Eije had needed supplies, that much was definitely true. After the storm that she had gone through, she had to go through the trouble of cleaning her clothes and purchasing all new supplies. Who knew that satchels didn’t hold up well with flooding? But her tasks had been completed and the ice earthling was beat. It didn’t help that a certain sailscale decided he was going to be extra clingy, even with his master being weighed down.

She needed a break. With a bit of a sigh, she stopped herself beside a wind girl, not really able to focus on avoiding people in a crowd. “Excuse me,” even if she was tired, she didn’t want to be rude, “do you mind if I sit by you?”

“Thank you,” the relief was evidident in her voice as she sank into the seat beside the wind girl, Namidu companion quickly skittering between the two to not be squished against the seat. There was something about the wind girl that left Eije with a smile. Maybe it was a reminder of home... well, of Zena, not of her childhood home.

The sailscale glanced towards Amarone, canting his head and giving a quick sniff towards her. “Yes, someone” she gave a pointed look to Namidu, “enjoys being carried and getting treats far too much for his own good. I'm going to have to find a personal healer if this keeps up,” she said with a laugh. She looked out into the people, noting that this was a wonderful location, “People watching?”

“It really is nice to just sit by and watch. So many unique people out here... where are you originally from?” Sauti wasn’t quite as well populated as Zena or Tale, but it seemed like the perfect amount.

Nami gave a quick flick of his tail before turning a circle and curling up between the two females. Eije gave a quick glance between the Amarone and Namidu. “Seems like he’s taken a shine to you. Normally he’s a bit more skittish around strangers.” It had taken quite some time, but he was slowly getting used to other earthlings. She figured it mostly had to do with the fact that he realized that she wasn’t going to abandon him.

Well, that was a bit of surprise and it clearly showed on her face. “I didn’t know that there was actual farmable land in Sauti.” She actually didn’t know much about the land that neighbored her own. ‘Inhospitable’ was the only thing that she had ever heard, even from a childhood filled with snow and ice. The people wandered the land much like she was doing now. But she returned the smile, “Nice to meet ya, I’m Eije. I’m originally from Zidel, Zena. It’s a pretty large city, but I left because of family problems.” If being disowned could be called that. “But that’s a wonderful goal,” she said with a grin.

Giving her sailscale a gentle pat, he didn’t even flinch from his rhythmic tongue flick. “Yeah, it’s mostly my fault. He was a gift from my friend and I didn’t think sailscales became this big when they’re supposed to be gliders, so I let him ride my back from when I first got him. Now he's getting fat,” she gave his belly a poke, smiling, "and he's starting to tear my back up with those claws of his." There wasn't any anger or irritation in her voice, just a statement of fact. Technically, he wasn’t that old, but he was just starting to show his size.

“Yikes, I would say so. Sauti is quite expansive.” She must have had quite the childhood. Eije was slightly concerned about the look in her eyes, it almost seemed like she was having an unpleasant flashback, but it quickly faded as she made the suggestion.

“I’ve never actually considered that. I’m not much of a leather worker, I wouldn’t know the first step to even do it.” She bit her lip for a moment in contemplation, a pack would be so much help and he’d more than likely enjoy it as long as he could get some of her body heat. He was pretty easy to please all things considering. “Would it be possible to have you help me with a pack? I’ll purchase the leather and whatever else you’d need, along with paying you for your services.” She knew it was short notice and rather rude of her to ask someone she had just met, but salvation was in sight!

A squeak of surprise erupted from Namidu as his second source of heat jumped up and spun around. Earthlings were weird was probably what crossed his mind as he put his head back down.

Eije, on the otherhand, was just elated that Amarone had accepted the offer with enthusiasm, a lot of enthusiasm too. She grinned to the other girl, excited as she scooped up Namidu with a laugh. “Only if you’re sure. Though, if you wouldn’t mind, could you accompany me for the tools and materials? You can pick out what you’d feel would work the best.” She wasn’t hurting for money, her grandfather at least hadn’t withheld the money willed to her at least, and it was best to have the master have her pick of the tools necessary.

“Two straps with support sounds like it would be best, but would it be possible to have some movement on my end? I’m training to work with blades, so I can’t have too much hindrance in motion.” She looked down at the resting sailscale, “I believe he is, or at least nearly there. Maybe some wiggle room would be best?” She had only seen sailscales at a distance as of yet, so she never had the side by side comparison.

With a hint of mischievousness slipping into her smile, she took Namidu by the wings, lifting him up so show his full wingspan and body lengths as she stood. He looked mildy annoyed that his nap was being disturbed but he wasn't struggling, "Do you have a tape measure on hand?" she said with a laugh.

Who would have thought that she would have found someone so willing to help another when she had sat down? The thought brought a grin to Eije’s face as she accepted. She nodded with a smile. “Sounds like a plan. Whatever you need, just tell me. We’ll grab it.”

She was never the most creative person, more interested in cutting down enemies in the form of her toys and sticks as a child, but to meet someone who was willing to work with her to make something perfect, she seriously lucked out. Even if she refused official payment, she would get a tip. She could probably keep all the tools as well unless they were necessary for maintenance on the bag. Eije had to laugh at how quickly she pulled out the measure, Amarone was just too efficient.

She gently set him back down on the seat, patting his head for being a good sport, “Good boy, Nami.” He gave a soft call, sitting himself up to groom his apparently rustled scales. “That’s exactly what I mean. In an ambush sitation, it would be best if there was some maneuverability, but I would much prefer him out of harm’s way…ack.” Without any warning, Namidu leaped onto her back, leaving Eije grimacing. “Namidu, give me a warning first!” He just looked proud as he surveyed the area then bringing his attention back to Amarone. Little brat.
