jesus Christ." Otto tsked. That was a long time to deal with pain. A long, long time. Still, the thing was finally off. And that only meant one thing to Otto Graves.

Otto took off his running shoe, calmly walked behind Chance, and whipped him over the back of the head with it.

"That's for keepin' me worried sick, dumbass!"

It didn't hurt as much as it would have, had the cuff still been on, but it still hurt.

Chance gave a yelp of surprise and pain, almost smacking his head on his own closet door as he jumped away from Otto. A hand rose to massage the back of his head, and he backed into the closet, his other hand outstretched in case he needed to fend off any more unwanted smacks.

"Ow ow - okay, okay I'm sorry," he said hastily, waving his hands. "But everything's good now, really - "

A shirt fell off a hanger and slithered to the floor behind him.

Otto pointed the black skull print shoe at Chance's face with a menacing look. "Never again."

With as much dignity as a five foot seven man with a baby face could muster, he slipped his shoe back on without even breaking eye contact with Chance. "That was also a test. Makin' sure you ain't lyin'." Chance passed, by the way.

Chance's hands were still up in front of him, because the shoe was definitely a threat.

"I don't lie," he said quickly. "Never again."

It was with some relief that Otto put his shoe back on, and only then did Chance slowly lower his hands, easing himself out of the tangles of clothing he'd almost fallen into in his attempts at getting away. Exhaling a breath, Chance took a step towards Otto, tentatively sliding his arms around his shoulders to draw him into a loose embrace.

"Sorry," said Chance quietly, keeping his grasp slack in case Otto decided to smack him again.

Otto was still mad. Well, not mad. He wasn't actually mad. Relieved, and needing to express his relief in some manner after bottling all those worried feelings up. He huffed, not immediately accepting the embrace. As in he held out for all of three seconds, and finally wrapped his arms around Chance too.

"Yeah, you should be." He grumbled. "Well, whatever. It's all fine now. Put some damn pants on, you convict."

He waited to see if he was going to get smacked, hugged back, or just nothing at all, Chance watching Otto carefully; but after a few seconds it seemed the second of the options was going to be the one to occur, and he felt some of the tension ebb from his shoulders.

"That's Sir Convict to you," said Chance delicately, tightening his grasp around Otto, now that his embrace had been reciprocated. He let himself linger for a moment, basking in the warmth, then withdrew, reaching to tuck a finger beneath Otto's chin and lift his face up.

"Pants are overrated, anyway," he added, just to be obnoxious, and kissed him quickly before turning around, rummaging through his closet.

"Did you get any sleep yourself while I was out?" Chance asked, pulling out a large black shirt.

"Nuh uh---" He was going to defend the power and influence pants could have, but the Prince of Leggings shut him up with a kiss. Hard to argue with that, really.

So he stood back now, his arms crossed and silently judging the things Chance was lifting or looking at. Otto was a man of rather particular tastes, Chance was going to have to ignore that part here on out.

"Hmm. Yep." He murmured, lifting a brow at a cool hoodie he was now planning to steal, and then scrunching his nose when he saw cosmic leggings that looked like they belonged on Mimsy. "Lot's of it. Fell asleep part way through the movie."

He decided against the black shirt and hung it back up, Chance browsing absently through all of his things. His tastes, as he knew, were not quite the same as Otto's; but still, there were a few things here and there that weren't as feminine as others.

"Good," said Chance, pulling out a pair of clean boxers and some black sweatpants. He discarded the hospital gown without a shred of decency, tossing it to the side as he pulled on the boxers first, followed by the pants. "I mean, the sleep part, not the missing the movie part."

Now bare chested, but at least half clothed, Chance stuck his head back into the closet and debated on a shirt.

"Have you decided if you want me to be your slave today or another day?"

Decency was cast aside by Chance's hand, along with what remained of his coverings. Was Otto bothered? Of course not. It was nothing he hadn't seen, and to be honest, he leaned a bit to get a good view before Chance ultimately covered up.

Otto waved a hand absently, then rested it over his bottom lip. "Mmm.. another day." In the meantime he was enjoying the eye candy show he was being blessed with. It was well worth the trauma.

Maybe not trauma, but whatever.

"Another day it is," said Chance, voice slightly muffled as he browsed idly. If he was aware of the shameless goggling going on behind him, he might have played it up a little more; as it was, he just took his time getting dressed, finally pulling out an oversized white shirt with a giant star printed on the front.

He turned around, shirt in hand, to find Otto staring at him. Chance raised an eyebrow.

"Enjoying the view?" he asked, sounding amused.
